Years ago, I bought my 1948 wooden motorboat from a neighbor and dear friend. He kept a log of every trip that he made in the boat, and I have continued the tradition. He describes the weather, the destination, the duration, and who was aboard. If he went fishing, the catch was also listed. It is a joy to read it.
Secretary desks are my favorite type of furniture. My grandfather had an antique shop, and he gave me one as soon as I started school (which I still have, along with 2 others that my father built). Thanks for the video.
I love your style! Tiny collections are so precious! Way back in the day I collected and played with Breyer Horses (the full size) and sadly sold them all off as I became more fascinated with books and tarot and needed the room. I do wish I had kept my Stablemates though. I also love curiosities and love your shelf display of them! I collect small bunny and mice figurines, small wildlife, mini tea sets and so much more. lol Addicting. Not to mention my books, my tarot/oracles, my postcards, my crystals! Looking forward to part 2. New subscriber and happy to have found your channel!
I love how your horse collection is on your desk! It looks like a wild herd just casually passing through. How inspirational! Thanks for sharing these tours!! 🐴 ♥️
Thank you AdventureDenali. I still have my things in storage, so everything you showed, is what I miss about not being in our home, so seeing your tour gives me some comfort, knowing that I will be in my space soon enough when we find the right place. I have a feather from a black cockatoo, "Helpful hedgehog" is my felted writing mascot, herbal tea ready to go into new square coloured glass jars. I could also collect antique desks. I have one typewriter that I bought months ago, still in bubblewrap, with a QWERTZ keyboard from 1938. I will soon number my journals on the spine, after you have shared your sage system. We are in an Airbnb at the moment in Sydney, Australia, I have some journals, some inks, three fountain pens, some Van Gogh stickers, a few stamps, two stamp pads in gold and silver, three small homemade watercolour travel palettes in little tins.....to keep me sane, but often find I need something that is packed away....... I recently bought a Pilot Namiki Elite in extra fine with a burgandy gold barrel...my first gold nib which arrived the same day that my favourite and now rare burgandy Pilot Desk pen got a crack in the barrel. So the new pen came just as one will be retiring. :( :) We have just booked another Airbnb over Christmas for a week, then we do some petminding in the West of Sydney, looking after an older black labrador, called Bailey over the New Year. I would like to thank you for your calming videos, keeping me sane, and giving me the stability of your environment that I long for. Hope you don't have to move again for a while, and that your home is comfy with your partner. Eliza in Australia..xx
Thank you for the tour, as requested! It's so cozy that you have your own little space, and both economical and comforting to share a house with a loved one. I'm excited for the day when I'll soon live in my first little house and have a small office all my own. Creativity needs its own space. Authors like Virginia Woolf, Sandra Cisneros, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Alexandra Fuller all have said the same.
You’re very welcome! It is definitely nice to share the financial burden with a partner, and comforting it’s true. Creativity does need space, you’re so right about that. Do you have plans in the very near future to find a place of your own?
@@adventuredenali I do, my husband and I plan to move in the Spring to a small house he's been renting out, and it has a small room I plan to use as a creative space. It will be the first time I live in a whole house as an adult, and I'm almost 30, so I'm looking forward to it!
thank you for sharing your space with us. I very much enjoy your videos., I found of you recently from a Tokyo podcast reference, fountain pen associated of course.
Just thought I’d share that I found a 1938 diary of a teenage boy from Des Moines IA in a local antique mall (suburban Chicago). He has daily entries until summer break and then sporadically from September. It’s a fascinating slice of life from that era. My husband and I read his daily entries every other year starting in January. The penmanship is fantastic since students were graded in that back in the day.
There is something weirdly interesting looking at another persons living space or work space. I like your wall-mounted magazine holder. I noticed, looking at your book shelves, you must have an interest in Tarot Cards as well. I live in an old house and prefer to have period furniture. Your desk is lovely. When you showed the collection of china dog figurines I enjoyed the little dachshund. Thanks for the tour and I will look out for Part Two.
What a lovely space. It must be inspiring to have everything right there within arms reach. I have a beautiful old secretary filled with my antique books and writing supplies - and yet I still find myself planted at the dining table most of the time when I journal or write letters. Lolol.
OMG! Your stablemates collection is killing me! That was one thing that had just started when I was collecting the large ones. I’m dying to get more of these, but they are so costly where I live. I remember I was a kid when they first came out in the early 80s I think :D I have about 2 or 3 I think. I had tons of the larger breyers, but gave a bunch away and am looking to re home more. I just can’t keep the larger ones anymore and I’d like them to go to a person who will love them :) Your esthetic is stunning!
Love your spaces! I can't wait until my home is filled with things we love. We have only lived here for a year and have never had so much space before! My daughter is going to squeal at those horses when I show her!
What a lovely space you have there! I also enjoyed seeing your collections. I'm a collector at heart too and I love seeing what things speak to others. For me, it's elephants mostly but I have a few of those dogs. :)
Love seeing your room and space it’s so mystical every corner! That old diary you found sounds so lovely, would love to see the inside snippet of her pages vs your pages on similar days. Can’t wait to see the update on your beautiful secretary desk!
Your capacity of amazement is so refreshing Alicia! Very soothing to watch ~ for some reason a "feel good " mood is transmitted to me often after seeing your videos, mainly because it makes us see the multiple possibilities of beauty sourrounding us. Happy days in your new nest😊
I'm a new subbie to your channel. My daughter Collects Breyers and she has a huge collection of the big ones and she has a few little ones . They are so Beautiful.. One day I would love to own a typewriter..❤
I really quite enjoyed your room tour, its inspiring me to work on personalizing my own work space. Your work space is very organic and brimming with your personality. My workspace is a bit spartan and utilitarian. Now I understand that surrounding yourself with tokens of things you love and stuff that evoke happy memories creates a "safe space" and fertile environment for inspiration to grow :D
You live in Tucson, Arizona?? Lucky girl. I love Tucson. We visited for 3 days last September and went up Mt Lemmon, Colossal Cave. I have a small collection of vintage postcards of my favorite places there, and a vintage Arizona Highways magazine or two. Would love to live there. Just subscribed. A YT search on the brass Kaweco Sport led me to your world. :)
What a wonderland! Love your collections, and the way you display them. I have to ask: the little wooden box that is under your tool jar, next to Hidalgo, do you have the microscope that came in it originally? I have that same box, including the microscope. I got it brand new (yes, I'm "vintage" too) for my birthday when I was maybe 10 years old.
Hello and thank you! That is indeed a microscope! So cool that you have the same one, and got it brand new! This one was a gift from a friend, he used it in collage.
Hey! So I don’t know what’s happening, but my reply to you about having an Instagram isn’t showing up. So I figured I’d answer this way, haha. I do not have an Instagram, however I could use a relatives account to DM you, and we can exchange addresses that way, or we could use email if you’d prefer that =)

That is absolutely incredible! It sounds as though you have some treasures in your house.

One of the first views! Yay!
Lovely collection you have. I’m a book collector as well. A bookworm at that too, teehee
Hello and thank you! :D
Do you have a list of books to read in the new year, or do you pick them when you feel inspired to read a new book?
@@adventuredenali Hello! Yes, I pretty much pick based on my mood. However, I do have a lot of TBRs; it’s quite overwhelming, haha
That magazine holder is so cool and eye catching!

are you looking for any other penpals! I'm looking for one to share journaling supplies with! :)
i avoid dusting some shelves as well because of the amount of items housed on them.
I loved this! So excited for part 2 :)
Yay! Thank you!

I loved his novel Lost in the Barrens.
@@SkySpiral8 and A Whale for the Killing….though it’s pretty sad
