Fun Fact: Spielberg and the production crew went massively out of their way to ensure that the Ark looked 100% accurate to its description in the Bible.

All three adventures are self contained stories of treasure hunting for mystical artifacts.
For someone who hasn't seen many of these classic movies, I'm AMAZED how fast she picked up that Alfred Molina, Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2, is the guy who played Satipo as a much younger man. That was a lifetime ago. This movie is 43 years aold now. And yes, that's him. I knew both of these movies and saw both many times before I finally noticed it was him.
Aria, I am so thrilled that you just watched one of the greatest Adventure/Action films ever made. The look on your face when you saw that the monkey was a bad guy, lol. If looks could kill! Loved this watchalong with you. Raiders and Star Wars (Ep4) are basically cut from the same cloth; George Lucas's love of those weekly 20 minute serial/cliffhangers that would play before the main feature in the cinemas, like Flash Gordon and The Phantom and Captain Marvel.
Another great reaction from a beautiful reactor. Well done, Aria As a long time Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford fan, this is one of my favorite movies. I've lost count of how many times I've seen it. To me, it will always be just Raiders of the Lost Ark. The "Indian Jones and the" was added after the sequels were released. The call letters on the seaplane at the beginning were OB-CPO. Images of R2-D2 and C-3PO appear among the hieroglyphs on a wall in the Well of Souls. Spielberg first put the coat hanger gag in his movie 1941, but it was cut out after it received no laughs during early screenings. He vowed to include it in every movie until worked, and this was it. Indy's line "It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage." was ad-libbed by Harrison Ford. Spielberg was known for giving his actors the freedom to improvise, such as the "You're gonna need a bigger boat." line in Jaws. The scene where Indy shoots the swordsman was supposed to be a big choreographed fight, but Ford, as well as most of the rest of the cast and crew had contracted dysentery and had trouble standing for more than 15 minutes at a time. They made several attempts to shoot the scene as written, but just couldn't make it work. They decided to make the change, and an iconic scene was born. The next movie in the series, Temple of Doom, is, in my opinion, the worst of the franchise though, to be fair, I haven't seen the last one. Many people like it, though. The Last Crusade is at least as good as this one, with more humor, plus it costars Sean Connery. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull isn't as bad as many of the haters say, even though it does costar Shia LaBeouf. I agree with you, The Fugitive is a great movie. Some other Harrison Ford classics you should check out are Blade Runner (1982), Air Force One (1997), and the Jack Ryan films, Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present Danger (1994). The Mosquito Coast (1986) is a great, underrated film. Some good Harrison Ford comedies are Sabrina (1995), Hollywood Homicide (2003), and Six Days, Seven Nights (1998).
Something I get a kick out of- When a movie wins the Academy award for Best picture (this film was nominated),the statuette goes to the producer. Not the Director (Spielberg), not the lead actor (Ford), not the writer/executive producer (Lucas). The lone producer on this movie is a man named Frank Marshall. And he plays a small part in the movie (the pilot who tries to shoot Indy but gets knocked out by Marion). So the next time you watch this movie and see that silly pilot, know that if the film HAD won best picture, he and no one else would’ve gone home with the Oscar.
Great reaction video, Aria! This movie is one of my all time favorites. I saw it in the theatre when I was six years old and the scene when they opened the Ark gave me nightmares for a long time! I'm looking forward to your reactions to the other films in this series.
Famously, in the scene when Indy shoots tne sword guy in tne Cairo street Harrison Ford was reportedly suffering from severe stomach illness. He was supposed to have a big action sequence in hand to hand fight with the sword guy, but Ford was so out of sorts with dysentery that he just improvised pulling out the pistol and shooting the guy. Stunty caught on and played death by gun perfectly. Speilberg thought it was so funny that that take made it into the movie.
Hello Aria C, in his post high school youth Indiana Jones fought alongside the Rebels in one of the Mexican Revolutions. I think it angered his Dad a little bit. I'm pretty sure that this is Indiana Jones' theme song: RUclips video: Cher - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For When this movie came out, I started to investigate the Ark of the Covenant. It turns out it's real. It was stolen, the last I heard about it is inside a small church in Ethiopia. " Hey! "
Nice! I hid in the theater to watch this a second time the first time I saw this as a kid back when. It was my favorite movie for years. Harrison Ford is also really good in Blade Runner (1982), Witness (1985), and what might be called the Jack Ryan trilogy -- Patriot Games (1992), Clear and Present Danger (1994), and Air Force One (1997). Air Force One is not a Jack Ryan story per se, the character names are different -- Ford plays the President rather than a spy -- but the film covers similar terrain as the others so they group together as national security type action thrillers.
Woohoo! I love seeing you react to my favorites, Aria! 🙌❤ I hope you enjoy this franchise. And I also hope you don't take too much offense to the portrayal of your country in the next movie. Please forgive us dumb Americans for our ignorance in our portrayals of your culture. 🙏 Also, yeah, I hate spiders too. That's the part where I always have to cover my eyes, not the face melting scene.
I think Part 2, Temple of Doom, was banned in India, because of how a cult is portrayed. But people are very sensitive nowadays, this series was meant to just be fun callbacks to pulp magazines of Spielberg and Lucas's youth. So I'd only watch it if you don't take offense real easy.
Hi Aria, always nice to watch your reactions to this kind of classics! If you dive into the series, don't be disappointed if you like the second one less than the first. The third one will compensate you for this (I actually like it even better than the first). All in all, you will love this franchise in a whole, for sure. Well, maybe they should have ended after part 3, because that one was simply brilliant. I thought they went a bit over the top with the no. 4 and I haven't even seen the fifth one yet. But hey - I will. Just because it is Indiana Jones. I played the Indiana Jones game on the old Commodore 64 computer, LOL, I saw the TV show about young Indy, well, I guess such a franchise makes you feel nostalgic at some point. It is a bit like with Star Wars. That's totally right. Iconic soundtracks, action, some humor, some mystery, a story about good and evil, all a good story needs, a good feeling after the movie ends. And we don't care if the story is not THAT logic, we don't care where hundreds of guardian snakes find their food over thousands of years, and why cobras live in peace with pythons, we are just OK with it. And well, as with everything that is so successful, you more or less have to live with the thing going - a bit - off track if you go on and on beating a (not completely) dead horse. Happened to Star Wars (ooooh, and really bad as soon as Disney takes something over), Alien (not THAT bad, really, I like the later ones actually quite a lot, but 3 + 4 were kinda meh!), Terminator (got worse and worse after part 2), Resident Evil (the first one is just so iconic, that you watch all the others, just for the music, the style, the action and Milla Jovovitch - the f*ck, we don't need logic in the story, we want entertainment, and we get it, no matter how high the trash factor is) etc. etc. But with all these franchises - the first two or three movies made them legendary, and we are thankful for this, right? Have a great weekend and all the best! I always smile when I see a new video on your channel, thanks for that.
35:10 That's what happened on the ship. Inside the Ark was except for the stone tablets Aarons rod and a jar of manna. The relics did burn on the ship to keep them away.
I love your reactions. You have such an expressive face, especially your eyes, that the excitement of the movie is magnified through you. My favorite of this series is the third one, The Last Crusade. Can't wait.
The scene where Indy shot the menacing man was improvised as everyone on set was sick including Harrison Ford. It was suppose to be a big fight but HF was so sick and he couldn't handle a drawn out hand to hand battle so he mentioned to Steven S that why dont i just shoot him. 😊Great reaction as always Aria i love when you laugh at the funny in movies.😂❤❤
The final scene was an inspiration for the TV series "Wharehouse 13". Did you see the fly crawl into Beloch's mouth when he was talking to Jones on the island?
1. While filming in Tunisia most of the cast got food poisoning and Ford actually got diarrhea from it. and was very ill. The scene where he shoots the guy was supposed to be another long fight scene but Ford was feeling so bad and it was terribly hot so he basically said, "The hell with this" and just shot the guy.🤣 2. Karen Allen played Boone's squeeze in "Animal House" HINT HINT 3. If you don't like spiders, you're going to love the next one. It's very good and it's adventurous. Billy is a pain in the ass though. 4. Two awesome Harrison Ford movies worth a first time/share are: "Witness" and "Force 10 From Navarone" 5. There's no way he could swim between two vessels underway that rapidly. 6. Coolest final death scene in cinema history.😎 7. The ride at Disneyland is pretty cool. Make sure it's one of your first to get it out of the way before the line gets too long. Adventureland. (If you can still afford it)🙄 That other professor is played by Denholm Elliot. He played Coleman in, "Trading Places".
I love your reactions Aria. It really looks like you enjoy them and not just show an empty "emotion". I´ll be expecting your other reactions of the other movies. As you´ve liked the rocky series, indiana jones will be added to your "classics".
Harrison Ford had hit after hit from the late '70s till about mid 90s. I'd say the same happened to Schwarzenegger. Heck, I'd say that as well about Stallone.
Also, Aria, I wanted politely add as well: Jackie Chan has his own version of Indiana Jones that he did called “Armour of God” and “Operation Condor.” He was highly inspired by IN, and even the opening sequence of The Lost Ark is used somewhat in the “Armour of God.” Since you liked the Rush Hour films, I hope you’ll give Jackie Chan’s more spectacular works a chance. Take care, and thank you for the reaction!❤
"All your life has been spent in pursuit of archaeological relics. Inside the Ark are treasures beyond your wildest aspirations. You want to see it opened as well as I. Indiana, we are simply passing through history. This, this IS history." Fun Fact: Most of the "body blow" sounds were created by hitting a pile of leather jackets with a baseball bat. Historical Fact: No serious archaeologist believes the Ark Of The Covenant is in Tanis. In fact, it's a known fact that it is in Ethiopia. Location Location Fact: During filming in Tunisia, nearly everyone in the cast and crew got sick except director Steven Spielberg. It is thought that he avoided illness by eating only the food he'd brought with him: A lot of cans of Spaghetti-O's. What Script Fact: The famous scene in which Indy shoots a marauding and flamboyant swordsman was not in the original script. Harrison Ford was supposed to use his whip to get the sword out of his attacker's hands, but the food poisoning he and the rest of the crew had gotten made him too sick to perform the stunt. After several unsuccessful tries, "shooting the sucker" was Ford's suggestion. Steven Spielberg immediately took him up on the idea, and the scene was successfully filmed. Pranked In Post Fact: During the scene where Indiana (Harrison Ford) threatens the Nazis with a Panzerfaust, you can clearly see a fly creeping into the mouth of Paul Freeman. Contrary to popular belief, he did not swallow it. Freeman explained in an interview years later that the fly flew off, but Steven Spielberg noticed it and decided it would be funny to cut out a few frames so the fly would not be seen flying away. This made it look as though Freeman ate it, and he found the edit highly amusing. Empire Magazine chose this scene as one of the most common scenes for which people press the "Pause" button on their VCRs.
There was a western made in the 1960's or 1970's in which a well-known character actor (not a sympathetic character in this movie) was yelling back and forth with another character over some distance. He kept his mouth open during the pauses, and fly crawled in on camera. The final edit included that take. He admitted later that the fly never came out. Regretfully, I don't remember the actor's name or the title of the movie.
There's another movie that's in a very similar vein to this one, and I think you'd quite like it. It's called "The Phantom" and stars Billy Zane. It's another action movie with supernatural overtones. Good story and very entertaining.
Years ago a friend who worked at Microsoft took me as a guest to an exclusive screening of "RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK: THE ADAPTATION." Chris Strompolis was there to introduce the film and answer questions at the end. At the time it was the only way to see it. It was really a fun time. There is a documentary about it, "Raiders!: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made." This is the trailer for the doc: ruclips.net/video/ZvtCpE7j0RY/видео.html They do try to "finish" their film by trying to shoot the airplane scene and it becomes a real nightmare.
Give the spiders a break. The ones on their back was same as 1st tarantula i owned, Mexican Red Knee. He was chill, I could hold him without worry. Probably why the filmmakers picked that species
I bought a leather jacket from Wested of London. They made the Indiana Jones jackets. It cost about 200 dollars. The leather might seem like it is tough and can take a beating, but nope, the leather is lamb skin and it tears real easy. My kitten climbed up the jacket in the closest and left a track of tears on the leather.
If the government's men were so "TOP", why didn't THEY go get the Ark themselves?? Why did they even need Indy to provide basic information that could have been found in The Bible or a textbook on Judaism or Christianity?
They threw a live snake on Karen Allen to get her to scream better in the place they found the ark. John Williams scored both Star Wars & Indiana Jones franchises (& many others). Warehouse of govt secrets at the end. Not necessarily just items. (Could be Papers, Devices, Inventions, etc).
I suggest you check out the Jack Ryan films "The Hunt for Red October", "Patriot Games", and "Clear and Present Danger". All have James Earl Jones, and the last two have Harrison Ford. Harrison is also in "Blade Runner", a classic that might be one of the best movies ever made, and its sequel (though in a minor part). You mentioned "The Mummy" as you enjoy movies about legends and folklore. The Brendan Fraser trilogy is campy and light. I thought the Tom Cruise movie had more substance, and I enjoyed it much more than the Fraser movies, but I'm in the minority. The Cruise Mummy was planned to be the first of a series of movies featuring the classic horror characters under the moniker "Dark Universe", and scenes in the movie develop that a little bit, but that plan was abandoned due to poor box office returns. Another movie to check out for a different take on Egyptian lore is "Stargate" featuring James Spader and Kurt Russel. This spawned three TV series and a couple of TV movies, and it drew a huge cult following. This movie was developed by Rolland Emerich and Dean Devlin, who also brought us "Independence Day" and the movie that I call "Godzilla vs. Ferris Bueller", all in the 1990's.
I remember being young and always wondering why Star Wars, Indiana jones and Superman always sounded so similar in my mind haha. John Williams has such a signature style.
I'm going to be chuckling over, "That's not a monkey. That's a rat," all evening. Once again, Aria made my day.
She always make my day, smart and beautiful!
"Boy I hate that monkey. I hope the monkey eats that" 🎯
the angel turning into a demon at the end, has always been my favorite part
Not a demon, she is the Angel of Death.
well yeah, i guess thats a more accurate way of putting it@@warriorpitbull1170
Sallah is played by the great actor John Rhys-Davies.
He also plays Gimli in the Lord of the Rings movies, another must-see work of cinema.
Although he played a dwarf, John Rhys-Davies was often the tallest person on set.
Everyone needs a friend like Sallah.
He played Atreides Mentat in Dune 2000 too

The end scene is supposed to imply the US government has a large amount of secret stuff stored away in a huge warehouse.
The barnstorming run of amazing movies brought to us in 1975-1985 between Steven Spielberg and George Lucas was an utter privilege for little kids like me at the time.

The stunt where he goes under the truck is actually a modern recreation of a famous stunt that was done in several old black and white movies.
That was done with stagecoaches and buggies, not trucks
even more impressive is he did it with a bullet in his arm @@ramonalfaro3252
This stunt was performed by Terry Leonard. The same stunt in old movies was performed by Dave Sharp or Yakima Canutt.
The coat hanger scene was hilarious.
The Temple of Doom is my favorite.
Awesome reaction as always ❤
I think the point of the warehouse scene at the end is that the ark is now lost for another thousand years.

I'm pretty sure that this is Indiana Jones' theme song: RUclips video: Cher - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
When this movie came out, I started to investigate the Ark of the Covenant. It turns out it's real. It was stolen, the last I heard about it is inside a small church in Ethiopia. " Hey! "
Just called RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
Saw this one in theaters. I must have been about 10 or 11. I thought everything I saw in movies was real back then.
I hope you enjoy this franchise. And I also hope you don't take too much offense to the portrayal of your country in the next movie. Please forgive us dumb Americans for our ignorance in our portrayals of your culture. 🙏
Also, yeah, I hate spiders too. That's the part where I always have to cover my eyes, not the face melting scene.
There was a whole multi-season TV show from 2009 to 2014 based on that warehouse at the end. "Warehouse 13." It was okay.
This movie was a thrill-ride from start to finish. It has aged very well.
I think Part 2, Temple of Doom, was banned in India, because of how a cult is portrayed. But people are very sensitive nowadays, this series was meant to just be fun callbacks to pulp magazines of Spielberg and Lucas's youth. So I'd only watch it if you don't take offense real easy.
please remember there are only 3 Indiana Jones films, anything after the first 3 are mirages
😂😂😂
Shameless cash grab flim flam.
The first three Indy films have incredible action and stunt sequences
35:10
That's what happened on the ship.
Can't wait.
Fun one, Aria! Thanks for sharing it with us. 🙂
The actor that plays Sallah is the same actor who plays the dwarf Gimli in the Lord of the Rings movies.
Try "The Frisco Kid," a 1979 Western comedy with Harrison Ford and Gene Wilder. That movie deserves a lot more reaction videos than it gets.
You'll love the first three movies. You would also like National Treasure if you like this kind of story.
This is still my favorite adventure movie
the way you explained that Fugitive scene is exactly how i bee explainin movie scenes to ppl too lol
The real title of this movie is "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Especially in the context of when it was released it works better to think of it that way.
The final scene was an inspiration for the TV series "Wharehouse 13". Did you see the fly crawl into Beloch's mouth when he was talking to Jones on the island?
That is "Doc Ock" (Alfred Molina)! You have a great eye for faces. This is such an enjoyable reaction as usual. Take care!
There was a tv show on SyFy called Warehouse 13 based on that scene where the government stashed the Ark in a huge warehouse at the end of the movie.
1. While filming in Tunisia most of the cast got food poisoning and Ford actually got diarrhea from it. and was very ill. The scene where he shoots the guy
was supposed to be another long fight scene but Ford was feeling so bad and it was terribly hot so he basically said, "The hell with this" and just shot the guy.🤣
2. Karen Allen played Boone's squeeze in "Animal House" HINT HINT
3. If you don't like spiders, you're going to love the next one. It's very good and it's adventurous. Billy is a pain in the ass though.
4. Two awesome Harrison Ford movies worth a first time/share are: "Witness" and "Force 10 From Navarone"
5. There's no way he could swim between two vessels underway that rapidly.
6. Coolest final death scene in cinema history.😎
7. The ride at Disneyland is pretty cool. Make sure it's one of your first to get it out of the way before the line gets too long. Adventureland. (If you can still afford it)🙄
That other professor is played by Denholm Elliot. He played Coleman in, "Trading Places".
Awesome as always. It’s a pleasure to spend time with you and enjoy your reactions.
I love your reactions Aria. It really looks like you enjoy them and not just show an empty "emotion". I´ll be expecting your other reactions of the other movies. As you´ve liked the rocky series, indiana jones will be added to your "classics".
Best SM+ coat hanger to this date...

The actor to the left is the same guy that played Zev Senesca, Rogue 2 on Hoth in Star Wars Empire strikes back.
Another great film by Harrison Ford is : Presumed Innocent . It's a superb movie. Reminds me of a Al Pacino movie called - And Justice For All.
Aria thanks for the great reaction, I think it was one of your best.🎉
Her eyelids said, "Love" "You"
"All your life has been spent in pursuit of archaeological relics. Inside the Ark are treasures beyond your wildest aspirations. You want to see it opened as well as I. Indiana, we are simply passing through history. This, this IS history."
Fun Fact: Most of the "body blow" sounds were created by hitting a pile of leather jackets with a baseball bat.
Now I need to watch that scene again for the fly…:D
There was a western made in the 1960's or 1970's in which a well-known character actor (not a sympathetic character in this movie) was yelling back and forth with another character over some distance. He kept his mouth open during the pauses, and fly crawled in on camera. The final edit included that take. He admitted later that the fly never came out.
Regretfully, I don't remember the actor's name or the title of the movie.
LOL!! I thought I loved The Fugitive, but I'm pretty sure you love it more! It's a remote drop movie.
Fun fact: The area where Indian threatens to blow up the Ark, is the same location where the Jawas shot a took R2-D2
No CGI back then! Same guy wrote the Star Wars music too! John Williams
Like Indy’s hat, that white fur coat is 🔥 😊
I've never seen her look bad in anything, 100% 🔥 🔥 🔥
John Williams did the scores for Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Find someone who looks at you like Aria looks at Indiana when he's sliding under the truck.
4:17 that's Doctor Octavius from Spiderman 2
One of the few miscues in these movies: watch the driver at 30:58. Either he is used to getting smacked upside the head or he jumps his cue🤣
Indys buddies Salah was Gimli in LOTR franchise.
You'll also probably like The Goonies if you haven't already seen it.
If you like Harrison Ford, I would like to suggest Witness, and also Frantic.
Give the spiders a break. The ones on their back was same as 1st tarantula i owned, Mexican Red Knee. He was chill, I could hold him without worry. Probably why the filmmakers picked that species
Ah man, seen it so many times.. One of the best ever..
Yes that's the guy that plays Doc Octupus
By "top men" they meant a crate and a lock 🤣🤣🤣
I bought a leather jacket from Wested of London. They made the Indiana Jones jackets. It cost about 200 dollars. The leather might seem like it is tough and can take a beating, but nope, the leather is lamb skin and it tears real easy. My kitten climbed up the jacket in the closest and left a track of tears on the leather.
If the government's men were so "TOP", why didn't THEY go get the Ark themselves?? Why did they even need Indy to provide basic information that could have been found in The Bible or a textbook on Judaism or Christianity?
That was fun😂😂, thank you for sharing with us😊👍✌️🇺🇸
Love you (as in I love you), is what is written on her eyelids.
Wait till you see the Temple of Doom! It’s just as wild, adventurous, and exciting as the first one!
Well, the connection with Star Wars is obvious. The creator of the character George Lucas is composer John Williams.
I remember being young and always wondering why Star Wars, Indiana jones and Superman always sounded so similar in my mind haha. John Williams has such a signature style.
