The more aggressive the police officer got, the more aggressive the driver became. I think there was a better way of handling this that would have had a better result.
First of all she wasn't rude. He was. Rule number one when getting pulled over never get out of the vehicle. You remain in your vehicle. And for all the cop knew he could have been getting his gun. She acted appropriately.
From a law perspective she went hands on first he acted in self defense which one is allowed to defend themselves from an assault whether it's a member of the force or a member of the public. They could possibly win this case. She did touch him first and he pushed her hand away it was a traffic stop no point in going hands on. It was escalated because she wanted to "be in control of the situation." If he gets the right lawyer he can win if he goes pro se it would be hard.
I'm glad someone else noticed that. Like yeah he did get out of the vehicle to get the information but he only pointed at her he never touched her. She was the one who initiated the contact and then just shoved him into the car as if she was a wanna be bully or somethin.
Cop is hopeless. No professionalism no training application whatsoever. He came out of car....u move back and access the situation....he takes one step towards him u take 2 steps back and calm him down.....she tries to be the boss..... So many mistakes and unnecessary escalation. And this will be very unpopular opinion ...lol
What do you imagine she could have done with an aggressive, angry man who instantly jumped from the vehicle, refused every direction, and wanted a fight?
I agree the gentle wasn’t following verbal commands but instead of giving him time to process what he was being told she physically shoved him hard and expected him not to return it. One thing everyone fails to understand is that when a person is physically attack the natural fight/ flight instinct takes over. Many, not all Cops do this, all the time either because of fear or abuse of power . They approach people aggressively and expect them not to defend themselves because they wear a badge. Most police officers seem to lack basic people skills and treat their position as one of authority and not one of service paid for by the taxes of the people who live in their cities . When their attitudes change maybe you won’t have these kinds of incidents. Natural instinctive response is get your hands off me!!!
She should have mased Him I don't Care that is what she is trained to do They have to train her a little better I believe when a woman Officer knows she is pulling over a Man which in reality is stronger than she is she should have signaled back up from the start Thank GOD for the Good Samaritans

The man started the fight by refusing orders after he literally went 20 mph over the speed limit, the cop was just pushing him around, he actually tried to attack her
This is a great example of why UK policing model is better for everyone. The officer did not make a single effort to use her brain and induce the guy to do what she needed before going all "I am a god and you will obey!" People who train to police without guns learn far more effective DEescalation techniques. Their safety depends on the ability to get compliance without having to resort to the threat of imminent deadly force... Might have gone differently if she had been taught how to make idiots actually want to comply rather than just spending more time at the range.
Guns didn't have anything to do with this situation and people should have a basic respect for authority. Officers don't need to coddle adults who don't know how to behave in a simple situation like getting pulled over.
Agreed … it was a basic traffic stop. She was WHEY too badge heavy on this stop. She obviously needed to FLEX on this guy when all she needed to do was to get him out out of traffic (harms way), get his license & registration, cite him for speeding, and wish him well … But she wanted to bully him a bit, and obviously he didn’t kow-tow to her barked orders. Then she started getting physical … it went downhill from there …

They always need the assistance of male officers, or in this case, male civilians. And she's the one who instigated physical altercation.
@@GoneFishingAway NOBODY IS SAYING IT'S OK TO DO THAT TO ANYBODY. BUT IF THAT WAS A CHILD, THEY WOULD SAY ''YOU DON'T DO THAT TO A CHILD!'' IT'S NO DIFFERENT HERE. This, right here, is why cops shouldn’t be by themselves in a police car. Especially when it’s a female officer and a male suspect. But, even when it’s a male cop, it’s dangerous and not just for the cop. How many times has a cop struggled with an unarmed suspect and had to resort to using lethal force because he/she had no backup? Answer: Way too many times.
The guy yelled I'M NOT SITTING in her face. Okay, but she was constantly escalating the situation as soon as he stepped out of the car. She put hands on him first, she was stepping up on him, and she shoved him at the car. His plea of self defense seems pretty reasonable. A good cop should always be trying to de-escalate.
I know the guy wasn't cooperating. However, the cop assault him first twice. She push him to the car and that's when the whole thing started. Cops need to learn how to de-escalade situation when it's appropriate. You will never get a good outcome by yelling and raising your voice. If the guy was mad because he was pulled over, the minute he decided to come out of the car, she should asked him to go back in. The guy was a dusch, but again he didn't assault her first.
To be fair though. It didn’t look like the officer tried to keep the situation from escalating. But still. Who keeps their drivers license in the back seat?
The way she pushed him was wrong. I support our boys and girls in blue, but she kept pushing. When she kept telling him to back off, she was the one moving forward, not him. Was he wrong? Yes! But, she did wrong as well. Its great she had help though.
Eh, he's already being combative, she was smaller and a woman dealing with a grown man, I'm not against her being slightly more aggressive if it's already escalating. Perhaps that's wrong, but if he isn't going to listen to verbal commands, physical is the next step.
Man, much love to the Good Samaritans. But had Dat been a Black or Brown individual aggressively challenging her authority like that guy did, she would have shot him dead instantly. Failure to comply would be her reason for doing so and it would be case closed.

This is a easy win for the man. The video is clear as day that it was in self defense
It was escalated the moment he got out of the vehicle first.

How many years of Law Enforcement experience and training do you have?
What do you imagine she could have done with an aggressive, angry man who instantly jumped from the vehicle, refused every direction, and wanted a fight?
I wondered about how others in law enforcement would analyze the situation

This is a great example of why UK policing model is better for everyone. The officer did not make a single effort to use her brain and induce the guy to do what she needed before going all "I am a god and you will obey!"
People who train to police without guns learn far more effective DEescalation techniques.
