@oscarzx n, I understand. At least the Switch got them. Though the physical copy was not a true one like on PS4 or Xbox 1 as only RE Zero is on the cart. Plus even the digital versions are more money on Switch, $29.99 vs. $19.99. What.
@jesus barrera Yeah, blame Nintendo for everyone buying $60 games at $60 proving why the business never needs to lower its prices to sell copies. Uh huh. Maybe if everyone stopped buying Breath of the Wild two years in, they'd need the idea, but they don't cause they sold OVER TEN MILLION COPIES at 60 bucks a pop.
@jesus barrera If it still gets them money, from a business standpoint they never need to. Am I saying it's BETTER that Nintendo always keeps their games at 60 all the time? Hell no, it kind of is a pain in the ass that lots of games quickly dip and launch titles are still full price. But from Nintendo's view...they never need to cause everyone still buys them for that. They REALLY need to do Nintendo Selects already for Switch for Breath of the Wild *or hell ARMS cause they're trying to re-market it* but million-copy sellers at full price is a lot of bank to be made.

Man, Johnny is still as awesome as when I last watched him around 2016. Must've been at around 100k subscribers then. I really stopped playing video games since then, and I stopped watching video game videos along with it. No one makes videos like Johnny, and I love it. Rock on man.
At least Rebecca had some really nice looking costumes from what I saw. Really glad to see you doing well Johnny. Your videos are definitely a bright spot in these troubled times.
No, and that's a good thing. Sometimes when he rapid fires off lines I get behind and have to rewind the video. I've had to do that many times on his prior videos. Leaving in breathes helps the viewer to fully understand the current line before moving on to the next one. Sure it bloats the video out, but I think it's necessary to help make it feel more natural. Though it's important to note that breathes is not equal to long stretches of nothing. Johnny doesn't put in long stretches of nothing, but I wouldn't call breathes nothing (in case some argues this counterpoint).
That Hookshot idea as a weapon should’ve been included. Heck, Wesker Mode is probably the most random addition RE has ever seen in rereleases, so who knows in the future?
2:25 Well, that perception probably maintained due to Nintendo primarily making kid-friendly games like Mario, Zelda, F-Zero, Star Fox. Yeah, there's the occasional Conker's Bad Fur Day, Eternal Darkness, and Bayonetta 2, but Nintendo's library is still primarily the former. It isn't helped that the more mature games are spread out between whole console generations.
11:05 I kinda find it hilarious that this infected zombie boss is trying to kill that guy in a slow and dramatic fashion, but Jill is ruining the moment by constantly shooting at him, and he was getting irritated so he ran up to her and swatted her away basically telling her to piss off.

In terms of classic and co-op gameplay, there is another. The criminally overlooked Outbreak. Honestly, if Capcom ever wants to go back to pre-rendered backgrounds and tank controls (or them as an option along analog) how about an Outbreak File #3?
Fun factoid: in Umbrella Chronicles some of the new scenarios they added involving Rebecca help to better bridge the gap between 0 and 1, and further explain that the reason why she's more danger prone in RE1 is because she never got any chance to get any proper sleep, so by RE1 she's sleep deprived and not really on her A game (I think it was stated somewhere that the newer scenarios in Umbrella Chronicles that aren't retellings of events from RE0, 1, and 3 are considered canon). Also the N64 version of RE2 included a new file which indicated Rebecca faked Billy's death in a report, but the canon of this file is in question.
Technically, Lisa Trevor is introduced way earlier if you check one of the doors in the opening section of the mansion where you can hear her behind it but I can kind of see what you mean.
The 2002 RE1 Remake and RE Zero bombed because they were made exclusive to the GameCube. Most RE fans of the PS1 classics had PS2s, not GameCube. The irony is that once Capcom finally ported RE1 Remake to modern consoles and pc it sold extremely well and that's why they decided to "remake" RE2 and RE3. Unfortunately, the teams behind the two recent remakes did not have Shinji Mikami there to make sure nothing was cut, but push to improve and add like with the RE1 Remake. Didyouknowgaming released a video talking about the development history of RE3 1999 and Shinji got that team to add content to the game. Content that Capcom cut in the so called remake. Oh Capcom...
@@Gruntvc yeah I know, the series director felt he betrayed their Nintendo deal when Resident evil 4 was released to multiple platforms. However, you can't just continue a series without money. He had to learn that the hard way.
@Zero_OR 5, True, you need money. Sucks that the PS2 port, which except for some nice extra content, is objectively worse than the GC original and we lost Shinji Mikami over it. Can't speak to how he is as a person, but Shinji definitely had a positive impact on Capcom back then. Really missing his influence now with RE3 Remake.
I thought the first two were fine, but yeah things really went down hill in the third movie. And I swear there continuity is 10 times worse then the X-men films were.
All of the movies are terrible. I feel like people only like the first two movies because everything from the third onward was so abysmal it makes the first two look good.
Playing through zero. I was convinced billy would become the tyrant in RE1. I think that would have been interesting and given some point to his character
So in less than 24 hrs they turned him into a Tyrant? Even if that wasn't completely unrealistic, how would they do it if all the researchers and scientists died and turned into zombies prior to both these games. Although would be cool, doesn't make any sense.
@@snake-oz8nu You're applying real world logic to the batshit insane nonsense of this series? Besides they have shown people turning into monsters inside of ten minutes after being given a virus. Birkin? Steve?
REmake was my intro to this series. I was in high school at the time, and all my friends were going off about how great it was, so I drove to a local store after school one day and picked up a copy. I liked it so much that I later picked up RE0 and the GCN ports of all the sequels.
"Resident Evil Zero" - A title that perfectly describes how much of an impact it has on the series - JUST JOKING - - But seriously. I like RE Zero, I thought the 2-character gameplay was interesting and made for some cool puzzles, and I didn't find the inventory issues that annoying. Besides, I like having multiple characters around. Jokes aside, though, it didn't really influence the other games in the series, not in terms of plot nor gameplay. On nothing, really. Which is a shame, it would have been cool to see the 2-character gameplay brought back, or the hability to leave items anywhere you want.
i still think zero is a better RE than code veronica. sure the lack of an item box really hurts it, and the enemies are nonsense. but CV isnt that diferent... but at the very least... there's no steve in zero. and that is a massive bonus.
@@Eloras_Clownary6498 revelations 2 could be considered if the partner character was actually useful. 0's partner AI can help in fights, gives you 6 extra item slots (a reason i disagree with the inventory argument since you actually have 12 slots if you just think strategically), and can be player controlled simultaneously in tight situations. Rev 2's partner AI was sooooo heavily built around MP and even then not that well. They get shit for weapons (seriously fuck moira and her "I'm in a life and death situation but i still won't use a gun" bs), are virtually useless as pack mules since items are scarce (as well as you having a larger inv reserve), and the character when not player controlled is dumb as a box of rocks.
Resident Evil 1 Remake 2002 is arguably the best remake ever done. It stays faithful to the PS1 classic, but adds a ton of content and improves the shortcomings of the original. Really wish Capcom would've done the same for RE2 and RE3, but no Shinji Mikami after RE4.
Agreed. I don't know how you look at everything the RE1 remake did so right and just completely ignore all of that just to give us these boring, over the shoulder, modern style horror games instead.
Honestly wouldn't say the REmake 2 we got is nothing to scoff at. (REmak3...Maybe struck alil too soon.) Though, if I am honest, it would've been interesting to see 2 and 3 remade in the style of REmake. (The Classic style, basically) Perhaps that would make for a fun Fan Project now that these REmakes are done, wouldn't you say?
Resident Evil Remake certainly has the most foreboding atmosphere in my experience. The music and lack of character interactions compared to other titles helps. The characters being too chatty kind of undermines the atmosphere.
@Shin Computer-Monster, Resident Evil 2 Remake already made some questionable cuts and changes, but I definitely enjoyed the gameplay. I considered it my game of the year for 2019. I was hoping for the same with RE3 Remake, but unfortunately, they make so many more cuts and changes I can barely even call it a remake. It's more a reboot. As it stands, RE3 Remake is at best a good game, but not a game of the year contender. Capcom definitely rushed it and knew the single player would not be worth $60+, so they bolted on Project Resistance which has loot boxes and microtransactions up $29.99. No thanks, bro. Fans are doing a better job preserving the classic trilogy than Capcom. There's fans hard at work getting the old games to work on modern pcs in HD. Meanwhile, Capcom hasn't rereleased the original games in some form on any of the current available consoles or pc. A shameful display. I've seen a few fan projects, one which started as an RE2 Remake before it became its own game, Daymare 1998.
Nothing is better during a quarantine than a new Johnny video! P.s. Don't you just hate leeches that randomly transform the dead into zombies through their juices, right?
Would love a look at the persona series in the future now that you’re trying this dual marathon setup it wouldn’t be as bad doing RPG marathons hopefully
2:22 Part of the reason the PS2 is the best selling console of all time is because a lot of people used it to double as a system and DVD player. Back then, it was like $200 for most DVD players, and I highly doubt that any console is going to surpass the PS2 because of this
I don't think the PS2 could've handled RE1 Remake very well. The PS2 port of RE4 was very rough compared to the GameCube original. PS2 RE4 apparently sold better, but at the cost of Shinji Mikami quitting Capcom. Anyone know why none of the RE games ever released on the original Xbox?
Yeah, whenever I play Resident Evil 0, I use Billy to explore and clear out new areas of enemies and keep Rebecca behind and carry most of the healing and puzzle items. That’s probably the best way to play the game.

I can see the two character management being annoying and having certain characters locked out because of event sequencing (like of Billy gets caught in the cage early on instead of rebecca. Hes also right that the train is probably the best part of the game. But I'll say that zero does have some amazing atmosphere and is worth at least a look while on sale.
Thank you Johnny as always for keeping us entertained but especially during these trying times . Been a huge fan for years and the excitement I get every time I see new videos released never changes after all these years . Also the Dreamcast trying to join the party bit had me rolling
Also the classic johnnys ps one mini won’t close bit, that I think about every time mine won’t
Day ?? of quarantine: Watching Johnny VS.
The days are so hard to keep track of
Thankfully I keep a journal. I think we all collectively started quarantine when the toilet paper got ransacked. According to my journal we are...day 21 of isolation! Wash your hands people...
@@grantmoore8228 Turn the page. Wash your hands. Turn the page. Wash your hands.
Thanks Johnny for this marathon! It actually persuaded me, and a couple weeks ago I got REmake on PS4. A fantastic experience so far!
One tip for the remaster versions
You can still use tank controls while using the alternate controls. The alternate is using the analog stick while the d-pad uses tank controls. This way you can get the advantage each one has to offer.
the Dreamcast trying to sneak in there at 2:18 has me dead. Johnny, you're so good at the small visual gags
01:21 Seriously, Lewis still looks like the standing example of a college lecturer. Does anyone else think so?
*Slowly raises hand*
Man, Johnny is still as awesome as when I last watched him around 2016. Must've been at around 100k subscribers then. I really stopped playing video games since then, and I stopped watching video game videos along with it. No one makes videos like Johnny, and I love it. Rock on man.
Well looks his Resident Evil review is back from the dead!
At least Rebecca had some really nice looking costumes from what I saw. Really glad to see you doing well Johnny. Your videos are definitely a bright spot in these troubled times.
This is becoming my favorite channel. I binge watched the entire Metal Gear series. I forgot most of the story....not to mention funny as fuck 😂
Your videos just get better and better. They sure have helped during this trying time.
Ahhhh a good day when Johnny uploads xD
Your intro is so good every time I listen to it it's so great
That's Tee Lopes for ya
Anyone else noticed Johnny left in more of his breaths between lines than usual in this one?
''You were almost a covid 19 sandwich''
"The T-vividy-vividy" cracked me up. 😂
Resident Evil 2002 is my favorite remake of all time. It also has my favorite version of Jill
Dude I got say first time viewer. And I Love you opening song. It gets me ready for a Video Game journey of knowledge. Also sweet videos bro love what I've seen so far.
RE: Zero.
That one with the train and the leeches.
The train is only 15 min or so. It was an odd game.
16:30 I always figured Billy helped her learn to play the piano
Legit best way to experience RE0: Play it's take on the game in Umbrella Chronicles. (Helps that game has DC Douglas as Wesker)
To me, not much is better than watchin a new Johnny video which drinking some warm tea on a crisp windy April night. It just feels right.
"Billy the Shotgun"
He finally grew up...
Jill-"Ok, I'll check the door on the OPPOSITE side!" My favorite line delivery from the famous Jill herself xD
Nothing is better than getting all nice and warm in bed and watching a 30 minute Johnny video
Thank you for continuing to release these videos. They're great in a way for me to relax as I work in produce during this Covid outbreak (which might make the comment dated but still).
I don't know if you'll respond to this, but I just want to give you my thanks and appreciation. Been a fan since your first Budokai video.
1:18 'Lewis Medeiros' eh?
*Seems like he's not graced very well from that dark day on the 3rd of February 2015, copyright strike and all on BSC, with his poor handling of the situation (ala getting friendly with the claimant) and witch-hunting activities on Twitter not being taken well by a number of disappointed fans indeed.*
A good thing you were better than that though Johnny, my hat goes off to you in what you have become and the great things you have achieved since then, setting a better example for us fans here! :P
In terms of classic and co-op gameplay, there is another. The criminally overlooked Outbreak. Honestly, if Capcom ever wants to go back to pre-rendered backgrounds and tank controls (or them as an option along analog) how about an Outbreak File #3?
Have you heard of "Under the Skin" (recently covered by Nitro Rad)? I heard it has a RE level in it.
Man even though it bombed, Remake 1 is considered one of the best remakes in general and one of the best in the series.
Zero_OR 5 still sold 1.5 million on a GameCube. Thrived on ps4 and Xbox one
@@Gruntvc Wait, what got cut from RE3's remake?
i remember playing a lot of resident evil survivor as a kid and liking it a lot, am i the only one?
The RE movies are trash.
Making films and games to appeal to "EVERYONE"
That's a bad decision..
Yeah, Transformers knows about that until recently
The first one and the second animated movie are both fine.
@@oscarmccormack1611 For me, the movies didn't start going downhill until the third.
I thought the first two were fine, but yeah things really went down hill in the third movie.
And I swear there continuity is 10 times worse then the X-men films were.
All of the movies are terrible. I feel like people only like the first two movies because everything from the third onward was so abysmal it makes the first two look good.
REmake is the scariest game I’ve played. I also like how in the intro it’s like Christhsiway as one word with how it is said
Playing through zero.
Birkin? Steve?
@@nohomers100 Laughs in Umbrella Chronicles Lore and Knowledge.

Resident evil zero.

Save often and don’t have back seat gamers fall asleep.
That game is really boring if you play it, but if you watch it, I think you might fall asleep.
Rotate your save
Dark Shadow Storm that is until Eliot fell asleep during the game
Jose 84 like Eliot did?

Already havin a good mornin after my online class and a new resident evil Johnny video :)
I'm starting to love RE. I've played RE2 Remake and RE7. I briefly played RE4, but it felt kinda clunky.
Penguin Dragneel RE4 is starting to show its age.
It's called tank controls. Get used to it.
REmake was my intro to this series. I was in high school at the time, and all my friends were going off about how great it was, so I drove to a local store after school one day and picked up a copy. I liked it so much that I later picked up RE0 and the GCN ports of all the sequels.
"Resident Evil Zero" - A title that perfectly describes how much of an impact it has on the series - JUST JOKING -
- But seriously.
I agree with you completely. RE0 was actually the first RE I played, at least I got some enjoyment out of it.
Resident Evil Revelations 2
I still play both of these games they are pretty good and both are impressive
Resident Evil 1 Remake 2002 is arguably the best remake ever done. It stays faithful to the PS1 classic, but adds a ton of content and improves the shortcomings of the original.
Really wish Capcom would've done the same for RE2 and RE3, but no Shinji Mikami after RE4.
Agreed. I don't know how you look at everything the RE1 remake did so right and just completely ignore all of that just to give us these boring, over the shoulder, modern style horror games instead.
Honestly wouldn't say the REmake 2 we got is nothing to scoff at.
(REmak3...Maybe struck alil too soon.)
Though, if I am honest, it would've been interesting to see 2 and 3 remade in the style of REmake. (The Classic style, basically)
Perhaps that would make for a fun Fan Project now that these REmakes are done, wouldn't you say?
@@Da_ComputerMonster With the money Capcom wasted on all these crappy spin-off games over the years, they could have funded such projects themselves.
I like how all the ads I got are the RE3 remake. Pog.
Nothing is better during a quarantine than a new Johnny video!
P.s. Don't you just hate leeches that randomly transform the dead into zombies through their juices, right?
When you gently pushed the dreamcast off to the side I died
Would love a look at the persona series in the future now that you’re trying this dual marathon setup it wouldn’t be as bad doing RPG marathons hopefully
...Now I want Johnny to do a dual RPG marathon of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. He will not survive it.
Johnny trying to close the ps1 at 5:13' brought nostalgia to me because I had that issue for years
God damn though, those pre-rendered scenes makes these games look so freaking good
Love the bit with the dreamcast, "just gonna sneak in here" "nope nope nope, oh no you don't, get back here "
AHH yes that most dangerous of bio weapons. T-vividyvividy
There is seriously no better feeling than preparing a meal and then sitting down to see a new Johnny upload.
>Can cuss
>Can't say [REDACTED]
Gotta love RUclips
2:22 Part of the reason the PS2 is the best selling console of all time is because a lot of people used it to double as a system and DVD player. Back then, it was like $200 for most DVD players, and I highly doubt that any console is going to surpass the PS2 because of this
That's also the reason why it lasted from 2001 to like 2013.
It was a cheap option.
Bing watching your videos whilst in lockdown :) thanks for all the content Johnny!
Yeah, whenever I play Resident Evil 0, I use Billy to explore and clear out new areas of enemies and keep Rebecca behind and carry most of the healing and puzzle items. That’s probably the best way to play the game.
Johnny’s reviews are chill af!
the 2002 remake still holds amazingly up, zero I think is honsetly decent
I love Remake, I hate 0 lol.
0 is playable, it's not the worst classic RE it anything. But I find it pretty bland and boring these days.
@@adamdavis1737 Personally I really hated the character switching mechanic. It got really boring and tedious after awhile and I basically forced myself to finish the game.
