Here is a quick little video on how to replace a dead 2032 battery in the VW Altas. Hope this was helpful! This will also work for any other VW key fob that look like this. The passat for example.

Good vid, straight to the point! Similar for a 2019 Jetta key. Jut pry out the panel through the gap left by the switchblade key. CR 2025 battery though, probably thinner.

If you are having trouble popping it up, a small allen wrench stuck in small side first will give you more leverage.

FYI they sell the battery at the Meijer gas stations too! I was stranded 🤦🏼♀️ my car had alerted to changed the battery but I pushed the limits and wound up not being able to get in my 2019 VW Jetta Sel. Thankfully the Meijer gas station sold the batteries and they have the exact same number on them as the battery in my key fob, bonus the battery was only $3.99!! 😊

Is there any programming required with the key? I know a lot of these have security built in so that if the battery is replaced you need to re-program it with the car..
