So a buddy of mine played both bass and guitar and couldn't get into a band. He learned drums and was immediately offered positions in four different bands. Basically, there is a shortage of drum players because it is too loud for people to allow their kids to play in their home. I played drums myself, but drums take up a lot of space and are too noisy for most.
That's EXACTLY the reason I played snare drum. I went to the 6th grade in 2003 😂😂😂 I wanted to play quads but had to learn snare 1st. I enjoyed the hell out of my drum! 😂😂😂 & Of course being a lil cocky cause I was a girl killing all the boys except 2 😂😂 won't lie about that 😂😂🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

Watch the movie. A central premise is that with all things not only is respect earned it is recognized for the enduring quality that makes honor what it is. Very well performed.
I was a freshman in high school when this movie was released. Thought it was cool at the time, but soon realized how dirty it was when I joined the drumline. I'm glad this Marine cleaned it up! The beats sound much cooler when they are CLEAN. Semper Fi!
I was on the American Fork Drumline && It came down to us saving the band 1 time against Rancho Cucamonga in California, we Kicked their ass, we never DIDN'T get 1rst place
drumcorps0junkie Morris Brown College played that destruction cadence since at least 1998 when they had the drum major with the red hair. They performed it at Johnson Haywood stadium in South Carolina at the battle of the bands against South Carolina State University in the parking lot after the battle. Cadets may have hired the writer...or the cadets could have stolen the bit and expanded on it. Fun Fact: Morris Brown College was (is) a real school in Atlanta’s AUC until it lost its accreditation 15 years ago for financial aid fraud and their marching band was better than the display on film. It still exists and has only 15 students. Trying to regain accreditation in 2019. Sad to see the giant fall like that. Had the pleasure of marching against them the year the film came out 😎
@@sephirothprime8403 Update: Morris Brown College has regained its accreditation and financial aid for students and is working on rebuilding the marching band
I had a few great friends in the drumline we went to state under the direction of Mr Garza and put the 🌎 to shame💞🌹🥰🌎🤣🤣🤣(remembering the days of YOUTH)✨✨🤟 3:07
The first time I watched it I was dismayed by sloppiness of movie drum line but this version is clean and precise-difference between marching band drum lines and DCI corps drum lines is night and day
Bravo, Bellissama, Caco, Eycarumba! Yo, this is dope, lit, hype, word the the mother! From a brother from another mother! Yo, peace out, word!!! Keep it straight, hommie!!!!
I had always wondered what it would sound like if was clean. Loved the movie but was annoyed at the lack of precision. My wife never played music so she never understood what I meant.
Esto es lo más genial de participar en las bandas de guerra te deleitas compitiendo con los demás colegios lo digo por experiencia que yo participe 2 años en la banda de guerra llevando el bombo y las congas
eDL713 Just cus your band director didn’t have any faith in your shitty hs drumline and just gave you guys quarter note splits as your bass feature doesn’t mean all splits easy. I recommend looking up Rhythm X’s “Where’s my Chair” bass lick. Really gives you a new perspective on the difficulty at the highest levels.
The amount of salt you can find in the comments is hilarious Gotta love people "defending" show style by talking about corp style players marching and playing to clean and together, talking about "you don't understand the culture" as a reason to excuse poor musicianship. That's what percussion said why we bailing them out
In 2002, every kid in band class wanted to play the drums after this…I wonder how this impacted music teacher all over the globe??
I remember the first time I saw this I had wanted so bad to play in a show stopper line like a hbcu vs Corp style marching band line

There's no way that's legal
Turns out these cadences are way cooler than I thought when you hear them cleanly. haha
This whole scene goes wayyy harder now that it's clean
who ever took the time to remake this in the software and then match it together is absolutely beyond me lol. wow. I just can't even lol
Blackout Percussion the guy thy did this is the author's page that you are on.
From what I heard they didn’t do it in software just re recorded it and synced it

What blows my mind is finding out these are real schools and they have drum lines battles just like this 🤯

HBCU's at their finest!! Love this movie!! 💘 🎶 😍 💃 🎼 🎹 🎷 🎭
Thanks for this clean beat never thought this is possible
Part of me thinks you have too much time on your hands, but the better part of me knows you don't have enough time on your hands
the DJ scratch add, hilarious!
Being a former HBCU drummer and captain. A fight was going down play on my drum!!! 😂
And they laid down some PHAT licks😤
I don’t remember some of the parts going like this and I watched the movie over 1,000 times in my lifetime
YTLILBREEZY If I'm not mistaken, they were deleted scenes and some parts are from real competitions.
He put bass drum splits and they didn’t play those in the original. I’ve seen the special edition and yes the deleted sense sound amazing
omo I so much love this and I promise I will make sure one of my child can play this drums it gives me joy. Weldon guys
This was a great scene, I can watch it repeatedly. 🥁🥁🥁🥁🎶🎶🎶🎶👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Cadets 2003, you mean.
@ 2:51 I died
They are all great but I think a really cool part is between 3 and 4 minutes where the opposing team played the other teams drums.
That would have never happen in a real Drumline Challenge # Ultimate Disrespect
The disrespect is crazy
2021 and the quality of the video can't be better
Omg this is a bad ass movie I LOVED it sooo much I can see it over and over again it was so amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can’t tell you how great of a concept this video is!!!!!
Eric, you have too much time on your hands, lol
Actually true tho
As soon as I heard the first bass splits I realized it was a real drumline replicating the boogie band version in the movie lol
I like how they started it off with the song "Poison"
Nice start with the poisson lick
So....this is like when the Dub anime and it actually matches the movement of the lips, right?
This movie always makes me wish I could relive my college years at an HBCU; was accepted at Howard & chose Rutgers instead!! 😢 🎶 💃😢
Really enjoyed Morris Browns cadences.
Exactly. Morris Brown was tighter and more technical. A&T was more flashy and rhythmic.

Atlanta A&T bassline sure plays some nice hand-to-hands
Jeremy Quiros 😂😂
This is even more definitive proof of who really won...
In show drumming competitions, it's not as much what you play as it is how entertaining you can make it. So...maybe not.
This was always my favorite part! The girls at the end hit that
It’s all bout the team. I love this movie
Hell what’s the dirty version! 😂😂😂
