- Mike Tyson entered professional wrestling after being beaten by Jake Paul in a boxing match in November 2024.
After losing by points to Jake Paul in Texas, Mike Tyson's future in boxing was unclear. While Paul began looking for a new opponent, Tyson was still uncertain whether he would return to the ring or retire.
However, three months after being defeated by Jake Paul, Mike Tyson was suddenly announced to be stepping into the professional wrestling ring.
Quoted from Sports Illustrated, Mike Tyson will appear in WrestleMania held by WrestleCon in Las Vegas this weekend.
The certainty of Tyson appearing in professional wrestling was announced directly at WrestleCon on Monday (3/2) night local time. That will be Mike Tyson's first appearance with WrestleCon.
The news stated that although the event was not directly handled by WWE, Tyson's closeness to the promoter could open up a number of interesting possibilities.
Tyson, who is also a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, rarely appears at conventions with professional wrestlers, so The Iron Mike's appearance will be a rare opportunity.
However, this is not the first time Mike Tyson has appeared in a wrestling event. Tyson first played professional wrestling in 1998 when he debuted with WWE at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
At that time, Tyson was involved in a feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin when he was allied with D-Generation X, before finally helping Austin win the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania XIV against Shawn Michaels.
After becoming a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Tyson continued to appear for AEW in 2020 and 2021.
