    The other Orange Bowl December MNF 1985 game, since everyone remembers the Chicago game (subplot to that game is that Miami was only 8-4 and had to play catchup with the Jets/Pats).
    Very, very rare thing I remember from this and the Bears game was the endzone Dolphins background. Must have been super rare given the Hurricanes playing there until November

    Just think NE would end their curse vs. Miami at the Orange Bowl nearly 4 weeks later in the AFC Championship game preventing a Chicago/Miami rematch in Super Bowl XX

  • @WREYtube

    Even more rare... in that sickening AFC Title game, they actually had PATRIOTS and their logo painted in one end zone... That was the end of that practice... Now, it's just a generic MIAMI for both teams... :)

    • @dalemcilwain
      @dalemcilwain 11 месяцев назад

      Yes, conference championship games will have the logos of both teams of the opposite end zones.

    A little Abner reference was dated even for 1985.

    Me, too... The Dolphins had the PERFECT offense to diffuse that 46 defense... And it would have been on a faster track. Even with a defense that was beginning to slide, I don't think the Bears would have scored enough. I actually rank the 84 team was only the 4th or 5th best shot Marino had at a ring (I think the Dolphins would have beaten the 'Skins in 83, Bears in '85, Giants in '90, and would have given the 49ers everything they could habdle and then some in '94). But we blew it in the AFC!

    I wonder if ABC and/or the NFL if they had the time and energy to do what WWE did w/ Chris Benoit (basically, pretend that he never existed due to the nature of his alleged crimes) regarding O.J. Simpson?

    • @ericm242910
      @ericm242910 9 лет назад +2

      +Terrence Clay That's a tough one. Yeah OJ Simpson was found not guilty of murder. But he's still a convicted felon for his armed robbery and kidnapping in Vegas. It's not going to happen though because I read that the Halls of Fame that he is in (College and Pro) will not remove him from those halls. So OJ will be in the books forever.

    Dolphins won the wrong game against New England in 85...smdh (I'm still convinced Marino and the 85 Phins beat the Bears that year in the Super Bowl).

      I don't think Miami would have beat the Bears in the Superbowl, but it really, really, sucked that we didn't get to find out.

    • @Cbear3450
      @Cbear3450 4 года назад

      I don’t believe the Dolphins would have beaten the Bears in a rematch, although my friend will go to his grave swearing Miami would have.
      McMahon wasn’t at full health and didn’t start the game for Chicago. Plus it didn’t help that Buddy Ryan and Ditka were fighting on the sidelines.
      The loss to Miami only served to fire up Chicago and likely would have crushed the Dolphins in a rematch.

      Miami-Chicago for SB 20 would have been somewhat more of a competitive game at least than what we wound up seeing.
