@@DontrelleRoosevelt than why are you on a megaman 11 video, plus have you tried making a game that compares to what megaman 11 can do before? Most likely not.
@@DontrelleRoosevelt Some levels were short yes, but as a whole the game felt as long as the classics, especially on harder difficulty. Animated poorly compared to what? Two frame NES animations? I think they did a good job translating the movements of classic Megaman to 3D this time around compared to other attempts. Those classic power poses we're all familiar with were used as references for keyframes with the animation in this game. And if you're echoing the opinions of a youtuber I recently saw criticizing the animations, that same video praised Smash Bros version of Megaman which in my opinion didn't get Megaman right at all in either the model, the animations, or the movesets. Voice actor seemed to be very similar to the classic cartoons, I think it was pretty good. Yeah it sounds like an English dub of a Japanese cartoon or something, but it quite literally IS an English dub of a Japanese production. Meant to appeal to younger crowds as well so the cartoony voice acting just works. Gear gimmick didn't appeal to me before I bought the game either but I enjoyed it after the fact. It's honestly more balanced than the freeze time weapons you can get in classic Megaman in my opinion, and power gear reminded me of a limited use version of X being able to charge any weapon he unlocks, but different in that you have to time right to get the most out of it (Similar to classic Megaman gadgets). The levels give you challenging parts that almost necessitate the use of the double gear system at times, I'd say that's brilliant level design around a new concept. The game felt like a modern version of a classic Megaman, which fans have been waiting for for a while. You're entitled to your own opinion, and I respect it, but I truly don't understand where your criticism comes from, or why you bothered coming to an 8 bit arrangement to hate on it.
I truly hope you end up doing an 8-bit rendition for most/all of MM11's soundtrack. Your arrangements are hands down the best 8-bit versions I've heard. I love em' all.
RetroRyno I understand the instrumental mixes but how could they miss out on such an obvious choice? The series started out in 8-bit, and we even revisited that style in 9 and 10!
I like this remix because it's simple and sounds like it could be in a real Mega Man game. It's not ridiculously over the top or complex, which I like.
I was holding off on listening to the original and the arrangements that came along with it until I finish covering the entire Mega Man 11 OST, but I _had_ to listen. No wonder it's the *only* theme in Gear Fortress, this is an absolute banger! And since MM11's sound design falls flat, It's no secret to say that you did this song beyond justice. You're one of the few Mega Man-style composers that truly capture the music style of the classic NES/9-10 games. This cover wouldn't feel out of place in any Mega Man game, to be honest. Splendid work!
I thought MM11's sound design wasn't "flat", but rather more "new age". The default options for the sound balancing (voices/sfx/music) is pretty heavy on the sfx, after I turned them down the OST started to shine a lot more. Is it different than the 8-bit we know and love? Definitely. Is this song in the video amazing? Hell yes. But I wouldn't call 11's original OST "flat", just new.
It's certainly new, yes. But the reason I consider it mediocre is because of the lack of variety and dynamics in the instruments, and the mixing makes the songs sound a bit muddy. (I had to take a number of re-listens to enjoy them) The compositions weren't really bad by any means, though some of them feel a bit lazy and same-ish because of the shared chord progressions, structure, and such. That's a flaw that doesn't bother me, though. I still find MM11's OST fresh and good despite its drawbacks.
Hopefully this isn't too pushy to ask, but is there any way, that with proper credit, I would be able to use this remix in a fangame I've been working on? I really like this remix in particular, which is why I'm asking. Hopefully it's not too much to ask for.

Musically, this is truer to the original than tater tot's version. You get full marks for that. That said, I think tater tot does something rhythmically that makes his version drive harder. I like both renderings...I would probably give your version an edge for it being truer to the original track.
I just listened to Tater's and yeah this is much better and more like the original song. Tater's is so... lacking in that original rhythm and beat that Golden Shades captured that much better and sounds really damn faithful to the original 8 Bit classic games OST's

If you're only going to make one wily stage theme, make it KICK ASS.

Mega Man 11 sucks. It's way too short, Mega Man is animated poorly, voiced even poorer, and the gear gimmick is lame.

This is WAAAAAY better than the one we got in Mega Man Maker
And the one in MMM is great, and that really means something
The 8-bit twang was exactly what this track needed.
No shix???? Oh My GOD already well done???!!! Still listening to it and makes my tears go down!! So much memories, thanks brother!!!!
This is exactly how it might sound in a demake. Nice work!
Absolutely amazing. I'd love to hear your take on Acid Man next; that's one of my favorite tracks from this game's soundtrack.
Yo this 8-bit beat is lit. Great I find it. Keep up the success on your channel.
Beautifully done - inline with the music of the classic games, but with some new stuff in there. Excellent work!
Good fuckin' shit dawg. You always know how to add spice to a song that was already great beforehand.
Just as awesome as the original version. This sounds amazing, thank you.
Hotdamn!! I like Wily Gear fortress theme, and this amplify it tenfold!! Awesome.
This is so good. So so so so good. So good that I teared up.

that track I love it .. and remember a lot Dr. Doppler Stage of Mega Man X3 .. just from the beginning of the track ..
MM11 Best track!. Sadly i cant say the same for the others, i dont feel the megaman soul.

Pretty sure this is in Mega Man Maker, dude, if you didn't know this already. Congrats.

Famitracker for the music, Photoshop for the art, After Effects for videos.

Fuse Man, Torch Man, and Acid Man have fucking really sick themes IMO, and Blast Man is real good too. Also Tundra Man's Instrumental Theme is good.

It's still weird to me that some people still say that Wily 1 from Megaman 2 is the best. I like this one better.
So do I. I also prefer MM7's Wily Stage 1 to that one, as well. Mega Man 2 in its entirety is pretty overrated, in my opinion.
