@@michaelscott5468 Africans were always referred to as brown. Africans are the actual brown people you South Asians just stole the term. We Africans come in all shades brown, black light skinned etc.

@@cocoastyling I have a lavender blue colored long sleeved shirt, and I like this color, but I know it's not my color, I notice though when I put this color up against my skin, it makes my skin look more red. Does this mean something?
Excellent! Well worth the wait. Yes definitely confirmed I'm Dark Autumn. Sometimes tricky over here to get the right shades of colours, e.g. right shades of purple and yellow but now I know better I will avoid buying shades that do not suit me just because they're on trend or being sold at most stores - I'll keep looking till I find the right shades that complements us Dark Autumns. Thank you for the amazing examples as references. 🌻Will be following on the seasons' videos but really looked forward to this one.
I find that these colours are so hard to find, especially in the style I like. But South Korean brands seem to carry these colours but then, there is the sizing issue that comes with it 😒😒😒 😓.
@@pouchika5672 Hopefully you find some good places to get these colours. Yes, sometimes Korean and Chinese brands are very good but more tailored for petite. I find browsing online easier to find colours than specific high street stores - never know what you'll find with a random internet search - obviously checking the seller is legit and has a record of positive reviews first. eBay and Amazon are quite good for searching and filtering on international clothing sellers. Good luck!
@@daphnent-b1240 I've just resigned myself that I'm gonna have to make the clothes myself. The silhouettes, combined with the colours that I like. Are not accessible on the high street. Plus I have the skills to make the garments, so I might as well do it.
@@pouchika5672 That sounds excellent! Definitely use your skills and make the clothes the way you like it - as someone once said 'why settle for a tight squeeze, when you can have a perfect fit'. Well, he wasn't talking about clothes at the time but the metaphor can apply literally here. Maybe you can help us all out by making clothes for us as well - get some more exciting and inclusive designers out here. All the best 😊
@@daphnent-b1240 I actually studied womenswear design in uni and realized that I don't wanna be a fashion designer 😂. Plus I feel like my aesthetic choice is a bit niche.
I'm trying to revamp my style after being painfully insecure and your channel is the only one that really DEDICATES to women who look like me and take out the guess work of comparing my coloring to a bunch of women that lack melanin.

This was the most helpful video on this topic I've seen. It’s so enlightening to see how the application of this season varies from individual to individual even though they are all dark autumn. For example, how the brighter colors/shades looked beautiful on Ryan and deeper, muted ones looked more cohesive on Jasmine. Game changer 👍🏾

@@cocoastyling there's one thing though, color analysts need to stop saying that Dark Autumns can't wear blue or gray, it's bad enough warmer toned people don't have very many colors to work with. Dark Autumns CAN wear blue and gray they just brown or yellow toned.. Greige or aquamarine blue or Agean blue will on Dark Autumns.
@@cocoastylingMicah, wouldn't true black be too harsh on dark autumns, is better to wear soft black, or is true black okay as well, I want to get your opinion on this.

@@cocoastyling I say this because on Jasmine Tookes, you said that red lipstick is not that great on her. It isn't because it's probably an ORANGE red. She needs more of a blue red, or a brown red.
@@cocoastylingdo colors have to blend in? Especially orange, I'm neutral warm, more close to Jasmine Tookes. I feel terracotta blends in with my skin too much.

Lilac is a warm color, I looked it up.
What she means by the right shade of silver is that it has either a brown or beige undertone to it. Pewter with a beige or brown undertone to it.

Yes. Humans don't have actually have black eyes. I am learning to be a little more confident incorporating color into my wardrobe thanks to her content.
Yes! No one has completely black eyes.
But it's easier to say black instead of having to say very-very-very dark brown eyes each time. It gets confusing especially when there is a distinction between dark brown eyes and very dark brown eyes that look black unless you are really close.
And it's really fun to experiment with colors and see how they match your features:)

I can't figure out if I'm dark or soft autumn. I have dark hair and eyes and a warm undertone but I might be too muted for dark autumn. Maybe I'm inbetween?

Yellow is very forgiving on dark skin because of the brown in our skin. Brown and yellow go very well together. Blue doesn't look good on us because blue doesn't look good up against orange skin. Think sunflowers.
Hi. I am brown skin with grayish greenish undertones. I do not know what colors that will not highlight my gray and green undertones.

Can a dark warm autumn also wear colors for a soft warm autumn?
No, because soft dusty hues don't give you enough contrast. Remember, as a deep Autumn, you need to contrast.
Now, if you just WANT to wear softer colors, wear them as bottoms, and not towards your face.

She is an Autumn,
But her skin has a neutral warm undertone, wearing overly warm colors can grey her out because she is not as warm
@@cocoastyling Okay i am dark, but with a warm undertone. I look my best in yellow gold jewellery, and my i did my colour analysis on my own and it perfectly matches DARK AUTUMN and the colours in dark autumn palette fits me.
I heard that true black is too harsh on dark autumns. Brown-black, golden black, red-black, or warm black, which is a very dark cyan color.

It's not about whether you are dark or light skinned. It's about Undertone (cool, warm) and if you're muted light/dark or bright .
@@pouchika5672 perhaps ur right, I just think all colors look good on dark skin...but there maybe something to warm vs cool tones
@@ddddddno24 I can attest that I do not look good in extremely bright colours or neons, and cool tones. I can do light muted colours but it's not great. When I wear toasted (dark) warm tones, my skin looks it's best and I can feel my confidence soaring. They're just more harmonious. Tbh I think it's most important when it comes to make-up.

Besides black eyes don't necessarily have to be so piercing, not only black. There different shades of black out there. Dark brown eyes from a distance look BLACK, not brown. Brown eyes are lighter and warmer, and more or less muted.
