Hey great vid ..... I 100% agree with you about the carbon fiber .... anyway what is the rear spoiler you have there ... its amazing ! Would look great on my Torch red C8
@tonysC8 it's from Competition Carbon, they used this spoiler on their wide body kit. They didn't advertise it but just message them directly on Instagram for more information
Hey I bought a “FOXWELL NT530 for GM Chevrolet - All Systems, All Maintenance Service - Bidirectional Diagnostic Tool - OBD2 Scanner - Code Reader ABS Bleed SRS Airbag SAS TPMS TPS EPB Oil” this OBD2 does the transmission internal flush. So next time when I change the DCT filter it will do it for me. It’s good to know they don’t require it. Great info thanks.
You should add a Winter car garage floor mat under that SUV. You'll need to Shop-Vac up the melted snow from time to time. But I'll be better than those floor stains and mess.
Thanks for the pricing. What I find interesting about your bill is there is no way they fit 12 quarts of fluid in that transmission. There is no way to get all the fluid out. This kind of thing is why dealerships get bad reputation, they deserve it. Especially at $50 a quart!!
You were taken at the dealership. If you don't change the internal filter and just drain the fluid you will only drain about 9 quarts of fluid. There is no way the dealership put in 12 quarts. If they dropped the pan it would lose more than 9 quarts. But to do that they have to raise the trans to remove the pan bolts. The trans will retain about 3 quarts in the trans when you drain it. This was also told to me by the GM engineers at Carlisle, PA corvette show. I paid $113 for the filter and $24/quarts if fluid thru Summit Racing website.
@112949edina Thanks for sharing the information, I'm sure that will help C8 owners And I'll remember this for next time...maybe I should do it myself next time. THANKS SO MUCH
I was under the impression that even the GM procedure for draining the DCT fluid involved a new DCT filter? I would not recommend spending all that money on the new fluid and not replacing the DCT filter. Most GM techs will use the fill plug just north of the DCT filter housing, (rather than go through the back), and so you really want to get the filter out of the way anyways. You can get Pentosin FFL-4 fluid in 5L jugs and save a little money; it's the same thing coming in the AC Delco bottles. Just remember to shake it up to get the additives out of the bottom of the bottles.
Competition Chevrolet in Stony Plain Alberta changed out my DCT filter at ZERO cost. My Stingray is a 2020 and it was done there in Summer of 2024. It goes back there this Sping (2025) for it's transmission fluid change...they've quoted me $900 for the fluid change.
@SerhansGarage Yes I was very impressed..Every other place around Edmonton & Leduc wanted a fortune to change out the DCT filter...maybe it's because I purchased the car from them? I got it there USED about a year ago. .They seem like a great place to deal with.
I'm at the 3 year mark as well, I did the DCT filter, pretty easy, at 7500 and only have 9K miles.. I'm getting a price for just the fluid replacement, that's def. a steep price...
@advancedhittingtraining8233 Thank you. I chose not to change the fluid myself because it's a messy job and I wanted it documented on the vehicles service record at the dealer to show ut was done at 3 year mark incase of warranty claim or when I sell the vehicle in the future.
I am the same. I do not like carbon fiber on the outside. If you just do a piece her and there it does not look right. Then if you have everything carbon fiber it looks off. Carbon flash is the way to go.
@MR.TOYBOX YEP...I love it on the interior but I agree it looks too busy with scattered pieces on the outside..I like the clean look of a consistent paint finish.
When it comes c8 Corvettes the dealers will rip people off in many way, having you pay for fluid and DCT filter and internal filter when the book and the car dash tells when it all needs to changed.
The dealer wants 1300 plus tax I will do it myself just got the new filter and ordered the transmission fluid and no I didn't pay 600 dollars for it !! fk criminals. My c8 only has 4160 miles on it but its 3 yrs old.

Thanks for letting us know I'll check out that diagnostic tool

Thanks for pointing out the amount of fluid, I didn't know how much was needed...next time I will mention to the dealer or do it myself
OMYGOD, you got exactly my dream car collection like exactly. Trx,srt and c8. Please tell me what you do for living dude😂😂
I'm also considering a ZR1 style hood in Arctic White..where should I order it from? (ALBERTA CAR)
@@vidman999 Buying anywhere from North America seems so expensive, the one I got from overseas should arrive locally tomorrow

@@mrswashin45 I have a video that answers your question

@vidman999 nice that you got a free filter change and $900 seems more reasonable but still expensive for the amount of work in changing the fluid
@SerhansGarage Yes I was very impressed..Every other place around Edmonton & Leduc wanted a fortune to change out the DCT filter...maybe it's because I purchased the car from them? I got it there USED about a year ago. .They seem like a great place to deal with.
Who is the maker of the ZR1 hood thats non-carbonfiber?
@@vertisjohnson219 It's a manufacturer based in China. I will post a video later on this

@Steveleanr yep, and they wanted $800 to change the filter on top of the fluid chanage. It's really easy DIY
Good video, why you didn’t change the transmission fluid yourself? Can it be done DIY?
@advancedhittingtraining8233 Thank you. I chose not to change the fluid myself because it's a messy job and I wanted it documented on the vehicles service record at the dealer to show ut was done at 3 year mark incase of warranty claim or when I sell the vehicle in the future.
@@SerhansGarage They can't deny you warranty because you didn't have the dealer or someone else change the fluid for you. Just keep your receipts.
zr1 hood if it's going to be functional imo
What website did you order the hood from?
Alibaba
fun fact i am the first person to like this video!!!!!

Wait a min! Is this another reupload? 🤨
@oxeduss8010 yeah sorry had to re-edit
I am 2nd!
NOTE:
There is no such thing as LIFETIME fluid !!!!!
Change the fluid on a regular basis !!!!
@justinlanglais9825 Agree, that's why I changed the transmission fluid on the Porsche couple years ago.
The dealer wants 1300 plus tax
I will do it myself just got the new filter and ordered the transmission fluid and no I didn't pay 600 dollars for it !!
fk criminals. My c8 only has 4160 miles on it but its 3 yrs old.
Wow that is a crazy amount. I don't understand why a new car with such low mileage requires this much maintenance to the transmission.
