Hey I am an American that has been living in the Philippines since I was 26 years old in 1990. DO NOT pursue this. You should never enter a business with Filipino partners. And any attempt to basically put the 60% with an attorney or some arrangement where you have tried to retain control, is considered a violation of the Anti-Dummy law. Bottom line is that you are going to be chewed up and spat out. Find a different country where you can own the business and the land.
My wife and I retired and returned to the Philippines, where we usually visit every year. During our trips, we've been looking for the perfect spot to open a resort. Last year, we finally purchased land, and we're now in the process of building it. It's been an exciting journey, full of hard work, but incredibly rewarding!
I love that part where Erin mentioned about zero waste. I am also so very concerned about our beautiful earth, it really bother me big time seeing all these plastics around us, i dont like plastics but we are surrounded with it. How i wish we can totally get rid of it. I'm trying my best to avoid using plastics in anyway i can.
I have to admit i was skeptical at first but as you grow I can see how respectful you guys to that country. The passion and the commitment is genuine. Bless your heart! All the best more power!
I hope your dreams will come to fruition. You’re doing the legwork & finding the right connections. Your kids are so fortunate to see & experience the different cultures first hand not just through books. Good luck & continue your world travels! God bless and stay safe always🙏
I'm pleased to see that my solar installation at white chocolate hills resort is still generating power nine years later and is covered by a 25-year warranty!

Yes your other 2 comments were great. But the English transcription of what you said tells them to go back to their own country of birth and invest from there because you have no Filipino blood. That is why you got the response that you did for me. Maybe the Google transcription is wrong ?
You're making a big change, thank you for loving our country, and I'm so proud of you guys Sending some good vibes and happy thoughts your way. God bless and so excited to come visit your resort once it’s up and running. Philippines 🇵🇭 love you guys and thank you for loving us 😘😘😘😘
34:57 also in Dumaguete, like literally in front of my house. They're building a new condo unit called Futra Homes (I recall it's Indonesian inspired), and we're like only 45 mins away from Zamboanguita. Our city is growing, and if anything, it's heading south, cause the roads are just better.
7:30 Was a good thought! Bucas Grande could be one of the next big things in the Philippines.. It is near Siargao already, where many tourists already heading, and the waters between all the little islets there is just magical. And maybe with some jointventure with some tour providers on Siargao, this could be a big success. They do already tours there. Another place that could be the next big thing is South Palawan, Balabac especially. If you think you have seen the most beautiful beaches in the Philippines, think again. There, they are even more beautiful and almost untouched paradise also.
The more tourists the better! One can only hope it won't turn into another ransacked place like Boracay was back in the day or tourist infested that'll it'll kill off the charm.
So excited for your future plans in the Philippines. Your videos inspire and make me wanna go home to Dumaguete myself and make use of our unused family properties and start my own businesses catered to tourism and supporting tourists who want to experience the Philippines. Been in the rat race in the US for 34 yrs and I feel it's time. 😁👌
Glad that you have so much interest of having a resort on the Philippines. Too bad that I was not in Dumaguete as I could invite you to my place just after Zamboanguita called Antulang. Just to make sure when purchasing a property that you have a clear road right of way or buy a road right of way straight to your property.
I've just visited Lakawon Beach Resort in Negros Occidental, 1 1/2 hours north of Bacolod. You can check it out. Also, the town of Concepcion, Iloilo has nearby Balabadian Island and Carles.
Just seen Bonbon beach on Romblon…nice…there’s also Carabao Island on Romblon. You have this 30 year travel guy working for the world’s largest airline daydreaming of working for you at your resort with the distillery…did I mention I also have a culinary degree! 😅 so psyched for you guys!!
Hi guys, interesting plans you have. Luckily this resort has a dive shop, because by far the most tourists and your future guests will come for diving, especially from Europe. That’s why almost all the resorts along the beach in Dauin until Zamboanguita have a Dive shop. The area in southern Negros is well known for diving. I am a European and I have been living here for some years and I am also a scuba diver and know the area and the most resorts. If you don’t make the same mistakes like many other resorts, you will have a good running resort for decades to come ! I wish you all the best, I will keep watching your videos and come to visit you when you will have your opening ! Take care and good luck ❤
Thank you very much for loving my mother land ❤, our friendly and helpful country men and customs and traditions. I vote for near Apo island and Palawan. You like water front and it speaks about the 7k plus Philippine islands 😁. Prayers for your success!
Omg! You guys should definitely get that “Club Tara Resort” owned by a Korean. We just stayed there back in May, location was stunning!!! But the resort was very old and need a lot of improvements. With a boutique resort, you probably want only 8-12 rooms. Priced somewhat mid-high (₱3-7k/night), have good restaurant, pool, spa, small gym, and tour desk. Can be managed by a relatively smaller team that can "hand hold" the guests during their stay and make it feel more personal of an experience. Good luck! And don't make the mistake so many here make and that is focusing too much on foreign guests (unless you do diving and/or located in heavily touristic area).
Now I have an idea you love drinking rum maybe right next to that resort building is a rum factory, and once in a while, you guys can offer rum tasting all the guest at the resorts, that is some kind of idea, and another idea one of you can choose to become a dual citizen the blogger name becoming Filipino. He became dual citizen with that you won’t have a problem, owning a business in the Philippines 🇵🇭 my last idea is you guys are willing to give some kind of discount to the guest if they flew from Manila direct to your hotel or resort thanks for sharing

you should visit Cebu city for the grand mardigras Sinulog this January 19, its a big chaotic cultural show, but book in advance and watch your kids.

San Visente, with its very long Boracay=like white beach would be a great choice..it is also way-off the typhoon belt.

Better to have locals involved as Most successful places are Not run by expats but by locals for locals or keep it simple. (look at coo-coo's nest) which has started small and expanded as they are British couple and lease the land long-term. They market as a romantic spot to locals. I am in Valencia which is a burb of Dumaguete so i am very familiar with those you looked at locally.
nice man life is good
Should have also visited Samal Island in Davao..bridge will be completed in 2028 connecting Davao City to the island.
