There's nothing like a classic Root Beer Float on a hot summer day! They are so simple to make and the perfect best summer dessert. Grab creamy vanilla ice cream, your favorite root beer, whipped cream and the cherry for on top. That's it. You have the perfect sweet treat to cool off with.
    Ingredients
2 scoops vanilla ice cream about 1 c.
    8 ounces root beer
    Whipped Cream
    Maraschino cherry
    Instructions
Freeze your glasses prior to use for an extra frosty treat. We recommend using a tall glass, like a float glass or beer stein.
Remove glasses from the freezer. Add the ice cream to the glass and then slowly pour root beer into the glass. Try to pour the root beer at an angle up against the glass to reduce fizz and risk of overflow. If there is a lot of fizz let it recede and then add more root beer to the glass.
Top with whipped cream and cherry! Serve with straws and spoons.
Don’t pour the root beer too fast: The best way to add the soda is slowly. Even better? Tilt the glass and pour so it runs down the inside of the glass. This prevents too much foam from building up.
Do add a long spoon and straw: Okay, this is optional, but a long-handled serving spoon makes it easy to scoop the ice cream. A paper straw just makes it easy to drink!

well the first condition is to find this mysterious "root beer"
which I have never seen nor is quite sure what even is. But I am guessing it is some kind of sweet beer. Would a regular beer do?

It's an American soda if you are being serious about not knowing what it is. It's nonalcoholic and has a very polarizing taste as it is made from sassafras root bark and vanilla. It tastes nothing like a beer, so I really wouldn't recommend trying to substitute one. It also has a cousin called birch beer, which is another soda that is nonalcoholic.

@@eloquentsloth6080 I was thinking it was something akin to "hvidtøl" (white beer), which is a traditional beer from my country. It have been mostly replaced by Bavarian beers, that have a fresh and slightly bitter taste compared to the very sweet hvidtøl. Hvidtøl have a very low alchohol percentage, around 1,7% which is why we give it to babies and children. It is heavily associated with yuletide
