Congratulations Wal! This would have to be current champion for the best Fish Pro on the water! It's so great seeing all the innovators coming out and making real progress on the PWC Fishing scene. And Matty, this is a very good video for people looking to build their dream fishing ski! I think Wal's comments about getting a watercraft that he can handle himself yet still get far offshore for the better fish is what this sport is all about. PWC fishing units are without doubt the most versatile solo sports fishing craft on the water. Thanks for the plug for Jetcast too Matty! You know I only want the best for this sport. So I also am very happy to support other innovators making the effort to improve what I love so much. I second your comments on the great products that GC Jetski Fishing (Glen Cox), Anchorman (John Greaney) and others make. I have products from both of these on my own PWC rig. I may have to look up Jetleds for my next PWC- watch this space! I'm currently working with Patrick at Shoreline on the design of my next rig , while impatiently awaiting the arrival of Tubbies to fit my new choice of ski! cheers - Paul
That’s great news - and can’t wait to see your next rig!!! I’m guessing it’s a Yammy? Looking forward to another trip to when you’re free Paul. Also, you taught me a lot with this episode including some microphone info and interviewing techniques - so thank you again on a few levels.
@@visionhomesjetskiadventure2302 mate happy to help. I could offer plenty more assistance on the video side one day. We need to do a “colab” soon as well! ;)
Hey Paul big vid coming up detailing new ski, why, what etc….can’t wait. I’m moving to Brisbane next year. Just have to find the right suburb to live in.
Really appreciate the feedback. Will be fun testing the front mount Minn Kota - Wal calibrated it the other day and had a play around with deploying it and said it was spot on. Plenty of winter fishing coming up so can properly test out the front mount Minn Kota on bait and reef marks.
Another great showcase video Matty, thanks for doing these, what a rig! It really is impressive how far the aftermarket accessories for ski's have come in the last few years
Fishing is pretty good, mainly fish inshore these days since I downsized to a smaller boat. Usually fish for spotted sea trout, red drum, and flounder. I live in the panhandle of Florida, and it's not as tropical as down south, so we don't have some species you see people catching on TV like snook and bonefish. We do get some tarpon in the summer months. I think a jet ski rigged for fishing would be great for the flats and making an occasional run offshore for some bottom fishing and trolling.
Nice video, thankyou for sharing. Only thing is, when you have your rod holders attached to the back of the cooler when you have the cooler topper....you cannot open the cooler topper if you have rods in
I can open my cooler topper / tackle box when I put the rod holders on the side. I’ll check with WAL’s - I think the Andrew Hill anchor light plate I use clears it. But you’re right, the rod holders if on behind don’t clear. Wal will only have rods in there when travelling offshore to protect them- when using and fishing and trolling they will be on the side of the cooler.
How good would that be - 18" Garmin Radar on the Fishpro. Love it!!!! There is one ski on the Sunshine Coast running around with down riggers on it. Plenty of innovation yet to come.
@@LawnmowerManINC most of the setup is from Shoreline Seadoo (Slacks Creek) and the trolling motor mount and nav lights etc are from Jetleds (also at Slacks Creek). Both ship internationally as well.

Hi Tommy, yes there’s been good feedback on the windshield. I’m pretty sure Wal is going to get one installed as we do head out offshore where it would definitely come in handy.
Hi Dan, I’ll see if I can get some footage of Anthony doing an install. For my battery he made a bracket and put it in the rear left hand side of the ski.
Hi Tommy, I haven’t personally but there’s a couple of JetSki Fishos who use them and highly rate them. They add extra stability too and are also a great option.
Beautiful setup! 🙂 May I please ask how heavy the whole set-up will be? Just want to know if I need to get a braked trailer for it. Keen to get my own Seadoo soon 🙂Thank you.
Hi Duy, Happy Tuesday!!! It’s still under the 750kg all up - roughly 550kg for ski and trailer, 40kg for long range tank when full, 20kg for each Tubbie and another 25kg or so for third battery and Minn Kota gear - but also wouldn’t hurt to get a brakes trailer as we normally leave fish in the tubbies in fish bags with ice. I’ve had 100kg between the two tubbies in Tuna plus ice - which is now putting into that 750kg range.
Terrific ski for calm water fishing. Wouldnt catch me on a Seadoo in heavy chop though as its way out of its "depth" pardon the pun. Love the ergonomics of the Seadoo though. Great storage
@visionhomesjetskiadventure2302 be careful in heavy swell my friend. I ride in some of the world's craziest swell. Southern Hemisphere open water is awesome fun but can be dangerous. Quite a lot of the ST3 Seadoo guys try their luck and either turn back or refuse to do the same run again. It's just too dangerous with cross swell and that bow nose catching on cross waves. 1-3 foot chop is ok for a ST3 but I'd be packing bricks if it was any worse. Notice the Catalina rides are always done with Kawis & Yami's? Trust me, RUclips it mate. The ST3 is a terrific hull, you just can't design something to be the best at everything. It's the best for stability at slow & stationary speed that's for sure but where it fails is rough water. We see a few of the Fishpro boys on ST3's come in a little shaken some times because they've been thrown off due to a cross wave. Pretty scary bro
@@_jamesrose I’ll check it out on RUclips. I fish off Mooloolaba, Noosa and Moreton two out and the ST3 hull has been great - I’ve even got an extra 40 kilos in the front from the 40L tank. Because we fish an hour offshore I burn a bit of the fuel on the way out. But fishing and crabbing and joy rides to Moreton it’s been great. Some of the swells off Mooloolaba I’ve been out in are up to 2m - but quite often they’re good rolling swells. I think not so nice when the intervals are close together. So I’m a Sea-Doo Fan though my mate I fish with has a Yammy and I’ve fish off that plenty as well. I’ll check out this crossing videos you mention as always keen to learn something new.
Hi Frankie, it’s a Lithium 50a at the back RHS of the ski. Jetleds put it in with a bracket. It’s a third battery completely independent of the other 2 batteries.
My eyesight isn’t the best - for me I put one on sounder to show the depth and where the fish are. And I’ve got a touchscreen for navigation. WAL’s ski has the two sounders linked together by an NNEA cable which is brilliant - if he adds a mark it puts it into both sounders.
I dont have a ski yet, moving to FL in the future.. is there a system to have a live well on other skis than the fish pro? Looking at the fxho, making overall comparisons

In good conditions over 250km - as it’s 110 Litres all up. I’m not sure in hours but I’ve had a couple of days where we were on the water about 10 hours and trolled for at least 3 or 4 hours of that time and heading to and from marks.
Hi Matt, Its been a while since this clip. I know you have done a lot of mods to your ski. So after some reflection on your mods would you still recommend the Seadoo, the Tubbies and the trolling motor? Cheers
Hi Geoff, the tubbies absolutely. Best mod and comes in handy with fish, storage, chairs, Sabiki rod, crabs 🦀 Cool Cabana etc etc. I now have the trolling motor at the front but I don’t use it a lot.
