Fagan is one of the most beautiful human beings on this planet right now! Gosh, what i would give to slap that bald head while he is grabbing the throttle and twisting it as hard as he can...
the footage of you throwing it down those roads in the first half of the video is just phenomenal. I just cannot wait for summer. As always chaps, thank you for the content!
Thank you for the comparison between the hypermotard and the SMCR! I’ve been thinking about buying one or the other. Still haven’t test ridden the SMCR but the reviews all make it sound amazing!
Did you buy a supermoto bike ? What did you think of the SMCR ? I love it still., even though the reliability is shit on KTM I still love it. I wish the Japanese would build bikes like the 690/701. Imagine a Yamaha WR650 with 10 000 km service intervals Would be awesome with some Japanese, big cylinder, high service interval supermotos and enduros
You could have just played the footage with you going “oh yea, wee, and who hoo”. After the video everyone would agree they we well informed about the bike 😂. GREAT VIDEO!
I have ridden my KTM 690 Enduro R now since I bought it brand new 2020, this winter I will do the Supermoto conversion to the 17" wheels instead of the 21" and 18" that is on it now. I am just a bit worried that the enduro suspension will be too soft for the street, even if I adjust it to the hardest/stiffest setting. Many hardcore riders would argue that this is not a real supermoto, a real supermoto is a motorcross/enduro bike with slicks on it. This is bike is more of a sacrifice/compromise. For what it is and for what I need I think it is even a better supermoto than a smaller motocross bike with slicks. This bike is a much better commuter and is better for some light traveling to get to the more fun roads. This bike will handle motorways and longer rides. The Hypermotard is much more a naked sportbike with supermoto looks compared to the 690/701. The Hypermotard is almost 50 kg heavier than the 690/701 so it will not be as good for stunts and tricks. 690/701 with some more tooths on the big back sprocket , a lighter full exhaust system and a map on the bike is all you ever need for an all in one commuter bike that you can do some stunting and tricks on. It is one of the best legal hooligan bikes for the road, hands down.
@Joe Montanino how is it an actual supermoto? What actual supermoto has abs and traction control? The 690 is just as much an imitation as the hypermotard.
Does anyone else listen to different music depending on what bike they ride? Out of nowhere, when I got my 701 supermoto I started listening to grime. 44 years old listening to “P-Money” by Wiley. Mint 😂💪
Plenty in the tank Sir,plenty in the tank... Quick shift and auto blip will be from the Aldi dept too if it's anything like the Vitpilen.Fabulous bike all the same.
You need to ride a 500exc supermoto. 10-15 hp less but a lot lighter. Most fun you can have in the mountains. Different riding style on a motard aswell.
Statham, you are my favourite end of a bell. The combination of bathrobe/slippers burnout and the stathamesque stare fucking killed me lmao. The best YT channel!
Great machine. I would go for the Duke but still. Amazed that google maps of England shows the same street no matter where I drop the pin in any city. Bloody row houses. No wonder you love getting out on the KTM.
@Bernd DasBrot Exactly, it has no characteristics of a supermoto. These supermotos are fully capable of off roading with some knobbies unlike the hypermotard.
I saw the dressing gown on Lamb Chop Rides, so my eyes were prepared for the brutal shock. I asked LCR to review the Husky FS450 compared to this bike, and someone commented that it would SPANK this bike. Sounds like the Husky is yet another cut above this one, which really makes the Hypermotard sound lame. But only some testing will show for sure. Keep up the great work!
The engine and gearbox have been around for over a decade and still getting false neutrals. Thats inexcusable. And why does a single have to be so smooth? The Husqvarna 701 I tried was too smooth for me. I like a little bit of lumpyness from a single.
@@Snotroggel453 try KTM and you'll understand. i used to ride japanese and then i tried KTM and wouldnt want to go back. they are bikes made by bikers for bikers.
I own a motorcycle, and dont have to money for a 2nd bike. But if I were to look for a new bike... it will be that bike. It looks so much fun and has more than enough power to do crazy shizzle. Fagan, nice video! A propper review.
The bathrobe burnout is absolutely fantastic, whoever taught of that, #Genius love this bike, ain’t paying 10k for a Casio digital display tho, I don’t care if it’s the most fun bike ever, that crap don’t stand up for the money, petty? Yes, and I don’t care.
How do these compare to a 690 duke around corners? I love my duke, it handles fantastic on twisty roads and could only imagine these being leaps and bounds better. But the long travel suspension seems like you would have to ride it very differently?
@Dan Gleeballs You can't compare the MT's to the KTM/Ducati bikes. The Yamaha's have sweet engines yes, but the suspension is beyond horrible on them. Most novice riders won't notice a difference sure but fully adjustable high end suspension 100% transforms a bike. Then there's the breaks, the fit and finish, the character etc. The MT bikes don't have a lot of character really, engines feel like electric they're so smooth and predictable, the suspension is horrible, they feel like cheap bikes with great engines.
@Dan Gleeballs Go ride an MT07/MT09, the stock suspension is literally brutal. It feels like they filled the forks and rear shock with playdoh. Riding an MT-09 makes me nervous, they dart all over the place during cornering. Maybe I was a bit optimistic on the fit/finish part with the KTM's yes, but the Ducati's I'm not changing my stance.
@@WilliamStewart1 William Stewart , all very true, i did Ohlins front and rear, proper track tires, wider bars and a good tune to my MT-07 and now I embarrass so many bikes on track, some of which have well over twice the horsepower and cost compared to my MT-07. There is a special kind of joy that comes with passing some guy on an RSV4, R1M ect, and then gapping them enough so they can't get me back down the long straight at my home track, i call my bike the ego bruiser. The stock suspension is so horrible its dangerous and almost criminal for Yamaha to have produced a bike with such terrible suspension, thankfully there is a fix. The much better Ohlins kit completely transformed the bike and I absolutely love it, bonus that i can ride it for hours and hours without getting sore or tired, even wrenching on the thing is a breeze compared to modern sportbikes, something that is usually overlooked when choosing a bike. A new 690 or 701 might still be in my future as that was the other option when i choose the MT-07. Went with the MT because at the time of purchase I had a long commute and its a much better bike for regular extended highway use.
In my head, this fixes everything that is wrong with the Duke. Mostly suspension. It is not kneedown you are after, but assdown. Grind the peg, backing it in:)
Ktm just need to add a moat building service and crocodile rental to their powerparts catalogue, then you could maybe own one without it being stolen??
Would be great to see you guys do an episode with a Norasport Supermoto Round. Maybe some willing lads would let you borrow a bike for the Give it a Go class for a weekend. Supermoto isn't dead!
Great work as usual. Watched the video, and I'm still not sure if the bike likes to wheelie. : ) I'm shopping a bike and the 790 Duke is still my preferred street machine, but this looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

Again, the bike looks like it would be a real hoot to thrash around on. But I'm not a fan of the look. And it's way overpriced for what you get. paying that much for something that is a just a toy is not something I am willing to do. But if I were, I'd go with the Ducati. Volvo850t5r hahah, the hyper is not a dirtbike at all. It has in fact more torque and hp than any of the two. And the SP is equipped with a full Øhlins set. The hyper is a much more premium bike .
burnout in a bathrobe hahaha the most beautiful thing i saw on youtube in years
