A simple design executed incredibly well. If Seiko started implementing slimmer cases and female end links their watches would fit so much nicer. Beautiful timepiece nonetheless.

The official specs state the lug width is 20mm but is it 19mm???

Where do you find GS official specs stating lug widths? The lug width issue is one I actually edited out of this video because it just gets too complicated. I measured the lugs and despite seeing it listed on a few watch sites as 19mm I had pause regarding this. My calipers seemed to read more like 19.3-19.4, however, since that’s not an actual size I attributed this discrepancy to some measuring error or perhaps just extra “play” in the lug. Rather than try to explain this an make the video even longer I trusted what I was, told by the AD, what I had read on watch sites and what was the closest number on my calipers. However, you’re saying GS offers official lug width numbers? I’ve never been able to find those. Can you direct me toward that information? Unless my calipers are way off, this seems odd. I don’t acually have a leather 20mm strap to test it with, only a rigid milanese. If this is supposed to fit 20mm, it seems as though it would need to be a flexible material, unless I’m missing something.

@@AutomaticReviewsOfficial Yeah so in Japan (where I live) there are these Official GS Paper brochures. In there, the specs state 20mm. This is also what the store informed me...

@@kaiserphoenix01 a mystery worth exploring. Odd that so many sites list it as 19, and my measure was inconclusive. My AD saying 19mm is less meaningful because I find a lot of AD’s tend to guess at some stuff. I’m going to have to order a 20mm leather strap. It’s overdue that I had some in my collection, anyway, and I’d love if I could buy a good quality off the shelf strap for this watch.

@@AutomaticReviewsOfficial Yes, my source is Wako, the global flagship store for GS. The highest ranked in the world and Seikos 1st ever retail store in the world. The building itself is owned by Seiko. I trust my source and they said its 20mm....Interestingly many sites in Japan state it as 20mm...However according to exact measurements including yours, I have seen that its around 19.5mm which is why im so confused...

@@kaiserphoenix01 I’ve reached out to GS directly, we’ll see what they say about all this. It’s time to sort this out. Will keep you up to date. Thanks for bringing this up.
