You might have healthy, real food inside the pan, but is the pan itself contributing to disease in your body? Dr. Josh Axe explains what cookware to avoid and what to use instead.
-A recent research from Newswise found that teflon cookware raises LDL cholesterol, causing heart disease.
-Research has also shown that teflon cookware releases highly toxic substances at high temperatures.
-Side effects of using teflon cookware include thyroid issues.
-Studies found that the use of teflon cookware increases risk of infertility by 134% in both males and females.
-Teflon cookware also increases the risk of cancer and acts as an immunosuppressant, increasing inflammation throughout the body.
    Action Steps:
    1. Replace teflon cookware with stainless steel, waterless, ceramic, or cast iron cookware. To prevent sticking, cook with coconut oil, butter, or grapeseed oil.

When cooking with stainless warm the pan up before you place in the fat you use and then cook. Nothing will stick don't start fat in a cold pan.

the secret to easy to clean healthy cookware is in tge gyage of tge stainkess steel!!! I heard this from Wokfgang Puck while he was demonstrating his stainless on hsn.com
I forget the guage but all his pots and pans are that guage. (his pressure cooker has nonstick inside it, however, so check all his stuff fully before you order). I immediately chose from his sets and ordered one, and I swear to you, I have never looked back!!! Some time later I ordered a second set that had some different pots and pans.
The height and shapes of his pans are sooo great - I will never stop loving them.

Exactly. A average teflon pan was made off aluminum alloy and it's melting point around 1220°F, so at 1000°F your pan would become soft & mellow. I really doubt that what he said is possible or real, yes fluoride can be poisons in some ways but it dose raise your cholesterol so it is really weird!

    Hii, Josh,
there is so much different types of toxic metal used to create such a thing call stainless steel. and there are so many grade of stainless steel, some using expensive metal element as a filler and corrosive deterrent ... etc..
can you do a deep research on stainless steel linking to health hazard.
I know a lot of stainless steel cook ware uses cheap industrial grade stainless steel to make cook ware, and the government are not helpful at all in this aspect and people are not well educated in this aspect.
i do have reason to belieave stainless steel cookware actually many of them are bad to health. they are not a metal and appear on earth by nature, and many metal element used in it are cancerous when leak out. and they do leak out. i have many pot and soup scoops that have tiny crates on the surface of stainless steel.
nobdoy really do a helpful research on stainless steel pots that eventually have tiny black "craters" on it.. which could be leaking out heavy metal and toxic into our meal constantly.
in the end, i started to put doubt on stainless steel cookware in my life.
i think i will go for good enamel coated cast iron cookware (although they are so heavy and my wife doesn't like it).
.... i am feeling so helpless..

i believe s.steel (food ) is suitable for anything, as long as the content is not left in the pot prolonged period of time.
so, from now onward, i uses only cast iron and s.steel pot (food grade). after cooking, i put them in glass (rectangular container with lid).. that's the best way i believe to let the food have less exposure to metal surfaces.. as tomato or pasta sauce is acidic, which will bring out the no good stuff out of s.steel pot..
so, a bit inconvenience brings a better long run health. that is of course if you pursue healthy organic live style. else if one eat junk food.... then don't even bother to mention about these pot and steel thing..
      that's my humble opinion.

I’ve just noticed that this video was released back in 2010 when you just starting out and didn’t know any better ..🙁🙁 , may be long before you met with Robin Jordan who would be appalled of what you are saying here .... stainless steel and cast iron for safe cooking !!!! What would that do to your credibility ??? Pls take a moment to take down this video together with some of your very early videos who do more harm than good ... you are much better than that, I believe in you and in general admire your efforts to educate people ... you can and you are doing better .... cheers

i have a hard time hearing you and my volume is all the way up. You might be loud enough but for someone that has kids and constant noise, it would be helpful if you used a microphone or something.

Looked at your website. You are a chiropractor (that's what DC stands for) and don't have any expertise to comment on this. Also, and you may not have learned this in chiropractor school, but if you are going to cite research you should be citing to peer reviewed journal articles, not news sites.

Whoa... this video is incredibly misleading! Of course, give Teflon the boot. But what's being suggested here is surprising. Stainless Steel can leach an array of metals into your food. And excess of iron and the form of iron in cast-iron is toxic to the body. Ceramic cookware is made with toxic chemicals. Producing ceramic cookware involves environmentally destructive mining. Graze-free pure clay cookware is as good as it gets. Miriam's Earthen Cookware is made in America. Their company has been tested and certified to have no lead or toxins in general. As a bonus, Miriam's Earthen Cookware is eco-friendly and woman owned/founded.
