So many wonderful memories. This video does not even come close to the acoustics in the building of a 5,000 voice choir or more. I did have the privilege of being involved in the children's institutes, Pre-excel, and then graduate to the student choir till they changed their route of these conferences. I loved all the experiences and as a result truly rooted in my love for Jesus. And remember being greatly grieved when I heard they were no longer doing it. But yes, still gives me goosebumps too!
Anyone remember doing the ATI signs on cars while traveling to these conferences and waving one another as we drove passed? I remember even at rest stops people would ask us "what's with all the ATI stuff" lol. Who would've of thought we'd be witnesses to the world with such signs.

We were members at one time. Ati was only as good as its members...namely, the parents. Quite like any church. Where everything breaks down is at that level of hypocrisy that we all have. The great problem are those who deny they are one bit a hypocrite, whereas the Word says there is none that seeketh God, no not one. So, WHAT are we seeking? Praise of men, forgiveness, penance in some form of self-denial.
Change of subject. I was there in early.90s in Knoxville. Was trying to hear old Russian hymn sung there that had been translated. Anyone know the song I speak of.

      🎚🇺🇸 You are so correct.
It is the actual history of the church, and our fallen nature since Adam.
As believers, we are still truly sinners, and our "self first" sin nature collides with God's work and desire in our lives every day. It is because of this conflict exactly, sanctification and the impact of spiritual warfare will take place in each of our hearts and lives, until we are with the One who loved us, and purchased us with His life.

Don't know what song you speak of. But how about that song in this video? Didn't it stir something up in you? We were in ATI. It beat the heck out of public school, IMO. My kids were in some of these choirs pand you're right, I must have felt some version of pride, but mostly it lifted me up and gave me a glimpse of what it would be like, truly inspiring. Regardless of my marriage ending in divorce and the family split. The first family didn't do so well either. Like the pharisee, I suppose I could stand here and Thank God that at least my son didn't murder one of his siblings like Cain did. Perhaps you could stand next to me and pray like the pharisee: God, I thank you that I am not like other people - robbers, evildoers, adulterers - or even like this hypocrite!

Scripture clearly teaches we will each stand before God, and give account for all the unrepentant sin in our lives.
From experience, many families came into ATI precisely because they were so broken, and hurting... This included parents, or a parent in some cases, and their children and teens who were also really beaten up by the world, livinf and loving the evil of the world, and just so deeply broken. *This statement is about me.*
Some families, or family members surrendered and turned to Christ, others who had embraced the world went even further away from Christ, and hated God any figures reaching out to them even more.
As well, I was so proud and even fake religious... but in these seminar moments, God poured out His grace and convicted me of my blind and devastating and hurtful pride, and transformed me into an undeserving instrument of His love and grace.
At that moment of Gods judgement, we will not at all be blaming our failures and sin or life styles, on anyone else. We won't be blaming our parents, our pastors, or anyone else.
We will give account for the unrepentant sin against God in our own hearts, and for rejecting Gods love, grace, and will in our hearts and lives.
*"5. This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.*
*6. If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness [against God], we lie and do not practice the truth.*
*7. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.*
*8. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.*
*9. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.*
*10. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and his word is not in us.*
*11. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.*
*12. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.* (1 John 1:5-12)
All of these words apply to every person, whether they love God or not. 🇺🇸🎚

    • @mysterybluff6947
      @mysterybluff6947 10 месяцев назад

@@Kwaknit_sa_Gabie Its not really a church. More of a multi-denominational organization founded by Bill Gotthard. The name I originally recall is 'The Institute of Basic Youth Conflicts.' And ATI (the home schooling program).
I personally wasn't a part of it. Only attended a couple seminars when I was much younger. But my sister, brother-in-law and their kids were heavily involved. Their crazy restrictive ideals and concepts over time, along with the brow beating efforts to bring the rest of our family into "the fold" ~ resulted in the breakdown of our once tight knit family core.
Early on, I noticed a cult formula, as I call it, beginning to form through the teachings that I was privy to. But when I voiced my concerns, it fell on deaf ears.
Fast forward, their own family unit and marriage was strained and is now essentially non-existent. Things have not ended well for them from what I've observed.
Sad when so many vulnerable people (and narcissistic personalities) are swept up into groups like this. Everyone needs to be much more discerning when attaching themselves to anything.
