Hello, I'm an MA user from Brazil, I would like to know if there is any way to use dmx in on artnet, while also using dmx output on artnet without any type of conflict occurring? thanks

great tutorial! does this only work with attached hardware?
I'm trying to merge an input from resolume controlling RGB channels on some fixtures

      Hey AndrwWaugh,
thanks for the kind words, we really appreciate it!
You have to always make sure to have enough parameters unlocked in your MA Session to be able to output DMX at all. (no matter if it is ArtNet, DMX over a Node, sACN or whatever Protocol you use) In the MA1/2/3 Systems the only way to unlock parameters is by having Nodes, NPUs, Replay Units or Consoles connected to your Session. ArtNet Input however will work at all times, no matter if enough Parameters are unlocked. In the Dot2 World you get your first 512 Parameters unlocked by default.
So theoretically what you try to do should work when testing with MA 3D for example, even without any hardware connected. But when it comes to actually using the setup of course you need your Parameters unlocked.
      Cheers

@@light.makeit.events And is it possible to only input ArtNet without attached Hardware? (I want to use MA as a visualizer)

Hi, thanks a lot for this great tutorial !
I'm looking to manage this situation, how would you do ?
I have resolume sending artnet for some LED bars connected to the console on universe 2.
I want a cue that will let me fade in or fade out the artnet to the bars.
When artnet faded out, I want to be able de control them and use them as normal (send dimmers, FXs ...etc)
    Thanks a lot !
    Cheers,

How would one go about doing this on MA-net? For instance, I often set up mid size festivals and guest LD's are coming with their own MA2 Light and doesn't wanna use the one I provide for... reasons? I suppose.. is there a way to make an HTP merge over MA-net?

You would just put the guest LD's console in one Session with your existing MA2 Setup. This will allow him to load his Showfile in your environment and output over you existing DMX Node Structure.

I didn't think it was possible to have 2 different shows running in one session, I will check this out! Thanks alot

No, you got me wrong. You can't simultaneously run 2 Showfiles in one Session. But if that is what you are trying to archive I do not really get what you are trying to do with that? Like what's the use case in which you would like to have 2 different Showfiles be merged on a DMX Level? Have you considered Partial Show Read or Cloning as a Solution for your Problem already?
      Cheers

The scenario is as follows: I supply a lighting rig for the gig where some artists have their own LD with his own desk as part of a touring show and they want control of the rig but not the banner lights for the stage and I want to maintain the control to reset fixtures either from my FoH desk that I run lights of for the bands without their own LD or from the in-session onPC rig at our Dimmer and Data racks. With the Art-net merge, as stated in the video, this is simple to accomplish but more often then not, the guest LD's all carry their own MA 2 Light and don't want to put their showfile on my desk for whatever reason they deem valid. Along with the approporiate paperwork I always suply gues LD's with a patch-only showfile of the rig along with 3D co-ordinates for MA3D so they can merge ahead of time.
