🎵🎵 Good afternoon all 🎵 1:30 nothing like the Big Band wish the music come back not like the music of today my parents would go dancing almost every Friday night in Scranton Pa🎵 Dancing with the Stars is junk 🙃 Remember as a kid would watch the Harvest Moon Dance Championship that was a real class act with the men dance in tuxedo and women in grown s
Way, way back, I decided to educate myself on the roots of the rock artists I loved. That ended up being almost everything from around the world, and certainly big band. One day, I was listening to some hot '30s b.b. jazz and I realized that those guys were really rockin' out! It wasn't R n' R, but with amplification...? I know, not really rock, but the intensity of their energy was exactly the same. They were cool! Still love it. So glad this collection popped up as a recommendation.
I play with an 18 piece big band out of Bridgeport,CT.....bass trombone, play with 2 other orchestras, big band is the most enjoyable, RUclips (Or Facebook), Ron Bonito Big Band Bridgeport,CT.
🎵 Good afternoon all 🎵as a kid saw Guy Lambero at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City with parents. Many years later in my late thirty saw Archie Shaw at the Aspens in Pariispany NJ it was dinner and dance was in the lounge somebody open the doors people was just going Artie Shaw complain to the management for letting people in
My folks used to listen to this type of music, and I do now. They also listened to a wide variety of music. While going through an old box of records, I found my dad's grass. That grass was blue.😉
You know...I'm 45 years old! I used to be a very respectable 1st chair Jazz trombone player and soloist since middle school till high school.Even at that age in my teens learning jazz was what improved my skills to understand my instrument at a higher level. This genre involving from the rhythm section to the horns was such an excitement! It's a complex art learning the swinging and attitude involved. I'm sure many you that understand this style music is such an amazing expression in music. This music never feels outdated!
The hopes and dreams of this generation has been lost/deleted in the history books. The American spirit has suffered in the last few years and is on its deathbed unless America does the right thin in November.
Good to see you here appreciating this wonderful music. I was 21 when I saw Duke Ellington. I think my BF and I were the only 20-somethings in the entire theater. Also saw Count Basie, Woody Herman, Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton in my 20's, Stephane Grappelli in my 30's. Grew up listening to Big Band - Cab Calloway, Glenn Miller, et al. (With hard rock, new age, grunge, jazz, classical music - life filled with music.)
I play with an 18 piece of band in Bridgeport CT USA. I play Bass trombone, also play with two local orchestras 40-50 pieces, sometimes classical or pop ! Play euphonium with tonight's orchestra...

I'm 87, I remember my daddy dancing to this kind of rĥythm. I think I inherited from him the liking for it.
This genre of music simply *OOZES* class and style! I visualize a ballroom of men and women in formal attire dancing the night away!

Mr.Chick Webb had one of the best swing bands in the 1930s at the famous SAVOY ballroom in Harlem.
Guess that's why my parents always go to swing clubs, that's some nice music! Dad says Mom is very popular there, never saw her dancing though.

Our temperature is -1 F and this music is warming me all over. Thanks for the work you put into this! Regards from FROZEN Northern Indiana! :-)
I thought "-1, that's not so cold", then realised that'd be -18 Celsius. That IS cold! Coldest I've ever experienced here in Australia is -8 C.
I feel like I'm watching Tom and Jerry! This music is awesome!
Priceless, it will last forever!
Wonderful old Times Musik.. 🙂
Big Band music is HIGH ENERGY. It stirs a sluggish mind to action. 💢

Benny Goodman in a different class from the others.
Let’s not forget that Rock and Roll came from swing. Just the foundation for R&R. I treasure both!
Brilliant.
Thank you for sharing.

The music of the Greatest Generation.
The hopes and dreams of this generation has been lost/deleted in the history books. The American spirit has suffered in the last few years and is on its deathbed unless America does the right thin in November.
My father's favorite kind of music, aside from standard songs of the 60's & the 70's.
This is the music that I grew up with and searched for. I hated Rock'n Roll.
Me too! I hated 50s and 60s music, but I was a disco queen in the 70's. 😅
Same here!! Rock and Roll ruined the swing band music and started bringing the disgusting hippie era
What about Bill Haley & Fats Domino? I love swing but I thought they were cool!
You're wrong about rock and roll.
I love them both! ❤
Why choose?
BIG THANX 😘
Great music
Thank you! 🙂👍
Now this is music💎🫶💫💫

this type of music is ok in moderation but after a while it gets a little annoying..Kind of like 60s music.
