My older brother got his Ph.D. in textile technology at Clemson! Your big finish of Black Vintage Sampler is glorious!!! So many beautiful WIPs! Praying for quick healing for your toe! Keep your foot up and enjoy the Olympics! What a neat idea to make a needle minder out of a shell. I’ll have to “go down the shore” as they say in NJ. Still hard for me to say that! Hi Laura! Congrats on a beautiful finish! It looks fantastic! In terms of using sulky and DMC in the same piece, I stitched Long Dog’s Pandemic on 18 count Aida with two strands of silk as my main color, and two strands of DMC for one accent, and one strand of Sulky for another accent and it looks really good.
Love the finish since you started working on it became a wish list and even more so pretty. Stephanie lives the next town over so I go on Lindy stitches first before 123 stitch there is no LNS out here. The shell patterns are so pretty. Hope you have speedy healing.

I had already thought about buying 1 or 3 of those pieces in the Lindy Stitches news letter so we are on the same page. 😊 I’m sorry to hear about your toe fracture. You are right to follow instructions carefully in the beginning. You will heal much faster. I have had 3 foot bone fractures and had to wear a boot for 6-8 weeks for each fracture. Annoying but effective. Did the measuring cup break? LOL Have a good week watching Olympics and stitching.

Laura, I hurt my toe this Friday. Thankfully just a sprain, but man it smarts! I'm glad that the injury wasn't worse; those glass kitchen items are HEAVY!! I hope kitty feels better soon and starts to come out of his shell. My kitty had the sneezy sickness when we got him from the shelter as well, but after some antibiotics and extra rest he healed up.
Hope your toe is feeling better. I’m going to talk to Meg this weekend and see how the two cats are getting on together.

I vote no arms -- snowman are adorbs as they are. I also vote just the dragon, she makes enough impact on their own due to the awesome colour choices in your fabric and floss. YEAH to the finish although I will miss seeing it.

You asked about using sulky one strand in a project with 2 strands of dmc and I have done it on 14 CT and 18 CT. Try it and see what you think.
So sorry to hear about your toe. I am glad it doesn't sound to major. Here is to a speedy recovery. I guess you need to tell Moe you have to stich due to your toe being out of commission 😊
August is my birthday month. Shell is fun to find at the beach. I hope to go to the beach for my birthday. I am glad you get to see your kids. I saw mine more before the economy turned for the worse. They cannot afford to travel so far and we can only help so much. It stinks but such is life atleast we talk on phone a lot.

A great video as usual. I love shell patterns. I’m currently working on the Celtic dragon. I did a modified border and just the dragon in the middle. I’m using dying for cross stitch ruby floss for the dragon. Just have the bottom of tail done

Shell. I agree with your thoughts on Robin Pickens. Congratulations on the Black Sampler finish! It looks spectacular! I can sympathize with your injury. I dropped an economy size new bottle of shampoo on my foot in the shower. I was bruised and swollen for weeks!

I got the list for the Olympics Stitching...didn't do anythng the first two days but was able to stitch on Sunday while watching your flosstube. I don't have a love of WIPs and it's gonna be hard for me to come up with some projects to match the prompts. But I can get some of them worked on at least.

I did Yellow Submarine on Mystic Blue by Picture this Plus (I think). It was closer to the Beatles album cover blue than the other fabrics and the variegation looks like water. I was really happy with it.
Congrats on your finish. I love it on the bright blue fabric. I am like you. Do I need more patterns? No, but I’m going to get a few anyway. I’m on a lighthouse kick right now and have Cottage Garden Samplings’ in my cart. Robin Pickens designs are fantastic but the shells haven’t made it into my cart - yet.

For 18 ct., I use one strand DMC. Two strands are too bulky for me, but I’ve also used 1 strand sulky on the same piece that I use 1 strand DMC. It seemed to be the same look wise.
Your big finish is awesome! I don’t think you will scrap book that one. I have never mixed dmc and sulky…not because of coverage but because of the texture difference…I would want to plan how the colours were juxtaposed because dmc lies flat and Sulky is a round thread and sits a bit higher for me. I will play and get back to you. I would definitely stitch Robin Pickens with you.🦉🪡🧵🔆
