That's a nice guitar. I feel it covers a lot of "bases" in terms of design. It appeals to Telecaster fans, it appeals to fans of harder genres because of the humbuckers, it has a retro colour, but a modern headstoock, some classy binding... It's simple, elegant, and seemingly versatile. I'd feel comfortable taking that on stage for a punk gig, or a metal gig, or a surf rock gig, or a top-40 covers gig... wouldn't be out of place at any of them.
At least you got arooooound, at least 12 to unbox? I haven't even gotten my custom from 10s yet 😂😂 Also saw the comment you posted, hope you've been alright and I apologize for my impatience
Can we all just stop and recognize how fucking great Hunters Demos always sound?!? Hunter you should totally make a compilation of all your demo songs..id rock the shit out of it 🤘🤘🤘
That kind of headstock on a T-style guitar, is like putting a Ferrari front spoiler on a Ford Model T....takes some times to getting used to, for sure.
From the instant i saw the video to sweet child of mine I fell in love with the guitar that Izzy played in it. I’ve been away from the guitar scene for the past 5 yrs (had to sell my whole collection to pay for a house move) and on returning I find a copy of my all time fav (alpine white) and have finally ordered myself one, can’t wait.
Thanx for another awesome review Hunter. Grabbed one of these bad boys asap and got lucky with a first batch unit from Dec. 2019 outta Indonesia weighing just 7lbs. 11oz. My fretboard is super sick like the one you demoed. The pups are matched perfectly and "all" the coil split settings are surprisingly good. Can't believe the quack this thing can get, then go full on chug.
That's the darkest I've heard a JB sound. I will say I wish esp would do more with their t shape. Everything they do is so good but they have so few TE models.
Can 100% confirm this guitar kicks ass, I bought one in "turquoise" back in late June. I did end up swapping out the pickups for a Fishman Modern set with nickel covers. I do find it odd that yours is made in Indonesia, and so do the ones on Sweetwater. Mine was made in Korea, so they must have changed factories for this line at some point after the initial release.
I 100% agree with you on the pickups. Ive dreamed of owning one of these guitars for years, so I'm willing to overlook the pickup for now til I get them swapped out. But they just didn't blow me away. Very bright, harsh, and brittle with my Marshall 2555X and JCM2000.
Hey Hunter, have you tried the Duncan 'Nazgul/Sentient' pickup set yet? I'm pretty sure, you'll like 'em. Voicing is more on the classic side, a hotter, more aggressive tone with more definition than the 'JB', 'Jazz' or '59' with MUCH MORE output and less dynamic range. Especially the low end is very focused and punchy. Perfect for metal chugging. I've upgraded my Charvel Joe Duplantier with these. Sounds absolutely killer!
Thats a sick looking guitar! LTD's have always been a great bang for you buck. I like Jacksons, Ibanez, LTD, and Epiphones for my big company bang for $$$. Not to mention I love Jackson/Ibanez necks! Great review Hunter! Have a great day man!
Such a beauty, I'd love to get the trem version someday. Also as a former owner of a korean LTD EC1000 and current owner of 2 ESPs I'm glad to see that the quality is great here, I've heard some not so good things about the new Indonesian 1000 series and I'm still on the fence about that move. Also not really convinced by the tone here, I've got an alder bodied Jackson DK2 and the JB rips in it but here, I don't know if it's because the amp, the settings, or the mahogany/24.75" construction but it sounds kinda muddy to my ears.
Starting to amass a hell of an amp collection. The 6505+, mesa dual rec, Engl savage 120, and the h&k triamp. And the marshall dsl. I mean there's really no slouches in your collections. I love the savage. Before I found out about the Dover Da50 I was gonna get the savage.
I noticed your guitar is made in Indonesia. I bought the eclipse 87 fr a few months back and it is made in Korea. Any idea why some are made in Indonesia and some Korea?
I totally get your x-factor idea. I just recently bought an LTD EC-1000 Duncan, my first ESP/LTD. And while the fit and finish and sounds are great, it just doesn’t feel alive in my hands. Just feels kinda lifeless
The nut is my only issue with my ec1000fm fluence- my first ltd (400at) came with the earvana compensated nut and wasn't nearly as expensive, it had the tone-pros and Seymour Duncans so not like the hardware was much cheaper
@@christopherlrasor Yea sweetwater. The third time I purchased it, I specifically asked my "sales rep" to make sure I get a good one. He said he talked to the flunky who inspects guitars and said it was perfect.....still came with issues. I like LTD guitars but I def wouldnt buy one without checking it out myself. I dont even deal with sweetwater anymore. It takes them a week to get a pack of strings out to me. zZounds pretty much overnights everything...or amazon if you have prime. Hope you get a good one man!!
The Duncan JB, although a good pickup, is not my cup of tea. I'm a DiMarzio guy anyways. I'd pop a Super 3/Super 2 set into that ax and it would be perfect. I also think, if you want to stay with Duncans, a Nazgul/Sentient set would be great. The Naz is not overly bright. It's a very crunchy ceramic pup but it's still easier to manage than a JB with all that brightness and treble.
Soon as the demo track started I went "Holy shit, that's heavy!" Then i see it's a JB like my EC-1000 going into my favorite metal amp. Nicely done sir.
Don´t get me wrong I love my LTD H-1007 Deluxe BUT. When I got it the frets weren´t polished and bends, vibrato etc. sounded scratchy if this makes sense. Also on the fretboard were some metal leftovers from the leveling process. That´s something I wouldn´t expect on a 1000€ guitar. Still nothing that can´t be solved by cleaning and the fret issue solved itself over time as expected.
Good golly.. that demo song was good. I think they missed the mark on the headstock.. personally dont care for that LTD headstock and I know they have a more "tele" looking reverse headstock that would have been awesome on this. (also part of the group who commented before I finished watching.... shame on me)

Bump that to 69% and you got my attention
So the phoenix next?
Guy who owns esp and schecter: "i'm playing both sides so I come out on top"
I have the Mirage 87 and the Phoenix in black cherry. Hunter, you absolutely need to demo the Phoenix.
Cr1tikal voice: Yeah baby this is the moment I've been waitin' for! this is what it's all about!
God the 87 Eclipse looks so damn good...
Just Izzy Stradlin's picture was enough 🔥🔥

Killer color. Retro modern combos like this are often awesome!
Not 100% sold on that headstock, but I'm sure I could learn to love it
Its better reversed. See KH-202.
Yeah honestly LTD and the old Charvels really turned me off. Once Charvel just took the Fender shape I was all in
I learned to really love that drop style from my EX Ltd
That’s how I feel at the end when I play my LTDs the smoothest metal guitars out there, I recommend the painted matching necks
Love the headstock, but the body shape...I dunno
About damn time, been a hot minute since your last video. At least the demo track slaps
Also looking forward to your massive Chad unbox-a-thon 👀👀
Hahaha it’s taking me forever to unbox everything
At least you got arooooound, at least 12 to unbox? I haven't even gotten my custom from 10s yet 😂😂

Ooof Hunter. As soon as your track started i just just couldn't help it! I had to start headbanging! Nice riffage man!
Can we all just stop and recognize how fucking great Hunters Demos always sound?!? Hunter you should totally make a compilation of all your demo songs..id rock the shit out of it 🤘🤘🤘
The bass on the demo track sounds super sick. Awesome demo track in general.
Hehehe...... thanks 😁

one of the best in recent memory!
That's the darkest I've heard a JB sound. I will say I wish esp would do more with their t shape. Everything they do is so good but they have so few TE models.
I know the original was 24.75 scale length but I’m convinced it would sell more with a 25.5 scale
It's funny, b/c I just bought a lefty one because it was 24.75"-
Like a Les Paul with a Tele body... 🤘🏻👽 rock!
Thats a sick ass riff dude! I see some good progression there!
Can 100% confirm this guitar kicks ass, I bought one in "turquoise" back in late June. I did end up swapping out the pickups for a Fishman Modern set with nickel covers. The best solid body guitar is a slightly updated telecaster, a design from the 50s.... Love it

I was able to accept the headstock for what it was by the time the vid was over. Can honestly say that I love everything g about this guitar
Got mine a couple of months ago with the floyd rose. Now I play it more than my PRS custom 24.
All I could think of when hearing the first few chugs in the beginning of the demo was the chug filled intro to Megitsune by BabyMetal
I uh.... kind really like it🤷🏻♂️ black, white, maybe even the sea foam.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Never heard a "too dynamic" complaint before LMAO
Next on my list. Except it'll be the Alpine White version. Not a big fan of tele style bodies, but I like this ESP. Love the feel of ESP necks.
I'm a big fan of the demo song. I also really hope ESP/LTD continue on this trend of releasing models from their past.
Such a beauty, I'd love to get the trem version someday. What tunning are u using on this one? You think could be used for down tuned stuff (i.e Drop A#)?
Haven't tried it yet, but I've been planning on sending mine to my tech to set up in B/drop A. I hope it works out.
I feel the same way about Schecters. I can't put my finger on why I didn't like it. I do love my LTD KH Demonology though!
I gotta say, I fricken love that headstock on this guitar sooo much
I believe that Scott Ian also played an '87 Eclipse back in the day
Didn’t know this 👌
Silly question maybe...its a tele shape...does it twang like a tele? Coil split?
That's a good looking Tele style guitar, very unique color too!
Love this guitar! Maybe missing ABR? Very nice, many thanks, great show.
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🦑
The track was a Banger 🌋
Now That's a T-style Guitar I'd love to own!
I noticed your guitar is made in Indonesia. I bought the eclipse 87 fr a few months back and it is made in Korea. Any idea why some are made in Indonesia and some Korea?
Huge Erra snowblood vibes from the intro of the song
Definitely one of the best dirty tones you’ve demo’d in a while! Gotta be the ENGL though, because I agree with you on the JB... not for me either.
Killer video! That demo at that beginning is 💵
I totally get your x-factor idea. I just recently bought an LTD EC-1000 Duncan, my first ESP/LTD. And while the fit and finish and sounds are great, it just doesn’t feel alive in my hands. Just feels kinda lifeless
That color rules. I will buy this one just for the color alone.
Joel Duplantier and Jim Root like this video. Probably. 😎😅🎸
Also, that M-1 has some serious Page Hamilton vibes. That guitar is quite unsung.
The nut is my only issue with my ec1000fm fluence- my first ltd (400at) came with the earvana compensated nut and wasn't nearly as expensive, it had the tone-pros and Seymour Duncans so not like the hardware was much cheaper
F yeah, mine is showing up tomorrow. Black w FR 🤘
I just picked up a lefty Snakebyte, killer guitar.
how are these? where they made also?
I have the white one…love it.
that riff is stuck in my head, thenks
I have a ltd tele,and it's solid,I feel ltd don't get enough praise,love your reviews man!
You have the absolute best demos!
I really digged the track on this video
Maybe i missed it in the clip. But is that stainless steel fret?
Great guitar. How is this against the Harley Benton Fusion t hh?
Ltds qc seems to be lacking these days. Ive bought and returned 3 of the pearl pink mirages. Finish issues mostly. Cracks at the heel joint....done!
@@christopherlrasor Yea sweetwater. The third time I purchased it, I specifically asked my "sales rep" to make sure I get a good one. That song should be a contender to replace the current intro song. Great composition! 🤘🏻
Damn, the riffs were solid in here
Ltd just has quality product year round, them them!!!👍
if u like this check the AA-600 Alan Ashby sig, it's basically this crossed with the Black Metal line.
I don't think they will have polished fretboards like that. I've only seen that on the E2's and ESP's never on a LTD unfortunately.
Yep. They don't come polished like that
Wow that demo track 🤘🤘
The demo track is sick.
this demo song ruled
Why don't you have 100k + subscribers? You would deserve it.
yo that first riff boinked me, v nice
The Duncan JB, although a good pickup, is not my cup of tea. I'm a DiMarzio guy anyways. I'd pop a Super 3/Super 2 set into that ax and it would be perfect. You should try dean guitars, especially the NashVegas. One of my favorite guitars ever.
Demo slaps! Sooooooo gooooood!
Hey man are you gonna review the Epiphone prophecy ? I basically only wait for your demo to buy one :D
Bro that song is awesome!!! Damn!!!
That engl sounds like what I imagine Tom Waits would sound like if he were an amp
Ok hear me out: this guitar...but direct mounted Fishmans
Hello Hunter! I just bought the 2020 LP Prophecy. Thought you might be interested by my review. ;)
Looks like a joy to play!
Soon as the demo track started I went "Holy shit, that's heavy!"
Then i see it's a JB like my EC-1000 going into my favorite metal amp. Nicely done sir.

My h1007 didnt have those issues but mine was made in 2k11. I really wish it came with stainless frets but i bought it for $600 so i cant complain
Looks like there are MII and MIK versions. Thomann got them from Korea.
daaaaaaaaaaamn that riff is brutal
I call that color "Hospital Green"
Schecter and ESP are run separately in America, not so much in Japan. Everyone in Japan knows ESP owns Schecter
What tuning?!
Izzy was the first thing that came to mind
I am a music man fanboy but maybe someday I’ll invest in an ESP E-ii
The only thing I don't like is the TOM Bridge and Tail-Piece. Then it would be perfect for tuning low like Architects.
THAT SEAFOAM THO
Loved the vid as always, prefer a more modern Eclipse....
All about the LP SiNgLe CuT sTyLe...
Check out the new SN1000 with SS frets! I love mine.
This was a Savage Review!
Now this is an guitar i can own.
I'm gonna go ahead and get triggered by a T shape guitar with a pointy headstock. BRB.
Hahaha
I mean, I love the headstock shape but for something that claims to be a single cut that’s actually a T-style? Alright then, LTD...
@@hellfirebloodcrossproducti4394 I mean. If you want to get technical, a T style is a single cut body.
@@sixsix8six that is very true, I just associate the term with more of the LP-style shape.
Charvel model 7🤘
Notta weird about it :) just classic esp vibe
You should do the synyster gates custom guitar review

Do the M-1!!!
