- Using a synthetic product, like this @DaVinciRoofscapes multiwidth slate product we were able to follow the dozen or so radius roofs on our Steve Tiek home.
•
Part of the process included ordering dozens of samples, doing a mock-up and guiding our homeowner through the benefits of each option. Of course costs always comes into play when we’re discussing options but we also want to make sure that the roof performs well, and looks great.
•
Based on all the neighbors slowing their pace when they walk by this house, I’d say we nailed it 🔨

I personally wouldn't pay millions and millions of dollars to be encased in plastic
Get with the times or stay behind
Plastic.
Encased? Are you also one who suggests brick is the best exterior choice?
@@justascott I do actually consider brick the best exterior choice for many reasons, even though I completely disagree with westin6455's remark about synthetic slate.
As if you’ll know the difference from far away? Nothing wrong with plastic if it’s more durable and easier to install at even maybe cheaper price
Are there any concerns of those curling up due to high summer temperatures?
@@vapeurdepisse there's also a company that makes aluminum shingles
Yes there is
Synthetic slate is like saying I have a fake Rolex.
How does this compare for fire resistance?
God damn, can we stop putting plastic everywhere, especially where there's (literal) heavy weathering?
Slate would of definitely been okay for that curve
How did they do it back b4 plastics…oh that’s right, skills and craftsmanship.
That’s right bill. Still takes skill and craftsmanship to install these.
What’s the life expectancy for that type of roof?
If your lucky 15-20 years.
If you have a lot of direct sunlight definetly less.
Stone on the other hand will last until the wood underneath it is rotten.
The type of person who can afford that house couldn't care less what the lifespan is.
@@einhalbesbrot actually the life expectancy of this slate stuff is 100 years
@@matthewfors114 how is the slate gonna wash out? If its actual slate it will withstand many more years of rain and ice than just 100.
@@einhalbesbrot Not even remotely accurate. A Davinci synthetic slate roof has a lifespan of about 40-50 years.
"synthetic slate" = rubber
"Vegan leather" = plastic
Lifetime warranty for residential and 50 year for commercial applications.
It looks like a quality alternative to real slate
very slick but what's their heat retention?
Real slate would have been fine on that roof. Shorten the length and triple lap. Likely didn’t have the structural framing to carry a real slate roof.

Probably didn't want to spend the insane cost either.
I prefer f-wave or euroshield for slate look alike.
Everything in America is plastic... Wrf
Yeah, I mean it looks good, but let's be honest here to talk about plastic. You probably would get better durability from a rubber base product, but I would have some concerns about flammability.
Bruh, the whole ass house is wood
I'd be concerned about fading .
A plastic roof sounds like a terrible idea.
