I was apart of the IB academy in the final year of the school’s operation. Was only in middle school. My father played on 2 of the school’s state championship teams back in the 80s. Indian all in our blood 🙏🏽
Graduated 2005. Its crazy because this school is in downtown Flint. Every single building around it has been renovated, you have Mott community college, University of Michigan- Flint, Michigan State medical school and Kettering university, all of which are walking distance from each other. It could have been renovated by powers catholic high school, but the sell was blocked. And a brand new school literally was build right next to the school.
Was in there the first couple of days during lockdown. Everything inside and in the streets were dead. I discovered that piano and hit a key. It was incredibly loud. All stealth was gone. That felt like the longest piano note in my life.
Just seen this, my brothers all went to this school back in the 70's / 80's. We grew up in the now abandoned and last I heard completely shut down, Elm's Mobile Home Park off Dort Highway.
True story, the big room at 10:04 was the school’s original gym from wayyyyyy back when the school was in its earliest days. Found that out when I was going to school there.
For some reason I thought they had old school wooden lockers generations of my family went to this school dating back to the 40s . I wish the city would have repurposed this building before it went into disrepair . It could have been a library , retail space , offices , youth center etc . So sad . Just seeing so many things that could have been repurposed in other schools like lockers etc upsets me in this condition . I hope some of the architectural details get placed in other buildings such as trim etc . Bits an pieces of this place could help restore other historic buildings .
My dad went to school here in the early 80s. He eventually dropped out and wasn't surprised in its demise. He always said it wasn't in the best part of town. Alot of fighting/drugs, racism etc.
Gangs and Dope dealers destroyed the entire city. Who hell wants to live there. Every building and home has been trashed. Once had so much life and promise. And now its all gone. Only thing left is junkies, crackheads, and prostitutes. 😒
I graduated in 1971 I like the building and had my favorite teachers It sickens me to see my beautiful high school turned into a junk heap gaggu tagging mess that punks and druggies use for their play area Flint you are going to Hell very fast.I pray for you.
You missed so many Easter Eggs! If you ever go back, DM me first, I’ll go through all the places you need to hit. Back in 1989, I lived inside FCHS while I attended there.
Yes. You can access it from the door that's across the driveway from the cafeteria, so when you're standing outside looking at the door - to the left you will see the field house, and on the right you will see the cafeteria door. If you turn 180 degrees, you will see the planetarium across the way, and next to the field house you will see a big smoke stack on the little building that used to be for welding classes. The tunnel connects to that building. And it goes to the library and institute of arts too, but since those structures are still occupied, I'm assuming they're monitored with some sort of security system.
it's not insane, it's from an era when it wasn't a shame to honor smart kids and achievements and kids earned their grades way way better than the lunacy of today
It was built in 1922....What a beautiful old building..Could be re-purposed for many things including housing, apartments but hey,we gotta send 120 billion to Ukraine..having been in this school a lot of times, makes me sick looking at this..
I went there in 92 and 93 and part of 94. My ex attended that school. He murdered his twin brother in 1994. I’ve had bad memories of that achool. Sorry it closed. It was a very beautiful school and it was weird how it was in the ghetto. Also we rode city buses back then. We didn’t even have school buses. Wonder if the students still had to get their mta passes to go to school. Crazy and we were the first on the country in the 90 s to have to walk through metal detectors everyday.

It’s really sad how destructive humans are! Some people were just not brought up right, or NEVER brought up period.
I graduated in `1966 It is sad to see how much has been done to the building Our class had over 500 students in it
My dads swim record is still on the wall of records in the pool room. Woah
I graduated from here in 1997. Thanks for sharing. Very depressing, but eye opening.

Class of 1997. Gangstas Paradise. Kearsley Park, MCC...it's been a long time.
Was in there the first couple of days during lockdown.
Everything inside and in the streets were dead.
I discovered that piano and hit a key. It was incredibly loud.

It’s pretty sad I’ve heard a lot of stories about this school about body’s being found but I’ve also seen a couple hung ropes
Just seen this, my brothers all went to this school back in the 70's / 80's. We grew up in the now abandoned and last I heard completely shut down, Elm's Mobile Home Park off Dort Highway.
I remember they never let us into the pool area , this is the first time seeing it
I remember when flint central high school became abandoned.
I guess you didn't know there is a sub level as well? It contained more classrooms and even a radio station.
Sick location, great exploring.
The attic was the JROTC room
You miss the a few things old radio station, lunch art and music room.
This place is insanely cool I might check it out next time I'm up here.

Is it true there’s a tunnel in there that connects schools and other buildings?
