Obligated to provide housing they say. How is it that a country is obligated to provide housing to foreigners arriving when they are not obligated to do the same for their own citizens

If you've ever travelled abroad by plane, you know how long those passport lines can get upon return to the U.S. while the agents check to see each person's citizenship and whether each person has the proper paperwork. When I view videos of migrants being ushered into the U.S. at the southern border with little or no regard to their documented legitimacy to enter, I wonder why we even bother to establish passport controls at our airports!!
This is where Border Control Officers are, look on Google or other Search Engines and try to find other than Texas where those who are responsible for Border Control are, it is on the Furthest reaches of the US, there are no Border Control Officers within the USA
We are seeing politicians on both sides playing politics by using illegal migrants as a tool without regard to what would happen to the country. Biden's stance attracts migrants. Republicans putting caught migrants on busses and sending them to NYC and Chicago attracts migrants. Democrats demanding work permits for those migrants attracts migrants. Both parties are enticing more migrants to come.

Keep it simple. Every nation is in constant competition with one another. Granting citizenship has a certain value to it (ie. Rights, liberty, etc). The goal is to invite immigrants that have tremendous talents, investments, resources or even connections to make the nation superior (similar to sports team or corporations). The problem here, you are inviting persons with possible problematic backgrounds (ie. Criminals, human trafficking, etc) or lack of talents, investments or resources. This in turns devalues the US citizenship, creates problems in communities and burdens the tax payers.
Since 1981 name one complicated USA National problem, that Democrats or Republicans have dealt with.

If a lack of workers was causing the problem and illegal aliens was the solution why have we seen exactly ZERO reductions in the last three years. That leads me to the following questions:
📌At the point that we have filled those 1.5 million jobs why do we need the other 7.5 million people who crossed let alone any of the others that are in route?
📌How does the extra cost at the grocery store compare to the cost we are incurring as a result if illegal immigration, including:
-the more than $150 billion we spent last year in illegal immigration
-the loss of learning opportunities our kids are experiencing due to overcrowded classrooms full of kids who speak no English and perform well below grade point
-the depression of wages that has already negatively impacted more that 500k POC workers at a cost to them of roughly $2,000 per year.
-the value of circulated money in the economy/money these workers send out of the country
-the impact aliens are having on affordable housing.
📌specifically if the agricultural cost is less the $150 billion could we not curb illegal immigration and use that money to subsidize those costs, and
📌how would this cost compare to the potential loss of life and the economic effect in general should we experience another 9/11 style even due to lax border policies.

Because in five or 10 years by the time the court gets to them, Democrats will be screaming that it will be cruel to enforce the law at that point. Exactly. 9 million have come in since biden took office. 3 million are got aways because he hasn't called in the national guard and the Border patrol is overwhelmed. Of the other 6M, some will never bother to fill out the paperwork and others won't even show up for the court hearing. Of those who both fill out the paperwork and show up, we know that 70 to 90% of them will get rejected and I suspect it would be towards the higher end of that only because of the mass influx. That means there are about 1 million people of the nine who are legitimate and well that is really way too many for us to take on it. One time, I think most Americans would try to stretch to make it happen as a temporary provision, while their countries were shorted out, but, because there are so many people gaming the system, most of us don't want any of them now because we're being put in a position where it's sort of an all or nothing proposition. If we allow people to stay here for 5 to 10 years,they will never leave and by then you've already spent so much money that the worst damages already been done

The migrant policy of the United States centers around assuring a cheap supply of labor for meat packing plants, etc.. undocumented workers, those awaiting asylum heatings, etc. take "under the radar" employment at substandard wages...cheap labor.
On the other hand, it is illegal to employ undcumented workers...the prosecution of emplyers is virtually unheard of.
The economic interest of labor intensive sectors is readily served by a lack of mandatory minimum wage scale and delaying asylum seeker hearings...a pool of cheap labor. Establishment of a nationwide (enforced) minimum wage would be the first step to developing a coherent immigration policy

Asylum is granted to individuals who can prove they have credible fears persecution based on one's status in a particular group of people, namely one's race, one's gender, one's sexual orientation, one's religion or one's political affiliation.
What that means in practical terms is quite simply. If you spoke out against government corruption in your country and now authorities are unjustly looking to lock you up for life, you can qualify for asylum. If you are a gay man and you are from a country like Uganda where homosexuality is considered a death penalty offense, you can qualify for asylum. If you are a Uighur in China, and you are fleeing genocide you can qualify for asylum. In each of those examples the individual is being targeted because he or she belongs to a particular group and this they need protection.
You'll note that none of those categories reflect economic need nor do they reflect a generalized problem. You can't qualify for asylum because there is a lot of crime and violence in Haiti. You can't qualify for asylum because there's a lot of poverty in Venezuela. You can't qualify for asylum because there aren't educational opportunities in Cuba.
Do you understand the difference now?

So, maybe I messed it, but does this report ever address the question of "Why are more migrants trying to cross the US southern border?" Seems the entire report is about US policy to deal with the problem. Didn't hear anything about why they are coming now, or even where precisely they are coming from.
They are coming from all over the globe. However, the majority are from Mexico and Central America.

Oh please, this is the dumbest question! They don't have to fill out paperwork, pay fees or even qualify for anything. There's no waiting for years for someone to tell them if they qualify for a visa.They just walk across the border, they're handed a free cell phone with free texting and free airtime, food vouchers, bottles of water and an officer fills out their paperwork for them. Then they've given cash money and a free bus ticket to anywhere in the U.S. Once they arrive at their destination they're put up in a 5 star hotel, given free food and drinks, offered jobs if they want them and are told they're allowed to stay for free for the next 5 to 7 years whenever their asylum court date comes up. And if you know you don't qualify for asylum (like 90% of them) they notify you in advance of your court date so you can leave and melt into the existing illegal migrant communities and never have to worry about anything again. Isn't America wonderful?
It’s obvious that the two female panelists are NOT as objective about this migrant crisis as their male counterpart. Although, I do disagree with some of the male panelist’s views, but I think he was the most objective in his discussions. First, the lady professor from Maryland was WRONG in stating that the migrants are NOT illegal if they’re just seeking asylum because it’s their right. In theory she is correct, but she is WRONG in her theory’s application. Anytime a foreigner obstructs or surmounts any type of barriers of a particular surrounding boundary, then that individual is a TRESPASSER. Once that person trespasses, then they’re obligated to turn themselves in at the border patrol and request asylum, but that still doesn’t make them LEGAL; it just makes them a LEGAL SEEKER of asylum-there’s a DIFFERENCE. Secondly, the foregoing theory is that a migrant can request for asylum but NOT by any means necessary. If a migrant does NOT come into the USA by legal pathways, then they are considered as ILLEGAL and UNDOCUMENTED, and that is the LAW--no exceptions. That is the whole concept of migrants being arrested because they’re trespassing on USA soil that is NOT rightly theirs to tread upon. The motive of migrants seeking asylum, yes, that’s LEGAL but certainly NOT their illegal methods, no, that is NOT LEGAL. Oh, and I just loved it when the female panelist stated that pathways of entry into America outside of permissible routes are IRREGULAR but not necessarily ILLEGAL. Conclusively, it’s NOT complimentary that a public speaker diminishes the magnitude of what’s taking place with the migrants as if they’re from the “Girl Scouts” selling cookies (of course, not filtering gender). Most of the migrants applying for asylum are CERTAINLY not that-meaning, INNOCENT.
I agree. Yet, I am baffled by migrants who would rather be arrested than to turn back. The consensus is that “being arrested” is another way for them to stay in the US. Like there are no negative consequences that serves as a deterrent. Not fingerprinted. Mug shot. Or a file.

Unfortunately, they are willing to suffer death, even slow brutal ones, rather than stay in their own homeland or migrate to another country outside of the States. That is similar to a terrorist organization that’s willing to die for what they wrongfully believe in. Also, I don’t buy into the fact that the migrants are starving in their respective countries because if that’s the case, they wouldn’t be able to hike thousands of miles to the US border; a completely weakened and malnourished human body would NOT be able to do such. I’m a liberal and while I don’t agree with all of John’s sentiments, I appreciate that he framed his point of view in terms of the logistics of this border crisis: number of people seeking entry, shelter resources hitting capacity, the need to hire more immigration judges, etc. That’s what I was hoping this discussion was going to be. But Rebekah and Niambi’s responses tended to sidestep the logistical questions and go into policy rhetoric. And while I agree with their rhetoric, we need to discuss nuts and bolts if we want to reach solutions to apply in practical application.
