- They say "fortune favors the brave". Absolutely. During the pandemic retrenched employees turned to entrepreneurship and microbusinesses flourished. And as it turns out, the coffee biz is really one of those pandemic-proof business ideas in the Philippines.
25-year-old Anna Magalona can prove that. She started a side hustle with only 6 thousand pesos in capital selling coffee when the pandemic hit. It was her being proactive; in case, you know, she gets laid off from her job. But retrenchment didn't happen.
After selling her coffee to friends and family and delivering the coffee herself, she worked her way up and started getting her own physical stores.
Then she quit her job. Because why not?
Her pace gets more impressive by the end of 2021 as she opened a total of 15 branches. Now it's another year, the pandemic continues but so is the coffee brewing.
Check out her story for how she did it and the rest of the nitty-gritty.

So proud of her. She's my inspiration. Me too kakaopen lang ng munting coffee shop ko nung Sunday habang nangungupahan sa halagang 3K. Sana lumago ito agad this year.
Salamat
@@rhomzkietfttv5571 saan lugar kayo?
What people doesn't know is that her parents are already rich. She may had the low starting capital but her network + financial safety net helped with an unfair advantage. She had a condo, working previously as a manager too. Its a good publicity strat to share the low capital story so kudos to her tho. Its not as simple as everyone might think.
I think the takeaway is JUST DO IT.
Do it?
This is just a big click bait
Still a successful business, her parents might help but it's up to her to grow and maintain clients. So irrelevant comment.
I was thinking the same thing. You can't open 15 branches after a year of selling coffee with a small kiosk. Also, 6k pesos isn't enough to cover all those costs out including electricity, and water + the coffee supplies itself. Pretty sure 6k didn't even cover how much the rent space was even though it was under her condo space. Man, if i had support from people i would do the same thing too but i won't be telling people i started with barely $120
I also started a cafe business (milk tea and coffee) last Feb 2021 at first nag click but because of the area which is sa house lang tapos tago pa di ganon kadali ang market so i urge my family to also open a cafe (with our konting ipon) in our old sari-sari store located beside a highway yet in a rural area (risky padin. haha) but i see a potential market since maraming bikers and nag jojog. We also added sikwate (own farm-to-table produce). To cut the story short, starting wasn't easy but never gave up, as long as there is hope, trust God na wala siyang sinimulan na di tatapusin. Di man ganon ka laki ang kita since cheaper lang price namin, but more important is constant and unti-unti umaangat. Best seller namin ngayon is Sikwate with a lot of good feedback even our other drinks and coffee beans from Cordillera. Thanks God at di kami nag give up :)
God is good indeed! Your story's truly inspiring! Kapag may sipag and tyaga, malayo ang mararating 💛
@@OG.channel Thank you! Your stories were really inspiring ❤ Napa.share tuloy ako 😅😊
@@joname841 Just keep it up hehe! Salamat rin sa suporta sa aming channel! 💛
I love the taste of tablea very much...hope to visit your cafe someday...
Uy tablea. Next na chocolates pls. Haha
Lets all support business owners like her! 😊👍
Yeah!
Yeah especially since she ripped off Alfred’s Coffee.
I will not support anyone who shares false hope!
The way she talks really fits the image of being a business woman/entrepreneur. Good job!

so proud of you guys!
She started with P6,000 in 2020 and ended up with 15 branches at the end of 2021? And the stores looked like they are well-made? What a load of Bull Crap. That stellar growth is next to impossible to do. She got help from someone to boost and expand her business. This is just for exposure.
Yay! I’m so happy to hear that you’re growing your coffee business. 🍀❤️😃
Wow! Congratulations. truly an inspiring story how she turned her experience with pandemic into a victorious one!
Thank you Miss.
You are one of the best inspiration.
Congratulations and good luck on your coffee business!
She's smart and lucky at the same time congrats
Very inspiring, keep being masipag and masinop! 😉
Nakaka proud Miss A 👏👏❤️😘 more blessings to come🙏
💛💛💛
May God bless her more!
You are not including the commercial space in the factor, is the 6k include the rent fee? or only the initial equipments and items?
@@rdu239 LOL 6K MASYADONG EXAG PARANG EQUIPMENT PA LANG KULANG PA 6K
@@DickerehikariDuck And she said she started at 2020, sa panahong yon mahina na 10k para magstart ka ng food business, at nasa condo pa sya

Very inspiring ❤️
Kudos Isa for your hard work👏👏👏☺️!!!

High performance, delivered.
Very inspiring
Nakita ko na naman ung Emborg. No wonder sumikat sila kasi lakas makasarap nung gatas sa kape nila for sure. Noticed that most small coffee shops are using that milk kaso hirap mahanap sa grocery. One of my go to coffee shops sa barangay namin is using that milk. Talo pa nila ung lasa ng Harvey Fresh ng starbucks. I’m just into iced or hot coffee but if you are into frappes, well, dun na naglalabanan ung mga coffee shop kaso super tamis madalas kaya ayoko lol.
They are open for franchise guys! You may email them at franchiseinquiries@butfirstcoffee.ph or checkout their website butfirstcoffee.ph :)

I want to franchise BFC!!!😊
i’m a graphic designer. your logo branding is legit! good job and more power to your business!
To simple masas, may look ordinary and uninspired, but to art and graphic designers they really need to squeeze their brains hard in brainstorming just to end up with the said logo and product name
It’s not legit! She or whoever did it ripped off Alfred’s Coffee! Nothing original about this. Shame.
Ha parang logo ng accenture. Search niyo
You don't need to be a graphic designer to know the logo is a ripoff from her former work (Accenture).
@@rdu239 May isang RUclipsr ganyan YT name.. But First Coffee.. Dun ko yun actually unang nakita yang name
👏👏👏
San po kayo nakakabili ng supplies and equipments? Thanks
Oo na napansin na namin kuko mo...charoot!!!

How did you learn coffee brewing po? Any recommended trainings?
Locations, locations, locations. Makati is the busy business district in Manila.
Bacoor Branch❤
@OG do you have franchise packages to offer?
❤❤❤❤❤
Ma'am turoon niyo Po Ako paano Po mag business ng coffee🙏
How to avail the franchisee
You might have started with P6,000 selling coffee at home but no way started it with that store.. presyo lang yan ng lamesa kulang pa..
I was about to say the same thing. Maybe she meant when she started her business as a street coffee seller, and then convert it to a shop once she get more earning
hi good morning
i want to build this coffee shop have you franchising hope to hear i want to learn especially in good design like yours
Galing!! Sabi ko, gusto ko ng coffee shop dun sa taas where students can find peace and enjoy some sip of their coffee. Lately, at night, I see young adults flock on the streets, looking for a place where they can sit and enjoy their bond. Bumalik un enthusiasm ko dun sa plan ko nung 2016 and I'm planning to add these on my menu. 🙏🙏 Salamat sa advices and pag inspire ma'am. Thank you so much!!!
wow Aicel!
@@OG.channel thank you. We are working triple time to make this happen. Thank you for the inspiring videos as well. 🤞🙏😊
More than the coffee or menu itself I think people go to coffee shops because of the place aesthetics. Good exterior and interior
Hi. Hows the business going now na meron ng f2f? Planning to start a business din
Thanks. God bless.
0:06 Bad shot 🙄
how much po to franchise?
😍😍😍😍😍😍
hi maam how to franchise?
Hi I'm really interested about having my coffee shop and then I watched your video it was good can you help me more about the details? Please...
You may send inquiries through their email I posted on the comments section :)
Just do what they did and rip off everything from already famous coffee shops.
it's not true lol 6k
First time ko to ma try in sto tomas, na turn off ako sa bread at lasagna.
