Since I spent quite some time on lateral steps I’ll chime in: For the lateral steps I suggest making more steps each side since the form tends to break down after 3rd rep as the momentum is building. So it’s much easier to do 2-3 steps each way vs 6+. Also I suggest alternating smaller steps (similar to the ones you’re doing) and power hops where you land outside of your comfort zone under the centre of mass. Btw are you trying to land on your toes more or heels?
Thanks for the insight as always! I’ll definitely take those into consideration. As per landing on the heel, ideally yes, but it wasn’t my focus in this particular set I can’t say I was doing a great job of it.
Good question. In this situation I was only practicing them to see my ability to land on my outside edge, so it was a very specific use case. In reality it’s not something that I practice, nor should it be. I could see how it could be helpfully for wide crosses. But then again just go out and practice them instead 😀
pause it at 1.26, notice on the smoother one u have a beautiful crevice and floating elbow, on ur choppy side ur hands and elbows are all over the place. The floating elbow helps you bow much better.
Thanks for watching! Let me know if you liked this new format and want to see more.
very interesting, shows how such small details can make a huge difference in your skating
For sure, the details make a huge difference. That’s why video feedback is so important.
This is incredibly helpful! Thanks
I’m glad I could help!
Good format! Watch your Crevice on your forehand crosses 😉. I want to try those out now lol
Beat me on the first comment by 30 secs ;)
Thanks Mason, Nothing get past you. That was the first cue Frank gave me for next time!
Shoot didnt even see Mason's comment yes the difference in ur crevices are like night and day, probably will fix everything.

Those lateral drills are painful, no fun to work on those, thanks for focusing on those.
For sure! Glad I could help.
Why practice lateral crossovers? Is it for wide crossovers?

@@TheDownhillSkater thanks!😁
on ur crossunder drill ur hand and elbows are in a better position on your blade side foot.

Ya nice catch! That was one of the cues I was given to correct for next time.
WHEN DO STICK HANDLING DRILL....DO NOT LOOK AT THE PUCK ...KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND LOOK AT THE ENTIRE ICE...JUST A TIP!
I know it’s a habit I’m trying to break. Thanks for the feedback!
