I like how you shared the good, bad, ugly, & you STILL landed some TANKS! Great Video. New fan from Indiana! Grew up in Saskatchewan but been in the Midwest for 25 years, definitely miss catching Pike!
Thanks!! Not casting into trees is a rarity, no matter where I'm fishing. I've tried the Fox in that area a little bit, but I'm never really sure where to start. It's a big river!
Though that big smallie at the 4:30ish mark (at 18") was a very nice fish, i doubt it's 4 or 5 lbs. More likely 3 to 3-1/2. River smallies tend to run a bit lighter than their lake cousins. Time of year can obviously matter as well. Females just before the spawn can really pack on the weight.
Just a rough guess. We've definitely pulled some 4+ lbers out of rivers before, one being in a video of ours from earlier this year. You're probably right on this one though. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for watching, and thank you for your kind words! We really appreciate it!
Great content! Glad to see I’m not the only one that casts into the trees from a kayak. I live in the Appleton area and fish the Fox River quite often
