I love holiness teachings, for without it no man shall see the Lord. One thing I also want us to know is that God does not reason the way we do. And the devil has overtaken so many good things that should be for the glory God, such as clothes, food, marriage, gender, musical instruments, including dancing. I was once carried away by doctrinal teachings, and it rubbed me of so many blessings, that I later realized. I know how to dance, infact it seem to me as a gift, and I was almost going to be dancing to worldly music before I got saved. Now I dance for the Lord, I needed a miracle and danced to God, praising Him so deeply, I fell and rolled on the floor for Him, and my miracle came. As for me whatever I do, I will do it to the glory of my king and my redeemer, and I will do it in truth and in spirit.
Great, see the way put it" to the glory of God". Very important and that is the point here. He has not said dance is a sin! But back to you. You said to the glory of God. I think we most time miss it there my sister.

Kumuyi is cautious about indecency. Give it to his convictions. However dance on its own is not a sin. It is an expression of joy. God nods his head with a big smile when we dance pass his throne.

A lot of depeer life members broke their tv in the 80s when kumuyi told them that tv was a satanic box, some of the members working at tv stations quit their jobs, and never recovered from it, but today kumuyi has found a good use for the same devil's box

God bless Daddy for this, nonetheless as much as we have explanations for why we choose to do what we do or why we choose not to. I will say there is no method or pattern we choose to access God that Satan cannot hijack. The only thing He can't hijack is the uprightness of our heart and our right motive behind everything we do.
Whatever way we choose, our right motive matters. If we keep approaching everything from a negative perspective, we will definitely restrict the move of God.
While some persons might be doing it the wrong way, there are still some people doing it the right way and that's enough testimony.

To each according to the measure of his faith. Everything must be done in order, with reverence, fear of God and in moderation. "Praise is comely unto the Lord" Praise can be expressed with Godly dancing, rejoicing and in righteousness!
After reading through the comments I decided to watch the video. Errrr seems like people who are commenting did not watch the video because really, there is no lie in all he said.
He didn't say you should not dance. He spoke about the lust, pride and flesh in dancing. The part where he talked about people going to church only to dance and when it's time for the Word, they won't want the message to last longer than 20 mins. If it does, they'll sleep off but immediately it's time to dance, they jump up again! Very great word! The scripture says, the entrance of the word giveth light. Satan makes you believe dance = worship. But that's not the real equation; our life = worship. We dance as an expression of our worship. When your heart posture is right you definitely will not be dancing "worldly dancing". And worldly dancing from this message is a dance of lust, pride and flesh.
God will help us to always check the posture heart in worship of Him not just while dancing. Amen.

That people abuse the purpose of a thing doesn't make it wrong. That the reasons for TV, social media, internet have been or can be abused don't make them wrong. Biblically, anything Jesus talked about, not in the negative, is not wrong. According to John 17:2-3, eternal life is about learning Jesus, His perspectives and beliefs. The bible told us that people should be taught as children so that when they grow up they won't depart from it. How could Jesus have talked about children dancing and condemn adult doing it? Are we supposed to teach our children what we expect them to throw away when they grow up? Isn't what we want them to practise when they grow up that we teach them while they are young? Whatever Jesus didn't disapprove is therefore correct whether as children or as adults. We can't know better than Him or be holier than Him. Also we can't base our example on what unbelievers like Herod and the Herodian's daughter did. Not a perfect example to site, an unbeliever can always abuse even the best of doctrine. My take is therefore whether we dance or not, God is not against it but we must not abuse it or do anything sinful while dancing.

The man of God has honestly taught us from the Scriptures. Just pray for the grace to understand and obey. The message is meant for every Bible based christian or church.
It is well. We all know partly, but when that which is perfect comes, we shall all be perfected in knowledge.
I took my time to listen to the message for the 25minutes it ran. I am also an open minded fellow, eager to learn from even my enemy because Jesus said we should be wise as serpent, meaning we can learn the good tactics of the enemy. I don't believe in sentiments. We bring so much prejudices and biases into christianity. We tend to go with whatever our leaders say without wanting to reexamine, forgetting that our leaders are human and fallible. Can anyone, putting sentiment aside, claim whatever Jesus said isn't correct or that we are permitted to teach our children what we don't want them to practise when they grow up? To my mind, this issue is too straightforward. Jesus said in Mat 11:16 -17 about children dancing. Or are we saying Jesus can make wrong illustration? Whatever I don't want my children to do when they grow up, I teach them now. Whatever I permit in them now is permitted when they grow up. Also, I believe the herodian daughter danced to a music. Can we then throw away music because someone abused it? Dancing isn't wrong but we must not sin while doing it.

'For as many as are led by the Spirit, they are the sons of God' Rom: 8:14. Let the Holy Spirit lead you. He will tell you whether you should dance or not and also guide you on how to 'dance' the dance . Unlock the meanings to the fact of being led by the Holy Spirit and your maturity in Christianity begins. Issues like dance or no dance are secondary.

Real Enlightenment
Compassion for souls is a critical trait Christians must possess as a true disciple of the kingdom of Christ. If we as Christians can not sit and discuss issues, pray on them and get directions from the holy spirit, the devil will always win and our struggles for soul winning will be fruitless.
Even if I can understand it to be difficult wearing Kumuyi's shoes or any other great servant of God, I will ask this...
Are we denying worldly practices in the house of God in our contemporary times?
Can we confidently say with all conviction that dancing in churches to a very large degree has shift from genuine praise to worldly pleasure?
At what point can we draw the line between correction and judgement? Some people confuse correction for being judgemental. If Christ died so that we might be saved and not face eternal damnation, why then is putting a check on our lifestyle and protecting our salvation not a good thing??

He never said dancing on its own is a sin but when done lustfully to satisfy ur flesh or to please men or for men to praise u, then it is not accepted. My thoughts - When you dance unto the Lord or you do not dance unto the Lord it is accepted (Romans 14: 6-7). We as brethren should be careful before speaking against men of God, less satan take advantage.

I thank the Lord Jesus for this detail teaching.
But for those who want to Judge against dancing because it's not written in early Church should first tell where it is written, taught or done by the early Church or Apostles in the new testament that we Christians should clap our hands or play on any instrument when we sing and praise God. Why do they do it except for the same Psalm which teaches to dance.
Do we pick and choose and judge against same rules or praise and worship that we practice in part?

That is why he did not condemn it, he only explained based on scripture as taught of the spirit. The way he can do it is by clapping. If the holy ghost has told you to do it in any other way, then go ahead.
But God is the God of old and the God of the new no discrepancy, your hands clapping unto God is dancing emotionally, David dance unto God with his whole heart. The lady that danced before herod was an immoral one not children of God.
@@ngozichukwudi8737 what defines the old and new here is the scripture, if you will agree with me not our instinct or thoughts, although the holy spirit leads us to do things that may not be directly written in scriptures with His gift upon us. But, those leadings must not contracdict scriptures, because God's word cannot be broken. if the new contradicts scriptures it is not likely to be God's word no matter what we think of it. That is why i said if the spirit leads you do it in a particular way go ahead but that way must condradict scriptures, Old or new; and if you have any reason to doubt your action, why not wait till God's word and the spirit convinces you.
Remember there are many administrations in the house hold of faith but of the same spirit so long as there are holiness , righteousness ,and truth as daddy Kumuyi said . God remains the same and can do this or that because He reigns supreme in the whole world and can determine how He wants His children approach Him in worship because the heart of every man is in God' s hand.

Even from the pastors Bible references the Bible doesn’t condemn all dances.
The issue is not dancing. The question is who is dancing and why is he or she dancing? When and where should there be dancing? The Scripture says that we do all things to the glory of God, including dancing (1Corinthians 10:31). This should be a guide to the life and conduct a Christian. A Christian should not dance with lust. He should not go to night clubs the pastor mentioned. Yet in our private homes and occasions it is not sinful for Christians to dance.
Some years past believers who had gift and talents of music and singing could not be allowed to go into music industry to produce songs and record their music. It was sin. Even those who had gift of acting and sense of humor were disciplined. And couldn’t be allowed to use their gifts either for gain or ministry. But today the narrative has changed. We see plays dramas of Deeper Life even with the pastor in them. And many other life issues like that. The TV; the internet and social media, property and automobile, dressings and attires. Let us remain where the Bible stops. And like Paul, by the leading of the Spirit, told the Corinthian Church let us glorify God in all we do as Christians and believers.
Today is dancing. Who knows, there may be a higher light (illumination) to the Church on dancing, even in the Church. Dancing is not bad, neither did Bible condemn dancing.
The children of God should rejoice and dance to the glory of God for what He has done like the Merriam and the people danced for the deliverance. David danced and God approved it. The wife that mocked David was even punished with barrenness (2Samuel 6:20-23).
During Worship, there should be a session of praise. As a church that preach and teach righteous and holy, there should be no lust. Where there is yet unsaved soul we that God would convict such on. Therefore, is not the dance but the state of the heart.
During social activities of believers outside worship service is not wrong to dance. David danced to celebrate God. But at the dedication of the temple, Bible didn’t record whether they danced or not. Again it’s good to note that God gave us what we need to know. After all, Bible is not a chronological account of God’s acts and dealings with man.
But yet, the same principle, do all things to the glory of God. A sinner whether in the Church auditorium or out side is a sinner. All he or she does is not right because his/her heart is not right with God.
Even the Churches that dance is not altogether bad.
I think the issue with most of these messages is that they are preached among those that do not do this. Deeper life is not a dancing Church, praise God. So, talking about all these in your Church is like gossiping.
The effect is that members of Deeper Life would always despising members of other churches, especially those they know that than.
The essence of preaching is to change lives. This message would be relevant if preached to those that dance lustfully. Yes, there are such Churches. Eventually most of them would not have access to this message.

This is just so funny, I never knew all this I have been asked several times why we don't dance in Deeper Life finally I have the answer.
Even though it's just another super twist of the bible just like when they said watching TV is demonic.
If you don't want to do a thing you are free to ignore it but don't condemn them that do it. He said we don't dance because it's not in new testament is collecting of tithe in new testament? My advice for people is follow the God in you if you depend on men to come and tell you what God is saying, they will confuse your life. Dance is an out pouring of joy, if it was not a powerful spiritual tools, native doctors wouldn't engage in it when ever they want to connect to the spiritual. This is why the church of today is powerless because satan has succeeded in confusing the church to step down from the horse and walk on foot.

Teaching people how to dance or how not to dance, and judging an acceptable dance on behalf of God is just a No No. it is God our father (not earthly father) that accepts it, not man.
What the Bible teaches under the light of Christ is rejoice evermore and acceptable worship for a believer is our bodies as a living sacrifice for God according to Romans 12:1.
Teach Christ and him Crucified, let the Holy Spirit teach those that have him how to live their lives to please him in the way of Christ, through christ words.

Deeper life members are children. They must be taught even how to brush their teeth, wear their shoes, knot their ties, smile, laugh, cry, sleep, talk, in a godly way. And once some people use a neutral facility or platform or feature negatively, that facility or feature must be condemned instead of its abuse.

Bokoharam, and fulani is not the problem of Nigeria. The problem is that we keep neglecting God, and God has so much blessed our land with annointed men of God, elected to share his message and to express his thoughts, but we still neglect servants of God. That is what you are doing now. Many of us are disregarding God's servants and we want Nigeria to be better. It's only God's grace that is keeping this country.
