This music is healing to my body. It's very different from the junk they play now!! I love Glenn Miller orchestra he's one of the greatest of our time. ❤️
I´m loving this music. Once I stood 3 hours to get this album in front of a music shop and I was so lucky to get it. A time were the lyrics of a song still were important and a gentleman wanted to be a gentleman. My grandpas favourite :-) If I listen to this, I remember of him and our good old times. Thanks that it is here. It`s friday, work is done and now lets have a good spare time around the world. Greetings from Nuremberg.
Hey Kirk they have found him at last , a fisherman pulled up the plane in fishing nets , he died in the middle of the sea in between France and the UK !
Kirk Hollingsworth I’m so jealous. I’m 52 but my dad play Glen Milller, Benny Goodman and Louis Armstrong for means a small child. I find it so soothing. I played Moonlight Serenade at my Mum’s funeral. 😊
Me too. 82 and counting while remembering and still playing the great music we grew up with. And fully enjoying it means still dancing to it when the opportunity arises.
@@IndependentBear wow you are amazing I’m 15 and been listening to his and a lot of others music since I was 9. My life long dream is to try my hardest to bring back the legendary sound of the big bands from the 30s-40s it beautiful! Please if possible can you describe the sound the best you can! Thanks, - Michael.
I listened and danced to this music with my Dad. Enjoyed every minute of it. Went dancing with my parents to the big bands when I was 18 and danced all night!
My parents met at the Glen Island Casino on Long Island. To those who complain that much of this isn't Glenn Miller, you're largely right. A lot of this is the Glenn Miller Orchestra, re-formed in 1956 and continuing to this day.

He was correct. There's been lots of bizarre conspiracy theories because the plane was never found, but the most recent investigation shows NONE of them are true. The two most-likely culprits were mechanical failure and/or pilot error: > The plane had a known defect in its carburetor. However combat planes with the same type of carburetor got first priority for fixes, while things like little transports were just patched in place and sent back out. > The pilot had made the trip many times before, but only in clear weather. He wasn't trained for instrument-only flight yet he agreed to travel anyway, possibly because he was pressured by his overbearing senior officer Norman Baessell (q.v.) > Baessell failed to file a formal flight plan, meaning there was no paper trail for anyone to follow. It took three days for anyone to realize the plane was missing. By that point there was no hope of finding wreckage, let alone survivors in near-freezing water.

Nice to see another Jerma fan around here! If you are still looking for the origins of Jerma's pirate marching band song, Jerma first invented the tune in the video Garbage Guardians. which I believe is on Star's channel.
Probably not the original band, but definitely not during Glenn Miller lifetime. But the material is definitely Glenn Miller and the leader sure has the same feeling the original has
There are an awful lot of commercial interruptions for what is basically just music. Love me some Glenn Miller, hate all the ads. It is virtually unwatchable. Thumbing down because of ads, not because of the best band leader of all time.

No, the fisherman pulled up a plane that MIGHT have been Miller's, but dropped it back into the Channel before a positive ID could be made. And not trying to make a sick joke, but Miller experts say the story is a bit, uh, "fishy": the wreckage was found a considerable distance east of the route that the plane was definitely known to have taken, AND it was is remarkably good shape to have been under water for (at the time) over 40 years. So all we know at this point is that he was a victim of bad judgement, a dodgy airplane, an unqualified pilot, and crappy weather. That's bad enough.
This music is healing to my body. It's very different from the junk they play now!!

Boy the way Glenn Miller played !!!
Robert Simmons Glenn Gave his band a sound of its own, he also gave it a personality
This music has so much more class than today's hits.
your phrase "today's hits" the s comes before the h.
Thanks to the Fallout and Bioshock games I can't get enough of this music. Thanks for the Upload.
Listen to "In The Mood". That's rock n roll. Way ahead of its time.
I remember my father telling me Glenn Miller had gone missing over the English Channel. He was very upset.
He was correct. There's been lots of bizarre conspiracy theories because the plane was never found, but the most recent investigation shows NONE of them are true. The two most-likely culprits were mechanical failure and/or pilot error:

I love this kind of music
Me trae muy buenos recuerdos esta música
love this music,this is talent
Dang it..!! was born in the wrong year..!!! can't imagine Axl Rose singing to this music...!!
ES MARAVILLOSO
love this music from this Era .
Music that makes you want to live.
That's what I call music!
Song No.1 is not Moonlight Serenade! It is "My Love for you" by Glenn Miller.
Beats the auto tune sampled garbage of today hands down. *THIS* is talent.
FANTÁSTICO.
fantastico
My great grandmother loved "Little Brown Jug." I love "In the Mood" from the new Parent Trap. ^^

For sure!
SOU FÃ DO GLENN MILLER.
That first song is NOT Moonlight Serenade.
you can say that again.
Although it is not Moonlight Serenade - I quite like it. Could anyone identify it?
all my love for you
My search for the origins of Jerma's pirate band have led me to here...
I must listen carefully
Nice to see another Jerma fan around here! If you are still looking for the origins of Jerma's pirate marching band song, Jerma first invented the tune in the video Garbage Guardians. which I believe is on Star's channel.
WTF? You come on with an ad in the middle of a number? PPPFFFTTT!
Why is there a picture a valve trombone, I don't think he ever played on:)
please come to brazil
Some of this is re-created, not Glenn Miller. Elmer's Tune, in particular.
+MrDEMcT and it sounds good, too.
It's the Glenn Miller Orchestra, which was re-formed in 1956 and continues to this day.
ALSO THE PERSON SINGING WAS SADLY OUT OF TUNE ...CERTAINLY NOT UP TO THE GLEN MILLER STANDARD.
Probably not the original band, but definitely not during Glenn Miller lifetime. But the material is definitely Glenn Miller and the leader sure has the same feeling the original has
So they played Perfidia too? Nice. I'm queuing up Big Bad Voodoo Daddy after this album
Anyone else feel like they were born too late?
+SuperGaleford what about the wars ?
Saturn What about them? I could have killt me some of the Master Race.
eeyup
Because there aren't wars now?
i grew up listening to big band music

I can't find the classic that was used in Buffy the vampire slayer, when she heard it on a school record

It's a good closure, RIP. God is good all the time and all the time God is good Alleluia
