That was one of the best funniest stories I've ever heard 🤣. Much love from Mississippi ❤❤❤
With all the tomfoolery going on in our world this story is welcomed. I have a smile on my face and laughter in my heart. Thank you JD
Thank you, Janet and there is a word. I gotta use in the future story.
Oh my goodness, the imagery of Joe saddling up that bear and galloping off into the pitch dark! Clear as day in my mind's eye and through the tears of laughter in my eyes!
🤣😂
What a great story! Reminds me of the time I had to fight off a herd of venomous ducks!
Venomous ducks, now that sounds like a story!
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller - Maybe better than the one I told my schoolmates after a visit down south; that it was so swampy and there were so many alligators I had to step over their backs to reach the school bus. Told it with such a straight face the teacher sent me to the principal's office. Fortunately Mother Superior had a little more background in the fine art of folk tall tales.
😂
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller It's yours to finish if you like!
Why, you must be kin to Joe!
I have fallen in love with these stories. I’m from the Midwest but I can’t get enough of listening to these stories. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much, im happy you are here!
The picture in my mind of what that saddled up bear looked like was great! This was such a fun story to listen to! Thank you for sharing it! 😊
Thank you!
This is the kind of story my grandpa would have told me about 60 years ago. Great story, Great memories.
Thanks JD and stay safe out there my friends 🙏

You're Welcome Friend,

Wishing You & Yours a Wonderful Blessed
Evening 🌆 as Well.
Thank you for this story. I had a new tin roof put on my trailer about a year and a half ago. You won't have anything worth keeping, if you don't have a good roof. I lost a lot of sleep worrying about saving enough money to pay for that new roof. Patching the old roof wasn't going to keep working forever. I've never heard this story before.
Well, I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend that’s the purpose of this channel telling stories and nobody else does
Awesome story JD❤! There's nothing better than hearing the rain fall onto a tin roof. It will lull you right to sleep.
Morning. I so love the rain on a metal roof. Can barely hear it on the regular roofing they put up. But there’s an old tin sheet covered garage out back and I love to sit on the back porch and listen to that melody!
I love tin roofs. I lived in a trailer in my 20s... best sleep ever
Nothing beats walnuts falling in a tin roof.
I never laughed so hard!!! That can’t be a true story? If it is, well Joe’ one heck of a man! Loved it👍
Another Great One JD!
My papaw used to say "ya'll roll your britches legs up, that fella's spinnin' a yarn and its gettin' mighty deep in here"
Tin roofs r the greatest. I love to hear the rain hitting it
Me too!
Ain't that the truth
Great story. Put a big smile on my face. Thanks, JD.
Thanks Michael, glad you enjoyed this spinning of a "yarn"
I absolutely loved this story. I laughed so hard it almost took my breath
We all need a good laugh don't we?
Love it. My neighbor's house was built in 1900 and still has the tin roof on it. Good for Joe for conquering the bear
I love the sound of rain on a tin roof great sleeping weather
This story had me laughing , that bear never knew what was happening to him . Thanks and greetings from Belgium.

fabulous!
thank you David!
🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️that was a good one. These stories take me back to my childhood. Listening to my Mama telling bedtime stories and watching the story play out in my mind. We lived in a small house with a tin roof. It’s very true that you can’t hear anything but the drumming of the rain on the roof. I now live in a big city and own a house that has an aluminum awning on the porch. 🤣♥️
Precious memories of days gone by
That story made me laugh 😂 I want to believe every word 😮 a tall tell... I do 😂 Thank you
forgive me if I spin a yarn every now and then. My papaw would say "roll up your britches, it's gettin' deep in here!
I had to wait 10 minutes after the tale ended so that I could stop laughing long enough so that type and send this in. 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks so much, brother. Really appreciate your kindness and your encouragement. Have a blessed day.
By far, my favorite channel.

Now that's a STORY, a tall tale, a whopper. It's better'n the time I pulled a fish from a lake and that fish was so big the water level went down six inches when I pulled it out. Good one JD.

glad you enjoyed it Summer!
Greetings and blessings, Kin Folks, from the Foothills of the Ozarks of Arkansas.
So great to see some of my Ozarks people here
@TheAppalachianStoryteller Good to be here J.D.
While researching my Melungeon family history, I discovered your channel. Thank you for sharing our Kin Folks stories. Mahala Mullins is my Grandpa's Grandmother.
This reminds me of a man close to Beaumont Texas who trains large alligators for riding on their backs through the canals and swamps. I saw a picture of him riding on the back of a 14/ foot alligator in a magazine recently. So far he has trained 4 alligators.
I have a picture somewhere of a man with two bears harnessed up, pulling his wagon thru the mountains.. and he did it everyday for years!
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller i would love to see that picture. The man with the alligators says that most alligators start rolling in the water and are untrainable when that happens. I believe that it was 4 in total that he was able to train over the years. This man is a Cajun originally from Louisiana. He has dealt with alligators his whole life.
I grew up a mile from that mill you showed on this video.
that's awesome! I love that mill, it looks like a slice of heaven to me
Live it
That was a great story. Thank you j d now we know where the term bareback riding comes from lol
Oh, I see what you did there that’s great
Oh JD, another awesome story! Thanks so much! I’m going to check out your candles now. I don’t have a lot of money, but would like to support you. God bless you! From Canadice NY ❤
Thank you Kate!! You are awesome, ❤️
Great Stories ❣️ Thank you
Glad you like them!
Thanks JD for another great story ! But I soon realized my knee boots weren't tall enough so I had to put on my hip boots because it was getting awfully deep on this tale.
Color me slow, but I didn't realize it was a tall tale until he put the bridle on the bear. The story was developed perfectly. For example, they didn't hear the bear because of the rain, and so forth. Bear ate so much pig he was sleepy and groggy. Brilliant!
Papaw Coy always said, "boys, roll 'em up, it's gettin' deep in here now"
Thank you! I take great pride in the writing of these stories. I spend lots of time on that aspect.
I grew up in the very very south of New Zealand, ours is the last Airport before Antarctica and before Airplanes we were the last port before the big cold white... Up in the hills there were seasonal workers that made shine and had about 20 kids a piece.... I reckon we'd be kin folk to those mountain people....
wow, how interesting! I hope to get to New Zealand one day
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller Always a sofa at mine cuz, keep up the fine work
