  • We are big fans of the Team Corally RC cars, and have been for decades.
    We have a couple of the RTR bashers in the form of the Team Corally Radix 4, the Muraco and Asuga.
    Thank you to Team Corally for supporting Popalong RC in our mission to get more people enjoying the RC hobby. IN 2024 we hope to venture into the world of 1/8 E Buggy and thought we could try and run the SPARK XB6 as a worthy replacement for the Radix4

    That thing does look beefy, but we can't just sit here and let you trash the TLR tuned Typhon. I'm loving mine, gifted the standard typhon to my brother, we can't get enough of how they drive on the yard track. Took it to a track in Las Vegas used for national 8th scale races and it handled that track and jumps like a pro. For the sale prices I paid, I can't say enough good things about the Typhon.
    The thing was undamaged even after an amateur sent it around a pro track and fumbled into learning the triple. Im still amazed.

      It should be amazing but just did not perform on the grass tracks as well as it should for the money.

      I'd say give it a chance on actual dirt. Heavier buggies like the ARRMA TLR Tuned Typhon or the Tekno EB48 tend to do better on loose surfaces.

    • @VestedUTuber
      @VestedUTuber 7 месяцев назад

      It's also a good thing to note that the TLR Tuned Typhon won a national-level event in the US recently. Nick Jordan took first in the Sportsman E-Buggy A Main at JConcepts Beast of the East Triple Crown 2024.

    CORALLY still ain't quite the beautifully made HOBOA HYPER VS2 RACING BUGGY . The VS2 is a serious racing contender and a beautiful made piece of RC racing kit to boot , and a racers dream piece of RC racing kit . Personally I rate it tops , for an 8th scale racing buggy to buy at present .

    • @PopalongRC

      Will have to look into this one

    • @VestedUTuber
      @VestedUTuber 7 месяцев назад +2

      The Hyper VS2 is a serious machine... from about a decade ago. That being said the age of the platform doesn't matter nearly as much in 1/8th scale as it does in 1/10th scale as you're not running on carpet with video game levels of traction.

  • @VestedUTuber
    @VestedUTuber 7 месяцев назад +2

    Since everyone's already recommended the HoBao Hyper VS2, I've got a different recommendation. Take a look at the Serpent SRX8-E Cobra RTR. It's pretty much a full-on race kit, minus the really expensive milled parts, right out of the box.

    Well, agree sending an RC car up the skate ramp and complain it broke is silly.
    But the corally python had weak driveshafts they would bend for a tumble on the grass The stocks diffs aren’t all that either, consistent with my python , my mates radix 6 and my Shogun.
    So far im happy with my 2022 corally kronos xtr .

    I have the raddix 6s. Big fan of corally but mine did break. My boy was driving and hit a wall. It’s fixed but I need to get it back in action. Not a lot of adjustability but still a nice package. Upgrades are not cheap but at least it’s a European company and only over the pond.
    I have a full alloy very fast servo from corally in my b6 and that’s great too.

    In a bad crash like a nose dive the aluminum flat center brace bends badly on the Spark, seen that happen to a few of them now.

    Lately ive been thinking about another 1/8 e-buggy rtr or artr. I enjoy my Corally Radix, Typhon 3s, and nitro Kyosho mp9 rtr.
    I was looking at Kyosho MP10e rtr, Hobao VS2, and Tlr Typhon.
    I’m in the US and the TLR typhon is popular but I’m just not sure if it’s for me.

    Corally Buggys are sloley made for bashing. The Hobao VSe & VSe2 are a much better choice for budget racing.

  • @bongofury3176

    I love the 1/8 Corally truggies. not really built for skatepark bashing but very much built for ripping and jumping on grass and dirt. just had a rip with new Turnigy Rapid 140c batteries in my Muraco. Jeez what a thing. Doing at least 65 across bumpy grass. arrow straight. it must be affecting gravity. do you feel lighter ?

    Y'all are buggin'. Set up a TLR Tuned Typhon right and it will run with real race kits. A guy in my club was a front runner with his and then dropped 2k on building an HB and still hasn't matched his pace in his TLR after a whole season. That Corally is like 10 lbs too heavy and has no real adjustability. Corally makes good bashers for kids at skateparks.

    Only trouble is the Muraco steering and tyres are a bit crap.

    I remember when Corally actually made and designed their own cars, not just rebrand whatever generic car from the Shenzhen catalogue. Shame such an iconic brand lost their way after getting taken over…

    • @andrewmui2633
      @andrewmui2633 6 месяцев назад

      Rebrands? None of the Corally 1/8ths are copies of a "Shenzhen" catalogue. 🙄🤨 I own 2 Corallys and have multiple 1/8th buggies none of which look anything like the Radix.
