- The grass around our hay barn is getting out of control. Brought in the 1973 International Harvester Cub Cadet 149 to knock it down. Video shows it all!
We are a small family farm in the western mountains of Virginia. Subscribe for more farming and Cub Cadet videos - Thanks for watching!
These old Cub Cadets just never want to give up. I really want to get one someday.
I really enjoyed your video. Mine is 122, 102,122 and 1250. J.D.314 and 316. Also an lp 300,f30 and f12 on steel.
Thanks!
My wife and I will be needing a mower in a year or so, we talked about looking at a Cub Cadet. We were kind of thinking getting one that has a steering wheel, but is also a zero turn. Anyways, I like that old 149 Cub Cadet, it is really quiet and looks like it's strong cutting that tall grass. Enjoyed watching, thanks and have a nice Sunday!
Thx!
That tractor must have been pretty high end back in its day. Still going strong.
To us, they were expensive. I remember seeing one new at a guys farm and thinking those yellow fenders looked like gold. We had a lowly Sears Suburban….
You cant beat those old Kohler engines!
That Cub Cadet ate the grass like a champ. My whole lawn looks like that right now and my John Deere zero turn bogs down and tries to stall! They were sure made different then.
Thanks!
Have you checked throttle linkage? Perhaps audio on the vid is deceiving but I was thinking you should be able to get ever slightly more rpms? Noticed throttle lever was full up. Thanks. Nice tractor.
I think the rpm’s could be cranked up a bit too - it’s on my list…
Ive got the chance to possibly get of these machines non running. No deck. For under $100. Ive been tossing the idea of getting it for a while. Your videos are making me edge towards getting it and building it into a little work horse.
Might make a good project...👍
