I use this foundation stick and I have dry skin. I powdered it with hourglass veil powder. It worked for me. I get a 10 to 12 hour wear. You are right . Everyone is different.

Hi, thank you for your honest opinion. Maybe you could use a different brush? For me this foundation works just fine. I am 49 years old and have a dry and dehydraded skin. Most of the time I apply it with the Morphy M439 or the realTechnique expert face brush. I push the foundation in to the skin with very small strokes instead of wiping it all over. Also with my vingers it works good for me. No patches. For me it works better to apply more foundation right away instead of layering. I'm sorry it didn't work for you.

I don't have a mean bone in my body. Just needed to say that.❤️ You're not doing it correctly, you're suppose to tap it onto your face not rub it into your face. It will cause streaks and it will also make the foundation go up into the brush. So essentially you're taking the product away. That's why it looks like you have nothing on your face. Please, whoever said they're not going to buy this product because of what it looks like on her...please reconsider. If you don't care for it return it. I tried it and love everything about it. Oily ladies I would suggest staying away from this one, it will be to hydrating for you and make you look like your skin is much oiler than it is. Dry skined women this could be your best friend if you do it correctly. Hope this cleared some things up.

There’s nothing like the Bareminerals original foundation I’m 47 and have worn it for years. Just add a touch of concealer on top where it’s needed, feels like nothing and with the right brush you can get light to full coverage if needed. But so excited about the Tom Ford review 😊It doesn’t have any pore clogging ingredients on the derm list.❤️your channel!

It's the #3 BH cosmetics brush in the Ulta set in the hologram bag (Angie hot and flashy talked about this set too) It comes with several other brushes at a great price. I bought a backup set😊 They also wash up great I've washed them once a week several times. It gives great full coverage. For lighter I use the one that always came with the original foundation.Hope you like it too💄😊

Marnie, I, personally, don’t think the foundation looks all that bad on you, but I’m sure it probably looks different in real life. After all, if you don’t like it, you don’t like it plain and simple. I have never had bad luck with bareMinerals products. I enjoy all of their foundations whether it be their old standby mineral powder foundation or the liquids that they have come out with since I started using their Original Mineral Foundation many years ago. Incidentally, I also have dry skin but no real dry patches or blemishes...thankfully, rarely do I ever have a blemish....now watch several pop up...LOL...🤪 I will definitely be trying this stick foundation. I would be interested in you trying it again once your face clears up. I don’t really think it is fair to give a negative review unless your skin is in flawless condition, but then that is just my opinion and I respect your opinion. I am sure the company will be disappointed that the foundation stick did not work any better for you than it did. At least it was free and you didn’t have to spend your own money to try it or even go out of your way or leave your home...it was sent to you...how lucky...!!! I will probably try it in the store before purchasing it myself. There is a cute boutique in my town that carries the entire bareMinerals line so that should be relatively easy for me to do. If you do decide to try the foundation stick again, please give us an update. I am so sorry it didn’t work for you...You win some, and you lose some, LOL.

I wish I would have stuck with this opinion. I bought it, regrettably. It clings to all texture, emphasizes wrinkles, oxidizes to a dark orange/peach and feels sticky. One of my least favorite foundations.

  • @annabarton6646
    @annabarton6646 4 года назад +2

I recently purchased this foundation, and I'm kind of a foundation noob. I'm moving away from tinted moisturizers and opting for a medium coverage. I did a lot of research before picking this one, and in part, I picked it because of the color selection and the claim that it was moisturizing. When I first used it, I really didn't like the texture. I could see I had something on my skin. I had to kind of experiment with it and this is not a foundation you can skip a day of exfoliation with (assuming you're using a gentle daily exfoliator). You really have to prep your canvas with this stick. That said, I think it's a decent foundation. I apply it on the forehead, nose and cheeks and blend it with Morphe's M439 buffer brush, which is really dense with midlength bristles. When I'm first applying it, I stipple it out, spreading out where it sits on my skin. Then I buff in round motions. Less is more to start out with, and once I buff out the initial application, I apply a bit more to my outer cheeks, where I get super red. My final impression is that it's a bit tacky on the skin, but I opt against a setting powder since I don't have great experiences with powder. The coverage is perfect for my needs, but I don't have a *lot* of hyperpigmentation, and my primary concerns are evening skin tone and covering redness. I tend towards dry skin except in my t-zone. I don't really deal with blemishes. Minor freckling, redness and dryness are my primary concerns. All in all, I like this product, but it does take practice to work with.

Julianne Hess...please reconsider buying this. She didn't use the brush correctly, she rubbed it in inside of tapping it on to her face. That's why it looked like it did. My skin is so dry, and I bought this product even before seeing this video. I could never find a product that looked good. This one does, has a medium coverage, and feels like silk on your skin. I can't believe I finally found the product I've searched forever for. If you don't care for it you can always return it but I hope you give it a chance. There are times I need to stay away from reviews because of this very reason. Julianne, if you do decide to purchase it let me know how it worked if you don't mind Janis ✌️✌️

So many people just raved about this. I am combo/dry, but by no means very oily, and I truly hated it. It caked up where I set it and disappeared anywhere I didn't set it. I was not a fan. Thank you for this review!!

I have to say Marnie, as much as I didn't want to, I LOVED the Tom Ford stick foundation and I still do! I have 50 year old dry, dehydrated, textured, acne scarred skin and it looks great on me! I do have to prep well, but I always do anyway. Usually use an oil along with the Tarte pore filling primer and those work beautifully!! I use a small, dense foundation brush that I spray with an illuminating setting mist first, then I pounce for full coverage, then lightly buff after. If I'm going out and I want that perfect coverage, I'll add a VERY light spray of Dior Airflash foundation on a beauty blender and pounce over the areas that need the most help/ coverage afterwards to make it perfect!! Good Luck and Thank you for all your hard work!! ~Angie~

I’m a dry girl too. I didn’t have a problem with the stick foundation when my skin was in really good shape (nothing major to cover) because I found using as little as possible helps but it’s not going to give coverage that most people need. Definitely does not have long wear so I find I do not reach for it. I much prefer the liquid version.

I have a couple of sticks but my favorite is the Tarte. It came with a brush that works great. I have to agree that this doesn’t look good on you at all. If it doesn’t start well it’s not likely to improve. Too bad, Bare Minerals is such a good brand.

Hi Marnie, I agree with your conclusion which is disappointing. By any chance have you done your top five foundations, it seems like it’s been awhile and you have been trying some new ones? I bought the one you suggested on Amazon (does it even have a name ) and I like it a lot. Also, do you know when the Sephora VIB sale will be yet?

I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on the Tom Ford foundation stick. I am 41 with dry/dehydrated skin. I really enjoy the TF stick foundation in the warm summer months (FYI, I live in hot, humid Alabama), but I don’t think it does me any favors during cold winter months. Thanks for your review of the Bare Minerals stick foundation. I will definitely be skipping it!

I swatched this foundation at Sephora and got the feeling that the texture was not going to be good on my 63 yr. old face because it was too sheer and felt greasy to the touch. I work 12 hr shifts and this product wouldn't even last to lunch time. Thanks Marnie for saving me time and money.

Hi Marnie, Thanks so much for this review. I have never tried any of the bare Minerals foundations. I did try a lipstick and unfortunately had a bad reaction to it. The only foundation stick I have used is from Bobbi Brown. It is $46 and it seems to work well on me, but that's just me. It'll be fun to see how the Tom Ford Foundation Stick performs. I have always thought the LaMer and Charlotte Tilbury foundations looked pretty on you. Thanks again for this in depth review. Enjoy your weekend! xoxo, Karen

Maybe pick up the Bobbi Brown stick foundation, I feel like I've heard it had been reformulated and I really like it. Also, just picked up the Osmosis foundation (Briana Stanko's website) and it is AMAZING! I'll say it again Marnie, pick up the CYO foundation! The finish is stunning, it manages to not stick to dry patches while still having great longevity. I use it as a mixer with everything for that reason.

Thank you for your review. I found that it has not worked for me either. I’ve tried to make it work but it simply looks bad on me. Every wrinkle is emphasized. I was hoping it would be creamier and glide on easier. I didn’t find it to be mature friendly. I guess we are in the minority.
