Will, Jessica, Avalon and Largo. You guys are an inspiration. I started watching the Camino videos because I’m dreaming with the day I can go. I’m 54 from the Canary Islands living in Utah usa. I been watching “ALL” your videos now. I love every minute, every second. I love my family so much that’s my # 1 priority and see the way you love yours make me love you guys so much without knowing you. You are special people. You make me feel that still is so much good in the world, you make me have hope and want to dream big. Please tell Will, Avalon and Largo that I love them. Tell your kids to be great-full, what an amazing opportunity they have, they will forever treasure all this wonderful experiences. I see the hand of God in your life! I love you guys, you are so wonderful and amazing. Fan # 1 here in Utah. When you decide to go to the Canary Islands let me know, I have family all over the islands and they will help you guys in any way you need. Hope to meet you guys one day. You are beautiful people. I can feel your goodness. Love ya, Nidia Corzo. Payson Utah.
Nidia thanks so much for your love and support and watching our vlogs. I love that you shared how much you care for your family. The kids are our everything as well. I will give them your kind thoughts. And yes, make plans to do the camino. It has been such a special experience for all of us. xoxo
I love the experiences that you are giving your kids. It’s great to see them happily sharing their tales with other travelers. Thank you for sharing your videos.
So glad you have enjoyed our vlogs. I have to chuckle every time they share one of our crazy stories. You can almost see the listeners doubt set it. I know they are thinking, "did this really happen to this family?" Ha.
The truth comes out when parents aren't around. lol
Awesome!! Thank you! Buen Camino!
You are welcome. Such an amazing experience. We will do part of Le Puy this summer.
Gee i admire you guys.what a fantastic experience, something to remember for the rest of your lives.i love the fact that you are going to meet a variety of people from all around the world and that you get to spend time with each other.gorgeous scenery too.Avalon and Largo are going to grow up with such amazing attitudes, experiences and such INCREDIBLE parents. How much do your bags weigh?Love your family.thanks for taking us on your journey.
Alan - thanks for the kind words. We are a week into our Camino and are loving it. With the people and ourselves, we could not ask for a better hike. The bags are not bad for the kids. Just a few kilos. I have not attempted for weigh mine (too scared to know the truth). If I were to guess, I would say it is 19. Jessica’s bag is around 12ish. Just guessing though.
Remember this camino so well and very fondly. Yes straight up 5 miles. It isn't easy! Maybe we will see you vlogging on the Via Francigena next year! Buen camino and I look forward to following you.
Thanks! What a hard day! But, look how clean we look. Ha! We will be in Le Puy for 5 days in about two weeks, but unfortunately we can only get a week in this year as we need to get to Norway, Sweden and Finland before snow. Yikes.
Oh my gosh, so much envy and excitement for you guys. And comments!
1. I know packing that drone must be a huge hassle but the footage is gorgeous! So in the opinion of someone who doesn't have to carry it, it's totally worth it.
2. I love that you are talking to other walkers. So cool to get their perspectives, to see the comraderie on the trail, and to hear a variety of voices.
3. I may have missed it but what are you guys doing with Lemonade?
4. Anders just said "I've GOT to do that" and I'm sure Melynda feels the same. I know I feel inspired to do it. Finn's more like Avalon. :-)
5. You guys are going to be so FIT in 50 days.
Can't wait to watch more. -Henry
Henry thanks so much for your thorough thoughts. As much of a pain as the drone is we are both so glad we brought it, but I don't carry it so of course I love it. Ha. You should see the shuffle we have to go through in the rain, ugh.
We try to talk to as many hikers/bikers/locals as possible. This is one of the greatest benefits of the hike. We love hearing everyones "why" for doing this. Ours seems quite boring now.
Lemonade is at the spa. Actually she needed a bumper repair and some other small updates.
Avalon has surprised us so much. She was really not interested in doing it and even though she still says she does not love it she is saying she likes it (I will take that). Avalon is super competitive so she is usually leading our pack and when she sees our trail friends gaining on us she kicks it into high gear. Ha.
I know, right? I don't think we have ever been this fit. It might be time for the thong and speedo at the beach. Ha. Would love to do a hike with all of you one day. Hi to everyone.
a tip : watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching a lot of movies lately.
Omg...amazing... thank you for sharing 👍👍👍
Thanks! So glad you liked it. This adventure is so much fun.
Brilliant adventures!
Thanks. A bit brilliant and a big crazy family. Ha.
Loving family enjoying natural beauty
Thanks! We are loving it minus the rain and the bears. Ok, just kidding about the bears part. Ha
What a nice and funny video with the kids
Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪. I hiked the camino in 2015. I plan on doing it again summer 2019. You will love it. Buen Camino.
Congrats! We see so many people doing it multiple times. It is addictive from what we hear.
Awesome video, super exciting to get a new video from you every day!
I defenatly feel inspired to try something like this some day!
Yes, do it. It is really fabulous. Will is going to try to do one a day, but some days it may have to waited depending on our hiking schedule.
Just finished in Finesterra last wk after a week of rain, take your time and enjoy Buen Camino
oh gosh, so sorry for all the rain. We had 1 day and it was miserable, but you made it. Congrats.
The Camino is a beautiful experience. I just finished it. I think you'll find that the people you meet are the best part of the walk. I suppose you are a week into it, so you've probably figured out all the hard stuff by now. It was quite rare to see kids on the way, so I hope they enjoy it. You won't have hard climbs again until the last third of the way, like near O Cebreiro and by then they will be nothing. Buen camino.
The people are such a special part of the experience. We are grateful for the people who have shared their stories with us. It is an incredible gift. As far as the trail, we are getting stronger every day and it makes it easier. This is particularly important since we did not train that much. All the best!
You are such a lovely family
Thank you 😊
What a gift these vlogs are for someone like me who has been intending to do this for many years... I'm thinking it would great to do with my daughter and partner after he submits his PhD next year :) I am sharing this wildly to anyone and everyone who may be interested. Thanks for your dedication to the vlogs and showing all the little details that bring this trip alive for us.
Thanks so much for sharing. We think this experience is amazing and should be shared with the world. We appreciate your support. Doing this with those you love, it is an incredible experience. You get great time together to talk about everything, but you also get to meet so many others who help you think about things in so many different ways. We are just getting started and already feel the impact of the Camino.
Many thanks for your memories. I walked the Camino last year and you are updating all my memories. I didn't find the walking too hard, just relentless. So far you have only stayed at one Albergue that I stayed in, but there are so many. I have so many photos of tortillas which like a hobbit I ate for each of my three daily breakfasts.😀 As you said they are true power food. Again, thank you for sharing.
WOW, Amazing videos. I am so happy that the kids are enjoying it. Now since you are already 7 or 8 days in, you know that this BIG hill wasn't the toughest part, but you are going to see some really beautiful sights throughout this trip. THANKS for refreshing my memory...
Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it. Funny, we thought day 1 and 2 were super hard, but at least we were not achy yet. Now we are a big more achy and we are feeling the miles. However, we love it. I wonder if we could just live on the trail forever. Ha.
Sooooo nice these 3-4 timelapses of the clouds over the mountains :-)
Thanks. We love time-lapse shots of clouds. Magical.
"I have to wait 30 years to be grateful for this?" 😂
She is coming around. She is having great conversations with other walkers lately. It is so cool to see her unfold into an amazing young woman.
Humor and independence. What would be more valuable to give to a kid?
hahhaahahhah, best answer ever! ,-)
Greetings from the Philippines! I'm doing the Camino in April. So I'm hoping to learn as much as I can from your epic journey. Safe travels always!
Awesome! I hope our vlogs help. You will love it. We are only a short time into the hike, but so far we love it. The people are amazing.
I read someone write (on a blog) that if you are expecting the Camino to be beautiful, you're in for a nasty surprise. From the footage I have seen so far, it is gorgeous in that area! It's making me want to go and I never walk further than the mailbox haha. (Also cool to see some Australian's on the trail. That older lady was amazing!!)
Really? Wow, we are 7 days in and it has been beautiful so far. Ellie is the Aussies name, she is super cute. We are actually doing double time tomorrow to try to catch up to them as we took a work day and got behind.
It is beautiful in the beginning and then not as much in the Meseta but gets beautiful as you climb and approach Galicia.
Love following your journey! Your kids are Epic! My 13 and 11 year old would have Moaned the whole way.
The kids come around. They always do. All the best!
I'm so envious.
Come join us! We will be here for another 40 days.
Thank you. Wonderful vlog great memories for all of you😎👍
Thank you for your support and being part of our community.
Wow! Thanks so much for taking me on a hike I could never do at this point.👍 Im hoping you will send your packs ahead for a few euros so all of you can lighten your load. I am curious to know how much of the camino is noisy with traffic and paved roads..I read one tour guide that said its not all bucolic like your first day video.
So glad you enjoyed it. More to come. We are sending 3 packs ahead tomorrow as we plan to tackle 30 km. So far it has been very tranquil and not noisy at all, might be different further ahead.
The best video seen by me
Thanks for your video! I start my first Camino Sept 5th! :)
Hey! How did your Camino go all these years later?
@@Venture825 I got cancer shortly thereafter and had to cancel. Good news is I’m doing it in October. Two years later!
@@MsSkankles oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that, I hope you’re feeling better but love to hear that you are still up for it! Good luck for when it comes! :D
Great video! I shall be following you along the way!
Thanks Graham. BTW - I love your icon.
Good job guys! I'm so tired just watching.. Rox
I am tired thinking about tomorrow already. Ha. Thanks for the compliment.
RIGHT?!?
I totally did mean it in a nice way! Yay I got a mention. :) The first thing Greg said after we started watching was “man that pack is huge!” It’s like Appalachian Trail thru-hike size. ;) Love the “kitchen sink”. Great first day video guys!!!! - Chica
Thanks Chica! It is great filing this. The pack is getting easier to manage as the days go on. Getting stronger!
Loving this adventure! Please keep vlogging.
We will. We wand to release daily, but that will be next to impossible with 8-10 hour days and then a 6 hour edit. Maybe every other day ( with a few back to backs as we get caught up on rest days). Thanks so much for the love ❤️!
Love it ,great video I love to be you, kids and all . P S great kids
Thank you. Don't get too excited, we just spent a day in the rain and tomorrow we tackle 30 km. Ha.
Very nice video magic
Well done to you all 🚶♀️
Thanks. It’s an incredible journey.
Awesome guys love it :)
Thanks Amy! This journey is amazing.
What an amazing adventure!!!--
What a blast. Great vids Will! How are you doing with a limited tech access, or is your bag just supper heavy, or have lots of storage and edit later?
It is amazingly fun! His bag is crazy heavy. He brought it all and tries to edit a bit each day. We will take one day off a week to hyper focus on work and vlogs.
Hola familia, soy el hospitalero de Puente la Reina, buen Camino.
Encantado a conocerte. Gracias por su hospitality.
Inspiration!!!! wonder if we could do this with a 7, 5, and 1 year old???? lol
It is so cool. In fact we have seen a 25 year old single mom with a thirteen month old. For us, she is super inspiring.
Yes, you absolutely could. You would want a jogger stroller for the little one and you would probably need to do shorter days with the 7 and 5, but if you have the time to go at your own pace it can be done. And super cool for your kids.
Jessica Sueiro awesome! We are leaving in a few weeks for our Europe adventure! Can’t wait! And we’ve been wondering if we would even be able to hike with them soon! Also love yalls videos!:)
Jessica Sueiro same account as Abbey Keith lol
I may be banned from watching your videos. Every time there is a drone shot I turn to Jen and tell her I want one.
Enjoying your journey, can't wait for ours.
Hey Greg. Great to hear from you, If you do take a drone, get a small one. I would recommend the DJI Mavic air or the DJI Spark. My Phantom 4 is a real pain to carry. Good luck with the purchase. All the best!
I want to get back to the Camino !!!! :-) but it'll have to wait some time ;-)
Yes, do it when you find the time. It is so wonderful. A surprise on every corner. Wait until you see what we found today.
I wait then :-)) But that also what I said every day: Every day is special, every day a surprise, every day small miracles etc..
Wonderful video. When did you do the Camino? We’re scheduled this Sept/ Oct 2018
We are currently doing the Camino. Congrats! You will just love it. September is suppose to be a great time of year to do it.
Hola Buenos dias!
Muchas gracias!!! UN abrazo y buen camino!
That’s my style of life. I have friends and relatives that are not enjoying parenthood at all. They have excuses for not bringing the kids. I already told my fiancé we are going to travel a lot with our kids !
Are they carting the kids around constantly, over scheduled and have no time as a family? I know, we were there and parenthood was definitely less enjoyable than it is now. Doing this NOW and with the kids was the best decision ever! It is so much more fun having them along for the journey. Do it! You can do! If you make it part of your normal when your kids are little they/you will always adjust fine. Good luck!
World Towning I am even planing to do with a babe. Lol. I know I am crazy. A good crazy !
Los niños están dando la lata, están cansados. Pobres😁. Con el tiempo se lo pasarán bien. 😁🙅🇪🇸
Hicieron un trabajo fabuloso y aprendieron de lo que eran capaces sus cuerpos.
👍👏
Thanks Lena. We are on day 13 now and it is amazing. It s hard to edit daily after walking 25 k though the hills of northern Spain, but we are chipping away at it. Next episode will be out in a day or two.
World Towning I gone this way 6 years ago and now dream to go back to Camino)))...Buen Camino!!!!
Thanks so much. If you have any tips we are open to the suggestions.
World Towning Keep your knees! often people have problems with the knees if do not make an elastic bandage. Sorry my English :)
We are being careful with our knees. Thanks so much.
Wow!! What an exciting adventure!! Yes 30 years later you all will still be bragging about your climb!! And rightly so!!!
Oh and where’s the hamster?
Hi Madeline. Avalon is coming around. She quietly said that she is enjoying it. That is the best satisfaction so far. This is such a cool experience
its called saint jacques de compostelle march in french
Thanks for the correct name. You know how good our French is. Ha.
👍👍👍👍😘😘😘😘 🌷🌷🌷🌷
Exactly!
The drone shots are great! I think it's much harder on your feet to walk on pavement than on earth. PS, How does it go when you females need to pee along the way?
Thanks. We just drop our pants behind a bush. There are those products that help the female pee more like a male, but I just went old school. I don't want to carry more than I have to. Honestly, we pass through towns quite often so we make sure we go then as well.
Jessica, why aren't you using your poles!
Great question. The poles were cumbersome with my camera. When I had the poles I noticed I shot less and I really wanted to shoot all the beauty.
This was great. I’ve shared it and hope everyone subscribes, it will be so worth it.
Thanks mom! We are have a ball, minus the rain and heavy packs.
