Thanks for the review! I just ordered 2 of them from their actual website and got a discount for being a Veteran as well. Also, great video in general. Stay strong brother, and hope nothing but the best for you and your wife.
Got mine for Father’s Day. I love it. Bless you sir for your love and caring. I’m also caring for a lady with a brain issue. My wife has an inoperable tumor, she is currently receiving radiation treatment. So far she is displaying some personality changes, mostly anger. It’s a challenge, I’m sure you are aware. After a while, she returns, apologizes, and cries. We love through it. I’m 65 and she is 61 and we live near the beach in Alabama. I used to ride but gave it up after a couple of back surgeries, I had a Sturgis and a 63 FL. Getting old isn’t for sissies. Best of everything to you both and happy hunting. I’m retired USAF and she is a retired OR nurse. Every day is a winding road.
Hello Frank. Thank you for taking the time to comment. We have much in common. I hope you keep in touch. We have quiet a number of viewers like us on this channel. Make sure you watch some of our upcoming videos, I may give you a shout out on one of them. Take care my brother.
We've had one for a few years now. The first thing I learned was not to shoot myself in the foot with it. The next thing I learned was not to shoot flies that were on plants. It is reliable & does what it says it does.
I'm a caregiver too, for my husband who has two brain injuries and a stroke at age 53. I too purchased a Bug-A-Salt... I spend all of my free time outside listening to a baby monitor and resting my RA ankles. This gun is amazing. It changed my life. I love it. It's the best thing I've purchased for myself in two decades. I'm getting good enough to shoot flies and mosquitoes out of the air. This is an amazing invention.
God bless you and your family. I just bought this - it's great! I tend to find a distant shots works well to immobilise and stun the bug, then you'll take a closer shot to actually kill it.
Well put together video. And it's an awesome fly killing machine. But its built to fail. I've had my 2.0 and it still works. My 3.0 took a crap way before, & its a design flaw. I contacted Bug-A-Salt and told them about their design flaw with their strong spring being mated to the inferior plastic connecting rod that is used to mate the piston and spring together. It almost seems like its built to intentionally break after being used for so long. I found this out after mine broke and I took it apart. I tried to get it repaired by them, but they said they didn't & that mine was out of the warranty period. I told them about their design flaw & they said they couldn't warranty mine, but that they were willing to send me a refurbished one. The refurb seems to still be working. But my 2.0 has been more reliable even though the burst is not as strong as the 3.0. Here's my video of the 3.0 problem: Watch "Bug-A-Salt 3.0 quit working..." on RUclips ruclips.net/video/HcoRvI-A5LY/видео.html
Water guns with Dawn dishwashing liquid will kill your wasps and hornets, it works great! And for big nests wait until around dark, when they have settled in and get them with a big cup of the soapy water or a tea pitcher, blue dawn and mixing good , don't hesitate, and move off to watch them drop! Do not attempt this on large wood hornets nest in which the insects are inside, it works on open wasp nests and ground hornets the best!
Just killed a giant wolf spider last night. You need a follow up shot with bigger bugs. First shot jacked him up and it was stunned than I hot him with the kill. So fun!!
I've had mine for about 4 or 5 years now, and I reckon that I've killed at least 2000-3000 flies and probably a lot more. I killed 111 flies the first 2 days that I had it. It is very durable and still operates perfectly.
Snagged up the 2.5 then had to have the 3.0, just cuz, and let's just say my house has a new family game day: BUG WARS!!! Also got a couple of electric flyswatters so the kiddos can join in on the fun too. Oh, and I'm new here so I wanted to say thanks for the input good buddy and, if I may, you seem like a fun guy to hang out with and also a FANTASTIC husband!!! Please do more videos!
Love the review! Got mine today and I am impressed. Your video is much more informative than mine. I am happy to join forces with you to wage war against these pests.
If you use this in a kitchen there will be lots of salt everywhere... in the rest of the house the salt kind of dissapeared into the carpet and furniture. But it's worth it to reach the bugs when they land on the ceiling out of reach for a swatter.
If your weapon stops working, it probably has dryed salt inside it. You can completely submerge it in water for awhile. Then hang up and drain it two days. Be sure to insure its lowest part has a place to completely drain. It worked for me.
I've been looking at these for a while. Currently here in the UK the 3.0 version is priced at £49.99 which according to Google converts to $69.20 USD, I believe there's shipping on top of that too which makes this a rather expensive toy in my opinion. I'd love to have one for fun but I'm not ready to spend that kind of money on it. I'll wait until I see a deal on them, or maybe if one comes up used. Good video though, thanks for sharing.
Could we think outside the box and use Epsom salt for ammo? Outside it would feed the garden magnesium and kill bugs instead of poison table salt....your welcome.
Sir, I kindly salute you from the Netherlands. I liked your video and wish upon you and your family many good and happy times. It seems you do not need my wishes for you create your own happy times which in turn makes me happy. It rubs off so to say. Kindest regards.
Sorry to hear about your wife's condition. As for your video, I was given a Bug-A-Salt a couple of years ago and joined your war. Unfortunately, my weapon failed early in my war. I did get a kick out of your efforts. Try mouse traps next?
Waiting for mine to come! Hey, what I REALLY want to know is how the heck do you trim your beard so PRECISLEY!? Honest question, I want to do mine like that! I grow a beard once a year for a few months before spring, and right now mine looks like a road map to China...HELP!
Ha, I never had anyone ask that before. I have a very thick beard and I prefer to keep it short. I use an electric beard trimmer once a week to keep it even.
I have used it on wasps. It knocks them down pretty good. Then I finish them off by stepping on them. Cost is much more than a fly swatter, more fun though. $40.
My experience with larger insects like wasps and hornets has been mixed. It’s not designed for them. It will knock them down and sometimes damage their wings. I have a new video going up on Sunday on a wasp/hornet trap. Thank you for the comment on my wife. We have a positive story to tell.
Since you weren't messing with actual flies (thanks to a pretty sick bunch of people and the policies they've triggered), why not have held it your measuring tape, and shown us the ACTUAL distance (from the muzzle) at which various shots were taken? Thanks for the review though. I got mine for $35 at a local sporting goods store.
Good review. You want it to go viral? Redo it facetiously in full chamo gear, talk about how you are going for very dangerous prey. (True, the spread hepatitis) Study reviews of high powered rifles and shotguns and then tie it up with a proud display of all the deadly prey you have taken down and now have mounted on the wall. (Pan to all the trophies you have mounted with pins on a white cork board) And sell em to restaurants where flies and annoying pests, loan em out to customers who would be delighted to take care of such minor details. "Today we are going to review a new weapon specialized for one of the deadliest creatures on the planet..."
I bought this for my dad for father's day. He was like a kid with a new toy. I've never seen him so happy to find a moth in the house.
Great fun 😂 My wife just rolled her eyes when I got it, but was grateful when I knocked over a spider 😂

Great review there Fella. I loved your stick on cut out flies aluminum target. Well done. 👍

Now you've got a very salty house

I did not know that I need this until I see it in this video. Is going to be fun getting rid of flies.
I just ordered these salt rifle, thanks for the video.

Just so everyone knows I've seen one of these drop flies from well over 10 ft away
Looks like a fun gun, thanks for your input. Definitely going to buy one

SHOW THIS TO FATHER GARCIA ;)
*Dont be afraid John!*
I just heard on the news that they are full automatic. ✌🏻🇺🇸
I would have never thought flies would be so uncooperative.
Boys and their toys.... right, Lynne...?? glad to see you're feeling better, Jon...!!!
Lynne says, right Peggy.

Works good on spiders too
We the people .....yeeeeaaaahhhh
A salt weapon. Nice.
Everyone thinks you need to be within 3 ft this thing will eliminate a fly from way across the room
Nice video and review! I wonder if you can use a kosher salt or will it jam up chamber?
Why didn't you show how to fill the salt chamber ?
I have 4 of theses . 2 2.0s and 2 3.0s there great.
What's the difference between them?
@@briangriffith4574 3.0 more powerful.
This video is really cool 👍😁
Could we think outside the box and use Epsom salt for ammo? Outside it would feed the garden magnesium and kill bugs instead of poison table salt....your welcome.
Is that true?
Don't leave outside very long, cause humidity will clog inner workings. I keep mine inside when I'm done saving the world.
At around 4:23 there was a live target buzzing around . Would of been hilarious to see you shoot from the hip at nail that bogey
It’s an a-salt gun, can you own it in cal where most of the fly’s come from
does it kill flies though? or does it just sort of blow them away?
Great review! Nice Kepi, re-enactor?

I just bought it and you have to shoot a fly lots of times to kill it
-Well, Where do you buy these plastic pump guns. Walmart? Online? You did not say.
I bought ours on Amazon. They are readily available online. I do not sell them and have no ties to the company. Just reviewing the product.
@@thelynnelife1893 -Thanks a lot. Then i too will go with Amazon because i deal with them all the time and never once had a problem with them.

we need a wasp assault around here. How much was that firearm?

Not a firearm but a pest eliminator.

The bug a salt gun is a good idea because I've been my mossberg maverick 12 gauge and I find it's a little overkill.
Dont waste your money, Chinese invented fly body armor and are working on same for roaches.
Good vid
Respect to u bro
Can I just say you're a amazing man, hope your wife is as well as possible
kosher?
Flies are uncooperative! 😆
Amazing angel
Will sugar work for larger bugs
I would not try sugar due to the fact that it is sticky and may clog the gun. A course salt like Kosher salt may work. though I have not tried it.
@@thelynnelife1893 Thankyou for your response
Can it kill hornets safely? Thanks
It’s not powerful enough to kill them. It will knock them down and damage their wings. Then you stomp them.
I hope kids don’t start shooting salt into peoples eyes
There were no actual flies harmed in the production of this video. Darn!
Do you think it would kill carpenter bees ? Sorry about your wife. Kudos for sticking by her.
