Honestly, the Op should have gotten suspicious when daddy dearest move his new wife into his son's home, instead of trying to find somewhere else to live out his new life with his new partner. I bet the dad lied and said that the house was his, and was allowing Op to use it for a time. Girl thought she hit a jackpot when she was really living in a lie. Op should honestly kick the dad out anyway, because he is only being taught that his dear son will help him when everything in his life goes to the dogs. It has been too long for this grown man, who has gone and got married to his affair partner, to still be living with his son.
I think the fact that his Dad had been fired from his job and was job-hunting probably made OP feel sorry for him. More sorry than he rightly deserved, but he was going through a lot (making his own way in life, his parents breaking up and divorcing, his Dad having an affair.) Still, I would have put a stop to it sooner, but it is easy for me to judge when it is not my parents we are talking about. The people who gave you life have a different place in your heart, whether you want to admit it or not. At least, if you have a good relationship with them. If you don’t, I suppose it would be easier to draw the line and kick them out.
His biggest mistake was HONORING his father's request not to tell his wife that the son really owned that house. She thought the father owned the house and the kid was the one staying there rent free. Because he was about to start a new relationship with a woman close to his own age and was afraid of his stepmother being rude or inappropriate and ruining the visit I would have sat down with BOTH my step mother AND father the day before the visit and explained to them that I am the owner of the house and if either of them does or says anything that ruins my visit with my new potential girlfriend then I will immediately evict them both and never allow them back in my house AT ALL not even for a brief visit.
Needed to do it before that day, far enough ahead that either Patricia could come to terms with it, or be out of the house. As it happened, it sems like OP was using this meeting with Viola just to tick on another unnecessary reason to kick Patricia out, when he already has sufficient reasons. Patricia's not going to turn on a dime, and would probably fight to stay.
Yep. The men are the liars here. Dad probably whispered lies about the son to keep her quiet. And OP himself kept up a bro code ruse against her that now she's made into the evil one? No. She is responsible for what she did to the 1st wife. But this 2nd issue was all caused by bro code deception. Of course she was misled to think the son was freeloading in her home and felt expected to clean. I agree with you. Viola should run. Had she known from the start, an agreement of chores could have been worked out.

You did the right thing by telling your father you would not be blackmailed by him. If he wants to come to your wedding that would be great but not to bring his wife she is a trouble maker.
Dad was allegedly moving in until he got his act together. By the 8-month mark, he would have been on notice that his tenancy was coming to an end. As for the juice glass, I would have smashed it ending that nonsense and putting her on notice that her opinion didn't matter in my house. The wine would have been locked up preventing her and her friends from guzzling it down. OP let that go on far too long.
Op should go ahead and make his dad move out too. I don’t see any way to keep Patricia out of the house when op and Viola are out. Dad has already proven that he doesn’t care about op’s feelings or safety by trying to get him to let the witch back in. The dad will do whatever the witch wants, whether it hurts op and Viola or not.
On the topic of weird timing with the OP's decisions, it looks like he did NOT kick her out immediately after ruining his chances with his new girlfriend (he did not yet know that he would be able to salvage that relationship at a later time and even if he had known even TRYING to ruin a relationship is crossing the line). Somehow at a later date he only kicked her out in response to her threatening to kick him out. (that was VERY nervy of her because even though she thought her husband owned the house, even IF she had been right about that what made her so sure that he would kick his own son out to please her? Pretty presumptuous if you ask me?).
Dad told her he's the one mooching. It's the reason why he told his son not to say anything. She was frustrated with Op because dad lied to her. She thought a mooch should pitch in more around the house. She had no idea they were the mooch. Op is mad at the wrong person.
I love mom! That petty speech at the wedding was so YUMMY! She's my hero! Dude, I would have told dad look, you both need to go because I cannot live with this woman anymore.. If he keeps her staying then both will be evicted... He's being too good of a son..

It's so twisted how OP is still feeling sorry for his dad. He is not a victim but the instigator of all the problems. No evil can seduce a good and virtuous man. She's guilty but your dad is the main culprit.
Yeah I wouldn't date him. He makes excuses for his dad and blame the affair partner he will do the same find an excuse to cheat. Look how he talks about the women in his life how his mom cooked cleaned made time making the perfect wife and that's what he expects from the GF. He wrote how he was sure what his mother did at the wedding had a reason. Like its a mystery like he is so blind to what that reason was. He describes the GF physically but not personality. Op is more Ike his father than he relies so many red flags.
I disagree. I think OP is the worst person in the story. How dare they seek sympathy when all their suffering came as a result of them being so stupid and passive.
Yeah OP constantly goes 'I'd never hurt Viola', but given he views his dad like a sort of victim I wouldn't really trust him either. You can learn a lot about a person by looking at the company they keep sometimes
I thought the same thing. He cheated on his wife,he took out a bank loan, and he lied to his new wife, saying he owned the house, etc. Patricia saw her stepson as a bum because dad communicated that to her. Dad is far from the victim, but he sure as heck is an instigator of them.

BUT NOOOOO, she thinks the house belongs to OP's dad. There's no reason OP's dad and new wife cannot get a job and an apartment. OP's stepmom trying to ruin his date. Yeah, OP has every reason to toss stepmom out. Am so happy SM didn't ruin OP's chances with Viola.⭐⭐⭐
honestly the glass incident OP should have told there father "dad i love you but if your wife crosses the line one more time, you got 30 days to get out" and walk out.
What I noticed that is weird is why op let her stay in the first place. Second if violet really didn't want to date op because she thought he would leave her she wouldnt have agreed to a first date. Story has too many holes. This one really feels like bad fanfic. For a dude who conned a girl on the internet and she was like nope when she realized he still lived with his parents. Probably says he does freelance but actually just the aging single adult male who just plays video games all day.
this sounds likje a drastically different culture then my own with how he constantly speaks of the women and their "roles" as if it was natural and expected
Whoa; hang on. After the honeymoon, the wife was referred to as Olivia. I paused the video and said: "I thought her name was Patricia." A sentence or two later, yes, back to Patricia. More to come as I watch more of this video.
I just watched this now and noticed that picked up on it i was thinking before this story maybe the most recent one before this there was a character name Olivia and was in voice narrator head so mis spoke it by mistake
In loving life OP, she took someone else’s opinion of you know she’s not as good as you think I can’t believe she said yes to a date that was cruel to you.
I would have laid down the law with Patricia from day one. "You are a GUEST in my home. You will clean up after yourself, and are not to change curtains, blinds, rugs, or anything."
This OP is the worst kind of person. Whiny and "woe is me" when OP is 100% responsible for knowingly inviting a monster into their life AND NEVER KICKING THEM OUT! This OP deserves to live a ruined life. But I'm only halfway thru the story, hopefully OP experiences even more mistreatment because that's all they deserve.
All right this is my honest opinion about the whole entire story in all honesty I'm proud that Op finally stood up for himself got that terrible bitch of a woman named Patricia out of his house finally stood up to his dad and told him off that not everything's about him and everything evolves around him just because you know he's Op's father and I think it's overall great that Op showed how much control he has over his life versus anybody else not only that I'm happy that he ended up with the person he wanted to be with and marry and I'm glad that he's a wonderful person who wants to take care of his future wife and even his future stepdaughter
I posted above that it was ENOUGH that he was allowing his father and a woman that by all rights he should hate for ruining his parent's marriage live with them indefinitely and rent free. He should have told Patricia who really owns that house with the threat of eviction if she misbehaves. He put off doing that too long and at the very least he could have sat her and her husband down in the living room the day before the expected visit from his new girlfriend and explained to them that the visit is very important to him and if EITHER of them ruin it with their behavior he will immediately evict them both and never allow them back even for brief visits. Hell, he could even suggest that they go out to dinner and a movie or something so that they are not there at all for a few hours and to really entice them I would have even paid for it myself.
Wrong move to allow Dad and wife live in his home without a contract including expenses, chores, food & length of time to stay in his house. Give some folks an inch they take a mile, your $ and you for their fool !!
My step father came into my house like Lord of the Manor when he got my mom. She was a widow, my father passed away leaving a house, insurance, and his pension from being a County Engineer. Step was making minimum wage and sharing an apartment with his mother. I was only under the same roof with him for 2 years when I got thrown out one night, with no car and no where to go. I was 18 but a girl with no real life experience. I got by but it was a horrible shock to me.
If Violet can take someone else is worried about OP maybe they shouldn’t be together yes, she went on a date but she needs to get his side to his stepmother is ruining his life and I don’t know why
Definitely not, you should of kicked them out a long time ago. You don't owe them anything. If they want to take advantage of you like they are the A-hole not you.
Should have booted Dad and Viola at the same time. And told Dad flat out at the beginning that you're not going to lie about who owns the house. Dad is an adult so he needs to take care of his own problems SOMEWHERE else.
Op was a strong man. Ops Father is so blind. I don't think Op is crazy he loves his dad. Oh Ops mothers revenge was Classic. Perfect outfit for a wedding. Perfect toast as well. I love it. Lol
I so want another update. Lol. I personally would not even consider the Dad's wife as a Step anything. Step Parents are for children not adults. She is the Dad's wife, nothing more. He has way more patience than anyone I know. Dad and his new wife would have been kicked out WAY SOONER. I am wondering if OPs reasoning was "culture related"? Some cultures expect to take care of their Elders.
All those months and Dad hasn't got a Job? My father was never out of a job for more than a month or so. And my father was a a**hole in 98% of everything else he did.
You did good by getting step-mom out of your house, never let her back!! Enjoy your life and wedding !!

OP's stepmother apparently was told by OP's dad that HE owned OP's house. Yep, she thinks OP's dad is rich. She should have been more able to see that OP is the bread winner in the house.
OP is a doormat.
I love your voice. It's very mellow.
daddy and the step mama should’ve been tossed out like uncle Phil does jazz on the fresh prince of bel air 👏🏿🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can't believe he let's the father still stay rent free. He can get a job washing dishes.
Got unreasonably happy when I heard OP and Vila became an item 🥰
Also.. how do I find these threads as they're happening? I'd like to offer helpful comments 🤗
Thanks in advance!
Your dad would be better off single or with just a girlfriend with her own home
Hell naw you definitely not the asshole..you the man.,..I admire your courage and determination...👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
OP could have ended all this by standing up for himself
My wine collection would have been locked up!
Brilliant I love these stories
this sounds likje a drastically different culture then my own with how he constantly speaks of the women and their "roles" as if it was natural and expected
Whoa; hang on. After the honeymoon, the wife was referred to as Olivia. I paused the video and said: "I thought her name was Patricia." A sentence or two later, yes, back to Patricia. More to come as I watch more of this video.
Probably a slip up with her real name.
Love that mom
Not the AH. You have a right to have peace in your home and life
I would have laid down the law with Patricia from day one. "You are a GUEST in my home. You will clean up after yourself, and are not to change curtains, blinds, rugs, or anything."
Congratulations on your marriage
Gg
She was frustrated over the stepson mooching; it's what she was told. Dad is the cause of the entire shit fest.
Wrong move to allow Dad and wife live in his home without a contract including
expenses, chores, food & length of time to stay in his house. Give some folks an
inch they take a mile, your $ and you for their fool !!
Shame on your mom for putting he new guy above blood.
Dude you put up with more than I did and kudos for finding happiness...lov rocks on
I don’t know of a single soul in this world that would allow a stepmother to treat & do them that way. It makes it seem unbelievable.
If Violet can take someone else is worried about OP maybe they shouldn’t be together yes, she went on a date but she needs to get his side to his stepmother is ruining his life and I don’t know why
Ease him out of the house. He is trying to control you.
Kick the step mom out! She has no respect for you and wants to use you as an ATM
Your fault for ALLOWING THEM IN YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!
Op needs to get an upgraded security system.
Do not let her back into your house and if your dad wants to be with her so bad tell your dad to go be with her outside of your house
It’s your home, don’t let her make you uncomfortable in your own home.
Great response to her OP
He was not the ahole for sueing Pat's cousin but that is not standing up for yourself because the lawyer stood up for him.
Why doesn’t his father go with his wife?
Op was a strong man. Ops Father is so blind. I don't think Op is crazy he loves his dad. Oh Ops mothers revenge was Classic. Perfect outfit for a wedding. Perfect toast as well. I love it. Lol
OP should have told his dad off sooner and kick him out.
I would not even tell the father when the wedding will take place or where. I would kick him out and go no contact until after the wedding.
