Tip for drilling through post to concrete. Drill your hole through the post with wood bit. Hold the post up to the concrete where you want to drill. Use the masonry bit and drill through the punctured piece of wood and make a mark on the concrete. Voila! Your hole is perfectly marked and can be drilled
For beginners know this, measure once cut twice. Works the same for drilling holes in the wrong spot. It's good to have a nice eye for leveling/measuring but start the good habit of always confirming your measurements with your tape/square.
Nice video and thank you! Just a heads up my boss used to freak out on me when I use the miter saw and I held onto the piece of wood that was being cut off. I always supported the larger piece even if it seemed more Awkward to hold and saw
Cmon man, do some planning before jumping in. That fix with the chuck of wood was horrible. $2 could get you a new one at Home Depot. Cut it to fit. Every one of the screws split each of the balisters at the bottom as well. And plan things in advance to hide all the fasteners! You are buying good tools, but do it right ,do it once. This railing wont last to long
I love ❤️ the railing. Wish you lived closer to do one for my Mother. The house from two years ago to now is beyond beautiful! A idea not sure it can be done but build a faux garage at the end of the driveway against your house build it out a few feet and add doors (with locks) so you can keep your kids and your future bike inside from future thief. If not in front then on the side of the house. You could make it so nice that it would become part of the house beauty.
Very nice! Impressive as always. Are you cutting off that extra at the top?? Will the pillar continue to slide on the porch since it's not anchored... hate to see beebow fall thinking its secure 😳
I'm sorry but you bought perfect supplies but the ledger board was way off, you removed thankfully. But with with the top where you attached to a lose pillar? It needed a 4x4 pole anchored in nicely. That also with proper measurement would have allowed every chair rail to fit exact.
My neighbor hired a crew to put an addition on his house. One man was using the air nailer to fasten plywood to a stud. Another man was a ways on the other side of the plywood. He missed the stud and the nail took out the other man's eye. The tragic part was that there safety glasses were due in at the end of the week. Treat these air nailers like rifles, because that is what they are. My hands got sweaty when I saw your son playing on the porch close to you not understanding he was in a dangerous area.
You killed it on first couple videos. You mentioned showing us what you did with the facade above the porch. Did you do some kind of shake? I have guys coming over this weekend to copy your columns. Thanks! If I think of it, I will send you our material list and tools needed.
Poor quality work, you did too much, too many turns, and at the end your railing was too high, dont trust that little gadget to figure out angles and degrees, learn how to do it, better luck next time.

When I saw him holding the short end of a cut that was it for me. Some people are dumb but this dude is on another level
You did a fantastic job on the railing and the shutters! In fact, the entire house!!! I love your home and what you've done with it! 👍
I've got to put up a handrail tomorrow and this was helpful to get an idea of what I'm getting into. Thanks!
Teaches you learn from his mistakes..which are plenty
No offense, but you need to take people's safety as the number one goal. Unsecured posts and poor anchoring could result in injury and a law suit.
10/10 for a DIY project you designed yourself.
This is cool. 👍 Btw, that's a cute little apprentice you have with you.😊 Thanks for sharing!

Well done dude,
So many people have the potential but cant harness the confidence, men and women
When someone says "this is the first time I'm doing this" I need to just move on.
Looks pretty decent for a first time job. In the future you should drill pilot holes for your wood screws so you don't split your lumber.
Nice video and thank you! Just a heads up my boss used to freak out on me when I use the miter saw and I held onto the piece of wood that was being cut off. I always supported the larger piece even if it seemed more Awkward to hold and saw
You made that look easier than I was expecting. Great job!

I see you are doing the side yard bike house. It looks so good! It looks like one I had in mind!
OMG you scare me with that saw. LOL Good job working it out. But please watch it with that saw, lol!
Great job! Thanks for sharing, I can not wait to make my own.
I get a kick out of your opening. 😁😁😁
omg so cool I love ur channels including Sam and nia
perfect example of how not to do it. a drill comes in handy for drilling pilot holes in wood before adding screws.
dont do wood work , anymore
anchoring into that little curb with 1 in of cement above the anchors ????? I hope nobody broke a hip yet.
Very nice! Impressive as always. Are you cutting off that extra at the top?? Will the pillar continue to slide on the porch since it's not anchored... hate to see beebow fall thinking its secure 😳
well done and a very lovable host. Lol.
Really nice my friend 👏

Well done!
Structural weakness....a hand rail is for support, I doubt this support anything....final looks good but not functional
Quick ? How come u didnt bring the railing straight into the post? What was the reason u brought it on the side?
"Honey! Fixed the newel post!"
HA HA This guy makes Clark W. Griswald look like a genius!
My railing is same size as yours but sitting on wooden step. Aluminum, need to be firmly Secured, how?
Awesome Work sam!
but this is the 2nd time i'm telling please use your gloves while using blade machine

You have a real talent at this Sam! Where did you learn how to build things?
You killed it on first couple videos. You mentioned showing us what you did with the facade above the porch. Did you do some kind of shake? I have guys coming over this weekend to copy your columns. Thanks! If I think of it, I will send you our material list and tools needed.
Nice! Where did you get the notched handrail??
Are there any codes for outside railings?
How much should a job like that cost me?
Where did you get that level that reads the angle?
Great video. But using that nail gun when your boy is in the line of fire is not safe.
Good job friend
What drill bits did you use to screw in the screws into the cement?
Exactly what I was wondering!
> No answer........
now all of you carpenters be sure to set your miter saws to 32.7
Video went blank in the end
Nice job but i don't think it meets code.
Lol. I'm playing man. 😁
Nice , when the rain hits that post trim your work will be shit
Can we get a list of materials? I am looking for that piece of wood with precut holes
2 in. x 4 in. x 6 ft. Pressure-Treated Pine Routed Rail...look on home depot site. And search this. I believe this is the piece u are talking about
😃👍💯
Awesome vid... music is horrid 🥴🫨
sam has a youtube channel?????????????
This is terrible.
Very cute. Unfortunately it demonstrates nothing but bad craftsmanship. Good luck, but please don't give any more advice on this topic.
ILY
You should get a job as a wood worker and just make wood things for people in your shop.🤗🤗🤗
Bro you cant do that with a porch..come on now...its all ready twistin what u think gonna happen in a year?
Big mistake
Second!
Thanks!
Garbage work, I don’t care what you think, you have no business doing a video
idk what to say about that
OMG! I can't watch!!
You can use WoodPrix instructions to build it yourself guys.
You area goof , but good job
The poor quality of work would drive me crazy every time I looked at it. Nice try,.........but next time hire a pro.
There are many similar projects in Woodglut's plans.
What?
So many things wrong here.
with stodoys plans doing something like that was easy.
Bro my fucking heart jump when I see how you cut the wood😢😢😢😢 omg dude never do it that again please
Poor quality work, you did too much, too many turns, and at the end your railing was too high, dont trust that little gadget to figure out angles and degrees, learn how to do it, better luck next time.
Yikes.....
now thats poor workmanship
This time I'll use WoodPrix instructions to make it by myself.
Dude, you are not a carpenter at all. STOP making videos!
I almost turned off the entire internet after watching some of these DIY railing videos. SMH!
Cheap work
Dude dont quit your day job that looks horrible 🤦♂️
