I hope and pray that someone pointed that out to her before she died. Mom you turned into your own mother, enjoy the irony of being someone you hate so much. I am glad that OP had her grandfather for most of her childhood to balance out her home life, and that in the end her left her protected in that last video. I am also glad that she finally stood up to her toxic family and the courts sided with her. Her mother, sister and even her silent father got what the deserved in the end, although OP will never really get what she fully deserved, a decent and loving childhood at home with the love of two parents. My parents treated the oldest son as Golden Boy. He was the neighborhood A-hole. Other neighborhood parents hated him, he was constantly terrorizing and beating up their kids. I grew up in my friend's homes. On weekend mornings the sun would creep thru the window and I would bust out of bed, get dressed and out the back door to my friends house. It was early and I would knock
on their back door. My friend's mom would open the their back door in her bath robe, turn around and go right back to bed.
It was 6 am. I think back now and realize what a saint she was. She knew about my brother and tried to help with what she could.
I would sit on the couch downstairs watching tv until my friend woke up. She was truly a Saint.
I quit visiting my parents decades ago. My mother is in the nursing home still sulking over every little thing possible.
She was miserable and she chose to make herself that way. I can honestly tell you that Manifestation is real. Her belief system
was centered around being the victim.

I can't help but think the OP's mother lied about her little sister getting "ALL" the attention.
She was probably a narcissist from the moment she drew breath, and her parents giving her sister ANY attention caused her to develop hatred for not only her sister, but her parents as well.
The mother was an evil, nasty human being, and the sister was a chip off the old block.
Dad was just a simp who didn't have the will or the guts to stand up for his younger daughter.
An evil in its own right.

It's funny how entitled the mother was. She went to the same exterms her parents did. I almost wonder if the aunt was even spoiled. If the mom just lost her shit over any attention her sister got. My sister would act like that when my mom gave me any attention which she had to do because of my autism.
I notice the dad is never mentioned again so I wonder if he divorced his crazy wife or after her death he tried to start fresh. Because he was super spineless. In sure sister will try to get back at op if she finds out she is rich.

It does NOT mention that the OP is now rich, just that her college fund was returned and that the AH garbage of a sister had to pay 5000 in penalties to her. ( should have been much mush higher as in move the decimal point over up two. Instead of 5000. make the minimum penalty 500,000. to be paid to the sister. Also a PUBLIC retraction of the libel , slander and defamation of character that the AH sister did. Oh, also, remove that child from that AH sister Lori. Something that FOUL should NEVER be in charge of a pet ROCK, much less a human child.

This could have been a story about my life. Except my brother stole the inheritance money. My dad dying with brain cancer wanted my mom to always have a home for herself and if anything happened to any of us 4 grown children we would always have a home. Fast forward 40 years later. Dad died from brain cancer and the inheritance was gone brother kept almost all of it. My share went to buy a house for my mom, I wanted to keep my dad’s dreams alive. A sister stole from her kids, her worthless husband got into drugs. 4 grown kids, 3 untrained pit bulls and 1 weeny dog not house broke destroyed the home. I was told that mom had a Will where she was leaving the house to us 4 grown kids and her favorite grand daughter. Not anymore. Mom is giving her house to the drug sister. I have disowned them all. We have had my worthless siblings life with us at one time and or another and never received a thank you.

I never even realized this was something that parents did to children, "Child favoritism" until i was 25 years old and I heard about my girlfriends family. In my family we were 4 brothers and we were all completely different from eachother but our parents always treated us equally. Every one of us got the same number of gifts, if different but always equal value, we all got the same lessons , whether sports or music. I couldn't have imagined a family where that wasn't the case, it just never made any sense to me. I feel so bad the kids that had to grow up with such awful terrible people as parents

I am assuming OP was 18 at the time she retained the lawyer - a I am sure it was on contingency (which means if she got $80K, then she they sued them for much more).
