- Overall, I'd say I'm pretty dang satisfied.
Especially because Eclipsa is finally a part of things now!

Moon didn't miss, she clearly aimed at his finger deliberately to avoid killing Toffee and thus freeing Eclipsa
That was my first thought, but I wonder if there was a different reason she'd deliberately miss. She was pretty young there and had only just become queen. Had she ever been in a situation where she held responsibility over someone else's life before? Did she go there with the intention of killing him and then when it came down to it she just couldn't bring herself to take a life, even his?
Either way I don't think her missing was an accident. I'm just not sure why she changed her aim at the last minute, whether it was because of Eclipsa, because she just wasn't a killer or a bit of both.
It would have been a lot clearer if they let us hear a brief "No, this doesn't feel right-!" or something in Moon's head before she missed.
My interpretation is that since, like we see in the episode, the lizard army's whole confidence lay on the fact they thought they were indestructible Moon played that all to be a show of the prowess she had and make them give up on their own.
Luffyiscool toffee clearly reaches for her, i believe moon reacted and hit his hand. It was an unintentional consequence.
Cheddarhead7 yeah
She didn't miss. She felt Eclipsa's evil and couldn't let her free, so she aimed for his finger, which accomplishes what she wanted to achieve in the first place, which was to drive the monsters away. That's also why Eclipsa starts breaking free at the end. It's all in the contract.
Her magic is at least.
She could be faking, ever heard of a two face?
I think she's probably an evil queen with a likable personality. Some people believe she's not evil because of her personality, but when you think about it, what did you think she was going to act like? An out of control, yelling and screaming to kill everyone Monarch???? For all we know she could be a watered down bill cipher.(*I kinda hope she is*)
We will all find out what happens this is only the beginning for Star
Actually toffee isn't dead as far as we're aware. Eclipse knows toffee...they both planned things out...when queen moon was talking to eclipsa she did not say the enemies name nor gender, yet eclpisa knew it was a he.
Remember eclipsa
44:05 The best reaction to River... lol Like.... WHY DO YOU THINK THAT WOULD WORK?!?!
Thanks! I do have my moments lol
But honestly, that whole scene was a bunch of silly sauce. Still fun though!
Luffyiscool yes I just got in at season 2 end watch every episode and I love this show art and character growth and comedy
IAmZamber omg I love your reactions
IAmZamber OMG I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
IAmZamber what
What what I'm figure I'm gonna have to say whaaaaaaaat
Marco was trying to punch through Toffee's heart...
He thought Star was gone/dead and was trying to make Toffee pay
Marco was going to straight up murder Toffee for Star.
And the tears in his eyes after punching a hole through him. Damn...
holy shiet!
thanks for pointing that out
just got those Starco chills
Just saying if his friends were killed he would do the same thing
Toffee has no heart literally and emotionly. XD
@@summergamer7650 that wasn’t Toffee‘s original body, it was his new body wich he could regenerate through getting his finger and having Ludo as a vessel, so he DID have a heart
As much as I want Eclipsa to just be misunderstood, I feel like she's a master manipulator.
Well, perhaps that's why she didn't make the contract "when you use the spell" instead of "when you kill Tofi".
I think Eclipsa might've not been so bad in the past but ended giving up on the mewmans and resorted to her own methods. So for Star's side of the story she might seem evil and manipulative, but from her perspective she doesn't care about doing bad things because she sees the mewmans as evil racists anyway.
Alice Wasteland the newest trailer made her seem so bad she was like "how did that spell work out for you heheheheheheeh"
I thought that too
man this comment didn't age well
I know this is a year late but the reason Moon's spell failed to work in the final episode had nothing to do with ownership of the wand. The wand doesn't care who owns it, it'll work for anyone who gets their hands on it. The problem was that Toffee had corrupted nearly all the magic in the universe so the wand just plain didn't work at all anymore once he was free, you'll notice the wand didn't shift back into the form it had when Moon wielded it even though it usually shifts fairly quickly. Moon's magic was gone in the first part and the wands was gone by the last.
when marco says, "where's star?!", it sounded so heartfelt! i ship them! and when he FRICKIN PUNCHED toffee, he had tears in his eyes! HE CARES! HE CARES!
18:55 the sad thing is that it's confirmed in the official book of spells that the only reason he was crying was because moon's mother, Comet the chef, forgot to write down the recipe for glossaryc's favourite dessert, "pudding pie". Now he has no way of eating it again. He never cared about her. He's an asshole.
Moon calling Glossaryck "Glossy" is the cutest thing ever
"Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"
-Glossaryck to Toffee
This reference is made even better by the fact that Alan Tudyk voices Ludo (and also River, but that's not relevant).
When Moon looked down at her veins turning black - it seemed she made a quick decision to not release Eclipsa
You can see the sailor moon influences in Star's transformation
Two interesting things to note with the first two episodes: One the notice with the difference use in magic. When Moon used the spell that was suppose to kill Toffee her magic became black, tainted magic if you would. Which is really interesting because before we've been seeing pink and green magic.
The Second thing to note is how different younger River seemed compared to his older self. When he was younger he seemed more... responsible, in a sense, giving Moon the support she needed without sounding condescending and apologizing in a cute way. But now he seems like a complete and utter goof ball and Moon is the more serious one, which is interesting.
I really liked that we got more with new characters from Mewni, that was really cool to see; hope we get more of them in the future, they were great in this. I hope this season will deal with Star becoming more responsible, because as much as I love her she is really reckless and this premiere really seemed to emphasize on that fact.
So then, Glossaryck is dead? Because that's what it seems like. Star somehow managed to come back though, so I'm hoping that Glossaryck will be able to come back as well, because I love his character and it would suck if he was just dead. Same with Toffee, even though Eclipsa's crystal is cracking it seems to only be cracking a little bit, so he might not be completely dead yet. Which I hope is the case. He's a very interesting character that I wanted to get to know more of.
The ending was a little quick in my opinion, but it was still very good as a whole. Really enjoyed it and am excited for the rest of the season. Great reaction and can't wait for more! XD.
River didn't seem any different to me, he always respected Moon and gave her support but he's pretty clueless without her,
I just mean how he seems like really goofy when he's older and he just seemed a little less goofy when he was younger. At least to me.
Book Lover I think a new way to view green magic is tainted magic black and violet magic leans more on eclipsa level magic
Book Lover we don't need a lecture
Pixeldan Coolman: I wasn't giving a lecture on anything, I was just giving my own little review/thoughts.
I feel like Ludo is one of the best written characters in the show, he is not my favorite, but he has just developed so well and it really shows just how excellent the writing staff is at making a "redemption" seem believable and touching at the same time. So, even though I am hype for Eclipsa and more starco... what I am most interested in is seeing more of Ludo.
Ludo in the Wild part 2 pls
if Eclipsa breaks out then toffee probably won't come back, but maybe we will see him in more flashbacks. I loved toffee so i hope we see references to him in the future
Toffee came so close to winning. He'd pretty much rendered magic unusable by the time he left the wand, Mewni castle partially in ruins, the High Commission out of action with no way to get them back, Glossy gone, the Book of Spells gone, Moon an emotional wreck and Star, as far as he's aware anyway, either dead or trapped in a broken fragment of the wand, but he forget the most important lesson in the whole show. Never underestimate Star.
He could have not taken any chances and killed her while he was still a big magic goop monster inside the wand, or wherever exactly the whispering spell sent him and Star, but nope, he had to go the super villain route and leave her alive(ish? maybe? kinda?) to see him escape.
And now he's an icky black mess under a bit of broken masonry, magic seems to be working again and most of his achievements have been undone or will be soon. Never underestimate Star.
And also Ludo I guess, but mostly Star.
Also, I wonder if River became king of the eagles by beating one of them in a staring contest? :)
wendyheatherwood When her tapestry gets done: "Star the Underestimated"
Yep. Like he could have killed Moon, Marco and Buff Frog (mostly Moon though) after he regenerated, but then they wouldn't have the chance to really dwell on the fact that he'd won and they'd lost Star and where's the fun in that?
Vinicius Gomes The immortal monster will long be decimated
By the most powerful spell of Star the Underestimated!
lapissed Nice! But I think "the brightest spell" sounds better ;)
That didnt show Star's real self as a rebel. Its that which gains Star that power.
Queen Moon was so adorable as young ruler!
Does anyone know where the other reactions are
@@not_dzxy9503 no
She looked like Star
Damn it, it continues in NOVEMBER.
ikr, dumb
War Horse Mumbles i think it's because the hype is so big
this is all true coming back this November

psst.. just 4 month :v
When One Evil Is Vanquished, An Even Greater Evil Shall Take Its Place.
this was an amazing way to start season 3, i loved every moment of it.
awesome reaction Luffy
10:20 - I don't know. Her endless enthusiasm grates on me after a while. Especially while watching the same episodes again and again.
23:00 - Well, you don't have to behave like a super-villain to be evil. You know what they say: "He who believes he's right is the most dangerous man of all"
I'm on both sides of that debate.
Wait...Again?
My theory is Glossaryck is now in Stars homemade spell book which is why no one has ever been there.
ooooh, holy shit I actually didn't think of that, that is brilliant! It's also why it was so empty!
Overlord_Ashalon That makes sense :0 omg
24:10: Moon and Toffee totally had a Tony Stark and Loki moment!
Torchwick: ONLY I KNOW HOW THIS ALL TURNS OUT!
Griffon Grimm: TURNS OUT YA DEAD!
Notty Rainbow whats that from?
Mister Bananers RWBY volume 3 chapter 11
After watching the end.
Toffee did waaaay better than Star.
There are beings who are made of magic and if he erased all the magic some of then would be gone, but he corrupted and only unable the magic to the mewni royalty who clearly are the most dangerous and antagonize the monsters for so long.
And also destroyed the lineague by finishing star the last magic royalty user.
What a villain my man.
I call the darkness unto me
From deepest depths of earth and sea
From ancient evils unawoken
Break the one that can’t be broken
From blackest nights I pledge my soul
To crush my heart to burning coal
I summon forth a deathly power
To see my hated foe devoured!
That's the only spell i can i my head
For most of season 2 Ludo took our attention to keep Toffee an enigmatic villan with very little actual focus. In battle for Mewni the focus was more towards Toffee which kept Eclipsa in the background and even more of an enigma. This show manages to create secondary antagonists you can get more invested in than main antagonists of many others.
Also the handling of all the shipping related elements at the end of season two were definitely above average for an action comedy cartoon. There's not as many unique characters as there are in RWBY, but they have the same knack for great development of the protagonists and a very likable supporting cast.
Aaaand now Ludo's gone off to find himself again does that mean Star has an army of rats? I like the idea mainly because rats is her name spelled backwards and she really did turn it around at the end there ^_^
54:58 THE FLOOR IS MARCO
Lmao
Best set of episodes yet
The ending could have been better in my opinion, but it was still amazing as a whole.
You know you've done something great when your show's outro sounds amazing.
She didn't miss she aimed for his finger so she could scare them off with out killing anyone and so eclipsa wouldn't be freed
people forget that toffee has been the villain sense the middle of season 1, he lasted until season 3
That's not forgotten at all.
It's just that usually, if a villain takes so long to get themselves back to full strength and return to the world....
We generally expect for them to go on and... do something more.
Spending so long to bring him back, only to cancel it immediately afterwards seems... strangely anti-climactic.
I mean those who are complaining Toffee has had no real screentime, and that his arc was short, people are arguing that on the Discord or the subreddit, his arc itself vas very long, people are forgetting that, but those complaining about the payoff do have some valid points.
Star is already confirmed for a 4th season though
Because it's awesome
I have a feeling that the next season will be a revelation of everything
H o L y S h I t thank you for being the first reactor to not edit this and keep your talking to a minimum this was the only way i could watch it and im glad i reacted with you. ya earned a sub!
Cheers! I'm just not afraid to stand up for my rights.
A lot of reactors are terrified of copyright claims and it makes them edit / change the episode.
I simply appealed my claim, and omg the video is back up! So difficult!! [/sarcasm]
wow, i’m just realizing. katrina says “shes gonna die.”
star actually DOES die.
i never thought about it. that’s really dark honestly. if she didn’t dip down into the stew, she really would have been permanently dead.
"I really like the mime. She's quickly winning me over."
Well _of course_ she is; she's an _artistic _*_genius!_*
" how does your oatmeal taste"
"Like empty nothingness" -Marco Diaz
I think Toffee might actually be dead, which is slightly agrivating because I was hoping to see more of his personality than what we have seen and what we've been told. I just feel like this didn't give us enough of HIM. I was ready to see him throw down with Moon or Star in the magic goop realm...instead he just walks away. That boss battle you were hoping for would've been enough for me, it'd be nice to see HIM DOING something, as opposed to acting through Ludo...I dunno, I guess I was just hyping myself up too much. The episode was good, I was just left slightly disappointed with Toffee's end.
As for the reaction, it was fun as always. it's nice to see someone who didn't watch the spoilery trailer about Moon, her mom, and Eclipsa. I avoided them and I'm glad I did.
Plus there is always the possibility of them needing information or help from Toffee in the future... (This is where Tom comes into play, as with Toffee almost certainly being dead at this point they would need to bring him back from that if they needed his help with anything, and Tom is basically a necromancer...)
I wish we could see more of him too, because he's na awesome villain, but I'm glad he didn't end like most villains, he doesn't waste time with monologues explaining his entire plan or his motivation and backstory, he goes straight to the point, executes his plan, and moves on, not caring at all about those who no longer play any part in it, that leaves his motivations still quite misterious and makes him rather unique and menacing in my opinion.
My thoughts exactly.
Ghoste Writer
In my personal opinion, SvtFoE as a whole was a cool idea in concept but it wasn't really executed too well.
the crystal cracked instead of broke so he might be dying but not dead? maybe we will get one or two more episode before he truly dies and the crystal breaks completely
Marco looks traumatized
Its still crazy to look back at this and see that Toffee actually won here, he got rid of magic, he made the wand totally useless, no magic users could do anything, and then of course Star defied the laws of physics and came back to life while reviving magic.
But the best part about Toffee winning is that getting rid of magic is what they needed to do even for the finale of Svtfoe. Magic had become so arrogant and dangerous that Star had to get rid of it, and even she herself admitted saying "I guess this means Toffee was right". And he was too, Magic was the enemy all along
I enjoyed it so much but people been saying that the ending "sucks" and that it was rush. Due to the fact that Star just killed Toffee straight up. I think it just showed her power and what she's capable of doing I enjoyed this so much and even tho I had to wait a few less months then everyone else (since i found it like 2 or 1 month after season 2 final) I still think it was worth the wait. THIS EPISODE WAS EPICCC!
x Stacy x it sucked because of how minor it is to the real evil
I love all of these because how they react to Stars voice when she says...
*"Where's Toffee?"*
That voice though at 1:34:16
Here's an interesting question so Glossoric is gone and the star is now whole and Ludo no longer has it so why use the half star, ludo with the wand and glossoric in the opening I think that they might change the opening in the future
Jesus finally someone i know reacting to this Yay :D
It sounds like you missed the horrific spoilers/trailer and I'm glad you did, this was a great reaction
I really hope Season three will be great well with the other episodes.
Also this season has been pretty enjoyable. Really great to see everyone again etc...
Wow dude, that was a quick response for a nearly 3 year old video! Thanks!
I literally just got into SvTFoE and so clearly only found this channel lately but your reactions are great!
Thank you and welcome to the channel!
After I'm done uploading MLP and Overlord I'll be reacting to more of Star!
Awesome to hear! I'll be checking out the MLP videos in the mean time. Keep up the good work
If Eclipsa can kill the unkillable, I hope she can can bring back the dead as well *wink wink*
I thought when the crystal cracked, it was because of Eclipsa and Moon's purple cracks/veins on their arm which spread through the crystal.
Your face when Star started transforming was the best!
Glossaryk left a magic ball of pudding for star
Luffy! Where you been? I caught Kickass' reaction for the latest Star Vs the FOE TV film first, but I'm glad you're back to see it for yourself!
And DAMN! (@ 15:03) That went dark! And that reunion between Marco and Star? I saw that at San Diego Comic-Con as both a table read and the actual clip and the reaction from the fans? PRICELESS!
I think Star just pulled a Lina Inverse and became the Lord Of Nightmares.
But yeah, I know there's a lot of interpretations of what happened there, but as a Slayers fan, that's mine. :P
If you look closely Eclipsa's arm was more closer to her body in Moon's flashback, Than it was in the end of the episode.
Glossaric doesn't have feelings he just flipped to that page to give her the idea to talk to eclipsa
What I love most about this set of episodes is how genuinely disturbing the last one got. Everything, especially Toffee's expressions over the entire course of the episode actually made me really uncomfortable.
Also, take a shot everytime someone says "dead" or "die" in this set of episodes. Wasn't there a time when cartoons never even dared to say that sort of stuff? Seriously, I admire this, for lack of a better word, bluntness.
I love that they made this Sailor Moon style it has the word Moon in it though 😂
Wow at 1:19:20 you said out loud what almost every Starco fan was thinking at that part. Respect.
57:13 that face star though :v
1:11:00 no, they're actually gonna get married.
1:23:50
Queen moon looks like she's about to give Marco the hardest bitch slap ever
looks like a dab to me
1:16:47 I think the elevator theme is a variation of the Great King Ludo is Great song.
I don't have Disney XD, and I couldn't find this anywhere on the website. You are a god damn livesaver, Luffy.
Alphys Hedge a lot of youtubers currently have it on youtube
The goat man could have just brought moons mom back to life
He can't bring back the dead. Those with black eyes aren't dead.
Just watched the first 5 mins and automatically subscribed 😂😂
OH MAN, it feels great to hear your voice again Luffy. Been a while haha. Still absolutely LOVE your reactions tho dood ;)
Stuff like this, and the constant use of the word "die" and "kill" makes me rather wish MLP got a bit of a rating upgrade, I'm not talking PG-14, but I'd love for them to be able to go for more, "mature" stories without having to skirt around the TV-Y rating.
Ditto. The show tries to grow up with its audience and tackle more mature themes, but atm i feel that it isnt as effective as it could be due to the rating holding them back a great deal.
True, as much as I love MLP FIM; and I love it like crazy, I just think that they could do a little more story telling if their rating was a little higher then it was. Nothing too graphic or anything, just so they can use the words dead and stuff like that. Like when Sombra blew up, we know he's dead, but really young kids might not understand that.
Yeah.
TBH, one thing I find unlikely but would like them to do is give one of the mane six a genuine love interest.
Preferably AppleJack, cause she could definitely use more storytelling engines (let me put it this way, we almost all love Perfect Pear and Where the Apple Lies was just alright, but that's two seasons in a row we went back to the past for the Apple Family, which has me worried they're kinda running out of ideas for AppleJack).
That is very true with the love interest thing, letting them have a love interest would be a way to tell more mature story telling, but because of the rating they probably won't. And yeah, The Mane Attraction was probably the best Applejack episode, while The Perfect Pear was more of a whole complete Apple family episode. Applejack seems to be written the best when she's helping others in some way.
theslyfox: Well remember this series was originally meant to be for little girls, adults just ended up unexpectedly loving it. I wouldn't mind a love interest if it was done right.
for some reason I imagine that soup being really salty

God damn is star strong she got killed came back out of thin god damn air and not even using a spell destroyed a immortal creature but think about that star dying and coming back sounds insane
Man it's weird that this show just ended. I think Luffy's react videos got me into it in the first place, whereas I had dropped it after a few episodes when it originally aired. It's too bad you didn't continue doing these.
I'll be reacting to season 4 when I get the chance!
@@luffyiscool Oh yes please!
@@luffyiscool yes plz!😍😍Also it's very unfortunate you couldn't able to react to season 3 due to certain reasons afterwards also is there anyway we could watch the rest?continuing from this very episode!plzzzzz☹
I feel so sorry for moon, she had to grow up in 1 day and had almost no childhood
1:02:13 nah, he changed his last name after marrying Moon. He's River Butterfly now.
am I the only one who enjoyed the ending?
No? Several reactors including myself were very happy.
Especially because of Star's awesome form and the Eclipsa reveals.
Why on earth would you think you were the only one?
I see praise or fan freak out for these episodes wherever I go.
Luffyiscool I only say that is because some comments are saying that the ending was bad because toffee was treated like a chump because he didn't see think that star would have gotten stronger but I honestly really enjoyed it.
Yeah, also why did everyone expect toffee to "battle moon or star to the death" because that does not fit his character. He just goes straight to the point. Plus he already did so much why would he do anymore after he accomplished his main goal?
In none of the reactions I've seen has anyone pointed out that Toffe has Eclipsa's symbol on his armor's shoulder pads.
Alice Wasteland lets say it's a family thing because moons mom looked like she had blue markings
11:42
Oh my god, I can't wait for the 10-hour loop video of that bit!
Here's a question no one's asking: why is Star American and the rest of Mewni is a variety of British?
38:35 This is exactly how I exploded:
Glossaryck, you....@#$%^&!!! What the HELL, man?! You're supposed to be ALL POWERFUL, and you LET THIS HAPPEN!! You did NOTHING TO STOP IT?! You've freaked out over things FAR LESS IMPORTANT THAN THIS! I mean you CLEARLY could've done SOMETHING TO STOP SOMETHING AS BAD AS THIS! You have BEFORE on OTHER TRIVIAL THINGS! Moon Purposely missed that shot just to imprison Eclipsa. What we have gathered on our information, We can't see Eclipsa's bad deeds but base on moon's decision Eclipsa IS Evil. Afterall, moon did read her "Forbidden" Chapter.
Zenix And Memes she didn't read her chapter but she probably did ask who owned it and since she was kinda young for it she probably asked Eclipsa herself to teach her since it was the darkest chapter how could you not suspect the writer knew how to destroy everything even the immortals
I'm pretty sure Moon missed Toffee's heart on purpose, because she wanted Eclipsa to stay imprisoned.
Ludo is bad ass
It is actually confirmed that Toffee and Rosticore are the same species and yes they just look different.
YAY Star's BACK
From Oswald to Star vs The Forces Of Evil, I now know 2 cute babies named Katrina.
It was kinda weird how Star was golden when she dipped down. You'd think it would be pink or something because that's the magic she has always used, but nah, they threw gold in there. It was weird going from pink and green to suddenly gold and black. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but it threw me off a bit. Maybe it's because her favorite color is yellow? I don't know, I'm sure there is a reason that we just don't quite know yet.
Tina Currier I think it's to match the color of a Star which is usually Yellow like they match the color of Moon's butterfly form from the moon which is usually blue. (In cartoon logics ofcourse, not realisticly because stars have different colors and the moon is always colorless.)
Tina Currier and since eclipses are usually dark, chances are Eclipsa's butterfly form would be black and white. Like the solar eclipse.
Tina Currier maybe thats' magics purest form and color
Moon is racist against monsters. Plays a game that is racist towards her and she feels salty af
wheres the other half of season 3
This show is really good. Never have I seen a show where the princess magic trope was subverted and monsters were humanized (wow, Wishvesh, wow) in such a long span of the show.
It's about prejudices. Many people angry over Eclipsa not being an actual villain but a fun girl and that showrunners backed out of the concept but like I said, Prejudices. Everyone said she's Evil, her paintings being like that and all.
I kinda doubt Toffee's entirely gone. He did say after all that "only I know how this all turns out!..."
Ludo and the book...?
I ship it
11:41 best scene in all of The Battle For Mewni
Luffy's reacting to The Battle For Mewni! I'll get the popcorn!
I'VE WAITED SO LONG
Dude. This episode (set) blew me away.
Glossryck finds it insulting that he's dead and Star believes she herself is too. But theoretically, I'm thinking she's stuck in limbo.
Actually, I really think Moon missed her spell on purpose.
Because she knew that once Toffee got killed, Eclipsa would be free and it's extremely dangerous.
Instead of killing Toffee, end of the war it's what she truly wanted.
1:34:24 Star: Oh Toffee... SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND! (Blasts him)
I wish mlp has something like this
Mutton Bash It has.
It does, but it can't say stuff like dead or kill. I think that they could do way more story telling if they had a slightly higher rating. Nothing too graphic mind you, but still; they could get away with more if their rating was a little higher.
megamagneton3 mlp has never had a 4 part premiere or finale.
Mutton Bash like every 2 parter is like this, just not quite as dark
Mutton Bash oh you meant 4 parter.
eh I'm content with the 2 parters we get
