I agree that the image is not great, but given the low cost, small size and what it can do, it's still an amazing gadget.

Already have bought three of these. The first one had quite good quality video, the motion detection and night vision functioning. Whereas the other two have strange zoomed in video of bad quality, and the motion detection not functioning + one of them had strange background sounds during recording. It's just game of luck, whether you can buy a good one, and more likely that the motion detection will not work properly.
after the first detection it records 5 minutes but then doesnt keep up with detection mode. it just turns off. is there a way to make it always active?

@@deedeewalker5556 GB means gigabyte. You either need to connect the camera directly to your computer or take the SD card and put it into a phone. I do suggest familiarizing yourself with technology before you purchase items.
Press the power button until the blue light comes on, then press and hold the power button again for about 2 seconds, the light will flash red and blue. Now press and hold the mode button and release after 3 seconds, the lights will flash again and then dissapear. This is now in Night vision with motion activated.... If you want to test it, leave it for a minute, then put your hand in front of the camera and the blue light should blink to show it detected motion and starts recording...
motion detection only works if the camera has a clear view of the moving lens. If the moving lens / person is behind a clear glass / display case, the camera does not detect movement.

Is a sd card a must even wen plugged into pc(laptop)? I have mine plugge in my pc right now to charge it, i just opened it. it does no functions AT ALL whlie plugged in my pc, and the red led is flashing but when i click on the button with the "m" nothing happens " and the what i believe to be "pwoer" nothing happens, Did i purchase one that "already" has to be returned?
720p motion detection records only one 5 minute file. Exactly 5 minutes, never records a second file. How do I set it so it records files each time when triggered by motion?

Mine works only for a few seconds (about 10 to 40) and stops. What is the issue ? I charge the battery at each new attempt... I tried formating the card in NTFS it did not work at all. Then I formated it again in FAT32, it works again but only for about 10-40 seconds then it stops. I tried every sort of recording. I know the manual by heart... It works for taking pictures. For video only 720p work, never 1080 never motion detection and never more than about 40 seconds... ? I tested 2 different 32 go TF cards tested all OK... ??

I bought a couple of these cameras to play with - I had ideas of setting one up as a door viewer for my more-or-less chair-bound mate, using a cheap eBay 7" monitor. Although all the videos I've seen about these cameras show a mini USB - RCA lead, none of mine came with one and the mini USB port isn't in common use for me to find one easily. When I click the mode button from the solid blue button, it doesn't blink show red and blue, only red. The only way I can get the lights to do anything like blink is to hold the mode button for like 5 seconds and then the red solid light flashes blue like 3 or 4 times and that's it. Anyone had issues like this?

my motion detection is kinda funky. I was able to work it twice only and the rest of the time i can't. When I hit the mode button I wait for the lights to start blinking. After it finishes blinking , I see it blink again which means its filming. Hi. I'm setting it to the motion detection mode and leave it to record stuff. When I pick it up later and press Mode button nothing happens. It looks like the camera has turned itself off. Trying to use the camera to catch overnight wildlife. Set up 720 video/motion sensor/infrared, but no footage. What am i doing wrong? I know we've had "visitors", cos food has gone.
Mine seems to be broken, or maybe the model you tested is no lnger being manufactured?! When I turne it on it is blue, when I press M once it gets RED - not red/blue as you have in video. And when I press and hold M - nothing happens and it keeps being red! I found this is the photo mode and pressing off/on takes photos. Actually pressing M only seems to switch between red and blue modes - 720p recording and photos. When I switch from red and blue a few times and it seems I can hold M and it DOES something - blinks 3 times red (not red/blue). I assume this is the motion detection mode? So I leave it for 2 minutes, but when I want to end it by pressing M - nothing happens and LED stays off. Seems like it is actually powered off. When I connect it to a PC, there is no new video! I found out that in this mode with LED off it is actually FHD mode! When I am in it and press switch key it blinks 3 times red/blue and records FHD video. Pressing switch key blinks red/blue again and stops the video. So there just seems to be no motion detection on my camera at all!

Press the power button for about a second and let go, a blue light should appear, then press the mode button once, to start recording press the on button and release, then do the same again to stop recording...
@@domino2278 the motion works, but just one at the time after setting, it needs to be reset again for next motion, this is just a toy, but for price it's good to have it, one day could be useful if the battery is plugged to charger.
The battery with which this camera is equipped "dies" very quickly. After 3 months it doesn't work anymore, or maybe it only works for 5 minutes. I bought 3 SQ11 cameras and encountered this problem in all 3. Motion detection does not work behind a display case and. . . the battery does not last more than 2-3 months.
Plug it into a PC or Mac and press the On button, you should see it appear as a new drive. Alternatively, take the SD card out and put it into an SD card reader thats connected to your PC or MAC

How to set motion and night vision together please

It will record a second avi file and one for every other motion it detects...

Not really, if you start it in motion detection, the battery will last you about an hour as the night time LED's zap the battery

I believe it will record for 5 minutes. And yes, you can hook up a mobile phone charger to it and charge it while recording.
5 minute then off til further motion detected then five minute clips each time.

They should have a seperate button for motion cuz modes are more for like display options like resolution.

The buttons are on the top, so long as these are on top, your using it the right way round...

I don't recommend, the battery just Las 10 minutes after a full charge :/ and the optional modes for night vision, and motion don't work

@@domino2278 the motion works, but just one at the time after setting, it needs to be reset again for next motion, this is just a toy, but for price it's good to have it, one day could be useful if the battery is plugged to charger.

you can't, it's either webcam/live view or record.
The battery with which this camera is equipped "dies" very quickly.
After 3 months it doesn't work anymore, or maybe it only works for 5 minutes.
I bought 3 SQ11 cameras and encountered this problem in all 3.
Motion detection does not work behind a display case and. . . the battery does not last more than 2-3 months.
Can this hook up to a tv ?
How do you get the video off the SD card
Plug it into a PC or Mac and press the On button, you should see it appear as a new drive. Alternatively, take the SD card out and put it into an SD card reader thats connected to your PC or MAC
