No music hit its peak 1966-1980 but yeah the 80s were pretty good. It has devolved considerably since. But what were the millennials supposed to do? Music is hugely important culturally speaking. How were they going to top the Beatles, the Stones, Aerosmith? The list goes on and on. Advancement had come to an end as perfection was reached. Same thing happened to classical. The only place for it to go was down. And as we are all painfully aware it went down hard. I just realized that when I saw this video as a kid, I did not understand what was going on. I didn't understand it until watching it again as an adult just now.
@@perfectsplit5515 You are not alone. I didn't understand it when I first saw it either. I only knew I liked the music. It does play like a mini movie and Glenn and the others were good!
Frey was the greatest, killer lyrics & world-weary soul...he lives on...
@@maryannbroadus880 You can say that again!
The 80's music was the best
Ratt, Dokken, Tesla, Queensryche, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Firehouse, Y&T. That was real music.
You'd think that diversification provided by the internet would bring it back and maybe it has but I'm too goddamn lazy to look it up..
Wow a whole 2 paragraph that say absolutely nothing....I blame society because I live in Oregon and we're required to ingest enormous quantities of pot here. Apologies for wasting your time, straining your eyes or otherwise inconveniencing you.
MTV NEEDS TO COME BACK . THE VIDEOS WERE SO GOOD
They sold themselves to Rob, it’s too late for that 😂
Just videos ONLY. Yes
I just love how so many videos back in the day were like mini movies that had a great storyline! Never be another era like that again..
Glenn was such a badass in this video. I think he could've had a great acting career if he had wanted to pursue it.
I remember the Miami Vice episode he was in (one of the best, of a very mixed bunch). He was great in it.
I was in my early 20’s and Miami Vice was the best show on tv
Brings me back to Miami Vice Days! Every Friday at 10pm!! LOL Back then, 1 tv when family watched tv together!!!!
You be cool for 20 hours and I’ll pay you 20 grand. Love that line!
At 5:30 minutes, it is the best video that was also a movie!
Hello Charlie.... How are you doing?
Rest in peace Glenn. You were an amazing singer, songwriter, and guitar player. You work with the Eagles and solo will never be forgotten. After all this time it's still hard to believe you're gone.
Well im gonna keep this one track alive. Also SAY NO TO DRUGS.
I've lived long because l know to keep away from this terrible stuff.

He is missed... such talent... RIP Glenn....
I am so darn old that I remember seeing this on TV, a FAT TV, in the 80's
It has taken all this time to accept that I live in a world without Glenn.
He is still all around me from the very first Eagles song I heard- Take It Easy.
I have been going back and listening to Eagles songs.
Intentionally to pick out Glenn's vocals and piano and guitar.
It hurts when I discover something new.
I miss you, brother.
You did real real good.
Glenn Frey was WAY HOTTER Looking in his bluejeans back in the 70s and his music with the Eagles was the BEST
What the f*** is wrong with you? Glenn Frey was always good looking
I still blast this in my car in 2021 and I don't frankly give a damn if the younger generation doesn't recognize it, like it or understand it. We're Gen-X and proud of it!
Oh yeah, you just rock.I love it and miss the 80's so much.
@@deborahhewitt6101 everyone had fun in the 80s . Look at the music and movies .
Hell yea!
@victor carbo
You got taste like myself and who gives a CRAP what the younger generation think.
I’m a boomer and I love it!
Love this song, but the video so real. I, still listen to it. Wow, miss the 80s. ❤❤❤😮😊😊
RIP Glenn Frey your awesome talent will be missed.
True, stuff. Some people was really there,
Man, I miss Miami Vice, Glen Frey & the 80's!!! Actually, I just started watching Miami Vice again, starting from the very beginning pilot😁!!!
Great time to be young! Miami Vice is still one of the best shows in TV history!!!
Still lovin the Smugglers BLUES in 2019!!! 😎😎😎😎

YEP Yep Aug.2020
2021 too!
Got it on 45 vinyl
LOL. Watching from Bogota. I was a kid when I loved Miami Vice and will watch it today- May you all be blessed and not the violent life.
R.I.P. Glen, I know this song was not an Eagles song, but, that was your band. Your solo career was awesome and so is this song. Remember when an artist used to put his heart into his work?
"MTV- video music Award" Continue your rest in SHALOM!! Mr. FREY-🌄...
This was back when music videos rivaled motion pictures and had actual known actors in them.
Listening to this always makes me think of it as the sequel to Life In The Fast Lane, also written by Glenn.
you are right
good thought!
One of my favorite rock tunes ever. Not only does it tell a story, but it's one of those pieces you can NOT sit still to if you have any blood left---that screaming guitar in the background, and Frey's closing whoop...
Sorry it went down like this ,but someone had to loose.
Yyyyyaaaaaaaooooowwwww!
