Autumn still life from owl forest embroidery is ticking all my boxes, I love the colours of Autumn, orange, russet, tans, reds all just make me so happy, Jan Hicks designs are always so beautiful and this one is no exception, looking forward to following your progress, I use lots of pins especially to pin my quilt blocks up on my design board which is a big sheet of polystyrene covered with batting.
Glad to hear you are doing better and healing, my wife loves autumn and pumpkins so I stitch a lot of pieces for her so she can decorate her kitchen hutch, she loves oranges and yellows, Pins
Keeper of the pins has been on my wish list for some time, I can’t remember who I watched stitching from it, love all the projects, and I will looking out for that magazine flip through, hopefully I can read it online via the library.
Hi Laura! Beautiful projects and progress! Pretty blue fabric and your shirt is pretty shades of blue. I hope you are getting some sleep now. I knew that feeling, too. I can't wait for I Spy. I see a Rofo billboard on this side of our county and it says something like I Spy World Famous Chicken. I said they must have been watching Laura to play I Spy....LOL!!!! Enjoy your visit with your in-laws! Happy Stitching!
Good morning Laura, That green fabric for your purple house just makes me smile, I did check it out when you first showed it, but shipping was too costly so I will just have to admire yours from a distance, Pins please.
Great video. Diamond painting is fun and relaxing. Was my passion prior to cross stitching but I have brought it back. I am starting small. Made some bookmarks and now making sun catchers. I love your ugly sweater ornaments. I hope to see more 😊. pins is a cute book.
Hello Laura, Hope you are having a good week so far, I loved seeing the stitching behind you, and you purple house is stunning on the that bright green fabric, I think I seen Audrey @stitchy witch 42 stitch that pattern on the same fabric, with my arthritis I do suffer with pins and needles in my hands , I cannot stitch for long periods at a time.
Sending you best wishes after today’s game. It was very tense in our Arsenal household until closer to the end. It’s going to be a long season! -Stephanie
Hi Laura, Greetings from Ireland, love your Ireland piece, I am dabbing my toe into clothes making, I am trying to making hubby a shirt, so today I was putting the sleeves in which takes lots lots of pins, it’s like putting a square peg in a round hole, at least with stitching I half know what I’m doing.
Ahhh, I’ve had such a lovely afternoon catching up with your latest 2 vids whilst working on Autumn In The City! It’s been bliss! I have the same issue with Mark Up XP re symbols, I just ignore that bit and write it on my thread holders with a (usually very bad) drawing of the symbol! I swear by Mark Up now that my eyes are showing their age, I’d struggle with a paper pattern now so everything gets scanned in and I just try to make it work as best I can. Hope you’re having a nice time with the outlaws!
Hi Laura, I am sad the summer is ending soon too although I’m more of an Autumn girl, loved seeing your purple house again on the fabulous lime green fabric, in the winter I tend to do more sewing and quilting where I use lots and lots of pins, rather than stitching.
I love how the Haunted Library is coming along. I've seen the Haunted Gala (I think that's what it's called) and it would be perfect next to the Library....GOod call, Laura. I envy you your cooler weather temps...ours are still in the 90's and high humidity! Great news about your foot! You'll be walking on the sand in no time!
Hello! Last week you mentioned that your summer quaker inner boarder wasn’t matching up. I stitched that page of the pattern this weekend and I may know where you could be off. The right side of the inner boarder has 3 stitches between the motifs just above the coral fish. The rest have only 2 stitches. I hope this helps and solves your problem. I know I just want to stick pins in my projects that aren’t matching up and walk away for awhile. Have a great week and thank you for sharing your stitching.
I totally agree with your choice of the orange I think the called for is too bright compared to the other colours, I love to see you Ireland piece, 🍀 I am in two minds about adding it to my wish list, there seems to be a lot of stitching in it, I have bought my very first set of Putini punting pins for my Autumn pieces.
Another great video. Thank you for sharing your stitching and life with us. I like the red bakers twine with ugly christmas sweater diamond art. Hope you finally got some sleep! Love your tea mug, the beach is my happy place.
Had a really long comment and it disappeared, must have hit cancel, darn, darn, darn. In a nut shell I also chose diamond painting ornaments for gifts but I'm doing mugs. I do ornaments each year for various people and if I have extra I carry them with me and if I happen to be at an appointment I put one on their tree hoping to give someone a smile when it's found. Enjoy the visit with your family.
You made me chuckle...with you wearing ugly sweaters. Before I retired I was an activity director for 38 years in nursing homes. For an activity right before Christmas my staff would dress up in lol ugly sweaters and our residents would join in. THEY LOVED IT. My daughter was younger and hated them...thought I looked like an idiot😅. Last year, she asked me if she could borrow some of those sweaters😅 she wanted to wear them for her third grade class! Full circle moment.
Hi Laura! Great catching up with you. I have a hard time with sleep when I'm on my own as well. If you're interested, there is another Delaware flosstuber in the northern part of the state. Her name is Kathleen and her channel is Snickerdoodle Stitch. I think you'd enjoy her. Have a great week!
Lovely to see you again Laura - I love watching you as I stitch since you usually show up on Saturday in Australia and that's usually when I can get the longest time to sit and stitch. The Keeper of the Pins pattern is cute - have been eyeing it off but not easy to get in Australia.
Hi Laura, I love Summer too and I’m not looking forward to the colder weather, I love seeing your stitching, as a tailor during my working life I used an awful lot of pins, and it is amazing where you find them after you came home.
Laura! I am finally feeling like I can catch up on flosstubes, and I have quite the backlog to go through. But as soon as I saw this pop up I said “oh my goodness yes-a great place to start!” 💕💕💕
I continue to be in awe of your ability to use colors and mix and match to fit you and your style! I’m such a rule follower that changing from what the designer called for was so foreign to me! I quickly started using different fabrics, but the floss has been daunting. But, I’ve started to collect Forbidden Fiber Co flosses in the hopes of switching out colors on some smalls…dip my toes in the water of changing things. I have a vignette of tomatoes and would love to add pins to the collection. Love your work and channel❤❤❤
I so enjoy visiting with you! I'm right in step with you on the ATC, still pondering and not yet stitching. I'm happy to hear that your toe is getting better, don't push too fast, and by the time most of us are putting on full-coverage shoes, you will be barefoot once again. So far, it's a beautiful beach week and I hope your in-laws are enjoying their visit and the change in scenery. Have a great week!
Love the ugly sweaters! If you leave them without paper on the back, could you then write the year on them? Otherwise, the backs look finished without anything. It would be fussy to cut paper or felt out. It's great stitching with you this evening!
It's always so great to catch up with you. Sorry for such long silence. Mel and I have had a bit of a rough month. As always, I love seeing your projects. Really loving how the lighthouse is turning out. I am always excited to hear about a fellow October birthday. I think I will join you in celebrating our birthdays (mine is Oct 7). I have the Festive Frosted Pumpkin Cottage I have been wanting to start, so what better time? Keep healing. You have been in our prayers for a quick recovery. -Michael Uplift Stitches.
I'd choose the raven. Only because it's on my list to stitch. I love that fabric and have added it to my wishlist. I wonder if Old Skully (pg 21) or Baba Yaga's Hut (pg52) would look good on it? Hmmmm... Glad your foot is improving.
Hey Laura what about attaching clothespins to the bulletin board? Just a thought. Love your projects so much!! I love pins - tomato pincushions are the best!!
Love listening to you at work or while stitching on Saturday morning. Love the spooky house cannot wait to see it finished. 🧵🪡 love the pins and the set.
I didn't know what to do with "E" once I finished Summer Quaker (Eel) and I somehow never thought of EYE 🤦🏽♀️ A couple of those pins patterns would make cute trading cards. Hope you get sleep & have fun with your in-laws!
Laura, hi from nw washington, clear across the country! We are having a cool and rainy weekend- 1/2 inch of rain and high of 56 today/Saturday! I heard you say you love stitching lighthouses - have you seen Stained Glass Lighthouse from stitches sew beautiful?! Lisa @lostinstitches has a start, and I'm starting it sept 5 for our wedding anniversary. My husband chose it for us! Because you don't have enough full coverage pieces already! 😂 take care, terri
Great to see you today Laura. Glad your toe is well on the mend. Here's to continued healing. Love your stitching as always. Have a great week with your in laws. Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
Oh Laura, I hope you will get your sleep back this week! I can’t imagine how I would function without my 8 hours 😅 Great news about the toe and you‘ll be barefoot again in no time. 😍 I‘m so happy the tips worked and you got your sweaters done - they are so cute! Happy Stitching and enjoy your next week ❤️
Loved your video and all your stitching updates. Well hopefully you sleep well with Mo home. My sister broke her big toe also and it took her awhile to heal and the pain stayed for quite sometime. I am glad you are doing so well. Be a good patient. Enjoy your week.
I'm always on pins and needles waiting for your videos on Fridays. I am so glad I found your flosstube. You're truly one of my favorites. Love your projects. Have a great time with your in laws.
I'm sorry you haven't been sleeping well. It was a bad week for sleep for me as well. Glad your toe is getting better. Diamond painting led me back to cross stitch after a many year break. I discovered diamond painting in the summer of 2020 and found You Tube videos about it. Rachel Rae is who I found and from there I found her flosstube, and started stitching again. I don't diamond paint that much because I'm to busy stitching. Love the pins. Take care.
Laura, I am glad to hear that you are healing but sorry you didn’t sleep well. Earlier on in our marriage (it’s been 47 years) my husband worked rotating shifts and so had 7 night shifts per month. I was always a bit nervous but ended up sleeping with a stuffed animal to help me relax. 😊😂. I have started the Comfort Lighthouse and have a sampler or 2 in mind for September. I hope you have a great week with your in-laws and can still manage some stitching once you get caught up on your sleep. 😴
Hi Laura Love all of your WIPS - they are very pretty. I don’t use Pattern Keeper or Mark Up XP. I don’t want to be looking at a Screen the whole time I am stitching. It’s bad for your eyes to be looking at a Screen all of the time. I can see the whole Page on a working paper copy and all I have to do is take my red gel ink pen and mark off my stitches. I like to look at the whole page on paper and if I want to skip around I can without having to move the paper. This is just me. I have been stitching like this since I was 13 years old and I am in my late 60’s. Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🧵🪡🧵❤️
I am currently in the middle of "Palace of the Winds" by Jan Hicks and it is a delight to stitch. I'm planning "Arabesque" for a new year start. Loved seeing all your projects while I stitch my ATC piece!
Have a fun time with your in-laws. I'm glad things are going well with your toe. I have two partial tears in my shoulder that I'm going to physical therapy for. The place I go to is awesome. I really like what they do there. I think you're right on the doing just the dragon. It's awesome by itself.
Hi Laura…thank you for the many mentions…I have people popping into my videos after watching your videos. Whenever E comes up in an acrostic I use Etsy and then there are so many projects I can choose from. I don’t wear shoes in my house…fingers crossed for continued physical improvement.🧵🪡😊

I'm obsessed with Mary Poppins. I can't stop stitch in her. I become monochromatic stitcher recently. Loving it too. I'm doing a green colour
The rotation of your beautiful SB pieces would be a great idea! You can never have too many “pins”.

I’m doing Diamond dots coasters for Christmas presents. Just finished a set of American eagles. Also doing ornaments.

In the magazine, I like page 54. I want to stitch that. Glad your toe is healing. See you next week.
you make me laugh, girlfriend. Of course I want to see how people are stitching their monocrhomatic! LOve your stitches!
Hi, I never miss your videos! Do you always use a 3 inch margin when stitching a pattern? Pittsburgh, PA
Pins for me please. Love your sweater and your stitching.
I'm with you about going barefoot. That's me I hate wearing shoes.
Laura are you going to the Salty Yarns retreat in October? Would love to meet and chat with you.
