@@sionhughes5543 I certainly will. By the way I have made a simple bird box with a detachable roof for cleaning purposes with strips of Velcro to keep it on. I haven’t tried it out in the garden as yet, but I will test this year. Don’t see why it shouldn’t work.
It sounds like a lovely little bird box . The Robins only like nesting boxing with large openings so I can get my hand in and clean this one out when needed . Must be getting close to the right time to put your bird box out as I am sure the birds will be doing the rounds looking for future nesting sites …
Hi Brian . The nest is right behind a bushy tree which leaves little in the way of access for anything other than tiny birds . The Danish Oil has worked on my hardwood gates and is really only susceptible to UV damage which isn’t an issue given the location of the nesting box . The nest is currently taken by the very Robin featured in the video and on last inspection it was stuffed with moss . He/she seems happy enough . I would admit that the Danish oils is quite smell when first applied but it lasts for ages . Thanks for taking the time to comment. Cheers Sion
Hi Dean, Robins like really wide openings .I made my opening about twice as wide as it was high 10 X 5 . Hope that helps and please consider subscribing.
Hi Kenneth , Not really sure what to say other that you thought I went slightly over the top in my little bird box . Despite all you said I hope you enjoyed the video . Cheers sion
Very impressed to see a cabinet maker at work. Nesting box for a Robin or avarian furniture.

surely the landing step makes it easier for large bird predators to raid the nest? also not sure that danish oil is a good thing to use.

Love to hear your thoughts on this video ………
No drainage holes.
I honestly didn’t think it need it . Do you really think it does ?
@@sionhughes5543 It wouldn't hurt, better to have them than not in my view.
Next time I make one I shall put a drain hole in
@@sionhughes5543 The birds will be grateful.
No sizes for front opening
