Owed four 911s and a Boxster. Two of the 911s were GT3s, one with a manual. I now have an Aston Martin Vantage with a manual. The Porsches were great, but I'm very happy with my Aston, and it will be a keeper.
Amazing content. enjoyed this video a lot and helped me make my decision. i was debating between 911 and vantage and oddly, the reason you preferred the 911 is the reason im going for the vantage. 911 was too perfect and everything made too much sense. i enjoy the imperfection and rawness of the aston and you really showed that in your video. keep it up!
I’ve had 6 Porsches .. recently 991.1 and 991.2 GTS , swapped it for a new vantage .. it’s a different world . Comfort , style , exclusivity and that engine .. it’s a beast. You can tell the driver is American , not used to bends and always bitching about how firm the ride is .. it’s firm because in Europe we have fast twisty mountain roads .. your driving 50mph on a freeway for 200 miles .. maybe it’s the wrong car
I’ve also had 6 porsches… still one now but had this Vantage the first year of Covid, before Iswapped for a GT3 manual Agreed the suspension is stiff but that was not issue including my partner’s opinion. However the roadtire noise, that did bother me, but same level as a 997 GTS, which was disappointing. Although the interior of the Vantage is classy and well finished, the leather is amazing, yet some aspects did make my eyebrowns go down and think ‘at this price level?? Otherwise had a great time with this Vantage and did long trips through Germany, Austria, France, would recommend this over a 991 turbo if you like the positive attention ❤
Well, that was boring. No wonder your were negative about the car - I assume you live in the 3rd world where the roads are shit. A very uninformative and biased report - you cannot compare this car to 911s in general. I love the 911, and have had several, but my current model is a C4 and it is f***ing boring, which is why I'm switching to an Aston Vantage Roadster.
Id argue porsche is less about numbers and more about driving feel and driving pleasure. But i feel less so about their new cars. Only the GT division still retains that identity in my opinion
The reason it feels different to a Porsche is because its supposd to. Life would be boring if all cars felt the same, what this car offers is super car performance with an ability to carry some good luggage for long teips abroad. The suspension has been set up by Matt Becker, the set up wizard who has been working his magic at Lotus for years. I am in the market for a 2019-2020 Vantage. I agree, once boost has built up 2000 to around 5000 it provides full boost and it is a beast and can be frightening for the unaware. The engine is Mercedes however, the mapping is Aston Martin, the ZF gearbox is also the choice of AM to get a near 50/50 weight distribution but again with mapping by Aston. I wasnt jappy at them usong an outside parts peovider but in the end to meet stringent EU regulations it was easier and less costly to do this than develop their own engine given Aston are a small volume manufacturer. Nice reveiew though.
I’ve had 2 911s and currently have a Vantage. It all depends on your definition of “better”. At the end of the day, even my Turbo felt like an appliance, whereas driving the Aston is an event every time, and it is for me what you chaps call my “daily driver”. But. If I had to travel 250 miles in a hurry on a winter’s day, I’d want my Porsche back…… Horses for courses.
Yea I am aware that I am very biased lol. Having said that, I agree that the new 911s (starting from 991) have been very boring unless youre driving a GT car. I still much prefer the 996/997 or aircooled cars of the past.
@@FizzyMotors He is the quintessential symbol of macho, of course he's fictional, but there's a reason he was never portrayed in a Porsche, they are the greaser version of a sports car.
Am I crazy or you made this video in Bangkok? (may be you mentioned it but I was more watching than listening and it's the 1st video of your chanel that I watch) Edit : Ok, looking at the chanel details I could see you are in Thailand !
The 1st new gen vantage (2005?) was benchmarked (obviously) but actually created with the remit to take customers and potential customers away from Porsche's 911.
The interior tech is not up tp spec for a car with that price....I agree with your thoughts on the prior Vantage one of the best looking cars on the road ever....I like this too but not a masterpiece....as for the amg gt this shares the same engine....
Id rather have a higher end porsche like the targa gts or gt3 but i love the back of the aston. exterior is flawless. But interior wise newer porsche are so nice and correct if im wrong but the higher end models r faster, no?
Id argue the GT porsches’ 4.0L NA motor sound way better. I am not a fan of the farty V8 noises. Feels very synthetic and obnoxious. But if you compare it to the standard 3.0L turbo motors then yea I agree with you.
Horrible review. You don’t understand what an Aston is all about. Complaining about engine and road noise?!? The engine is magnificent. Go back and drive your Volkswagen Tiguan.
bro your videos are much much more premium than your Clickbait 🤍 you need to watch some youtube tutorials :) wish you never stop making amazing videos 😁
This is one of the most detailed review on the internet. Keep it up, I like this format.
Nice review...very detail..from a current owner. I have own a few Porsches myself. The Aston is a aggressive car. Enjoy it for what it is.

Glad u enjoyed it
For me this is one of the best looking cars ever made, I love it
and love how they chose the Mercedes engine which ticks the reliability worry

Wow you had 6 Porsches, you must be an expert…

Good video man, keep it up!
Appreciate it!
As a Vantage owner. Very good and accurate review overall…amazing car. Best bang for its buck in todays market

U bought the wrong 911
Exclusivity and Class that Porsche just falls short on if performance numbers alone are not all you buy a car for!

Does the car make you smile when you drive …if the answer is yes …..it’s done its job!
Don’t worry about the rest of it .
Lovely review, an Aston will never be a porsche, the tight feeling of the drive terrain is from the the torgue tube.
Wouldnt mind one of these. I rarely see any of these around
I would say go for DB11 if you can stretch a bit lol

Has James Bond ever driven a Porsche ? of course not, question answered.
You do know he is a fictional character right?
@@FizzyMotors He is the quintessential symbol of macho, of course he's fictional, but there's a reason he was never portrayed in a Porsche, they are the greaser version of a sports car.
@jlsc4125 nah its cuz he is british and he needs a british car
As a fellow owner of this same Aston Martin, I completely agree when you said “it’s so easy to drive like a dlck” lol
Loll
The DB12 is stunning!
What do you work as besides RUclips , I’d like to make enough to afford one 😂
Lol this isnt my car
Waiting for the next Alfa night drive vid

Feels like caressing young ladies... LOL
Give it a manual and the experience is next level Ferrari f430 manual level of enjoyment
At least you can drive fast on the freeway from BKK airport down to Patts - and pay the cops off if pulled over!
Well right of the start it certainly sounds better than the Porsche
Id argue the GT porsches’ 4.0L NA motor sound way better. I am not a fan of the farty V8 noises. Feels very synthetic and obnoxious.

What a lovely video
Great review
รอ gt4rsครับบ
Great review. I like the part where you said that car makes you drive like a dick. 😂😂
Horrible review. You don’t understand what an Aston is all about. Complaining about engine and road noise?!? The engine is magnificent. Go back and drive your Volkswagen Tiguan.
Ill stick to my 4RS thanks very much
Anything is better than a 911. Cookie cutter cars going on and on and on for decades now. Porsche has no ability change anything
My Gt3 is very cookie cutter
I bet its tasty
Bit twitchy if you can’t drive a rwd car
no
Dont get me wrong buf i would flatter like this anyone anytime all the time 😅😅
.
Plus... this flattery is just terrible xD😅
Well...😅 boring is what ive heard... well.... if i cant have a wife then i take this crappy car;>
