Intro of the mission: The sky darkens, battlecruisers show up everywhere. Horner: "They'll gonna throw everything at us that they got." Ten minutes later. Lowko: "I didn't expect battlecruisers to show up." #justlowkothings
It was painful to watch his "sneak attack." He completely left the production alone, so they just ended up rebuilding everything once the actual mission got going.
I know I didn't do it very well either the first time. That said, I always go for the base at 2 now, and then swing around to kill 3 before the time runs out
Octavio Gonzalez what people are saying is that he could have destroyed the production facilities as the Odin and the enemies would not rebuild the buildings aka you eliminate their much base or their bio base and not have to dels with mech or bio units when you got control of your own base
Please tell me this mission is reminiscent of the Infested Kerrigan sneak attack in Brood War when she betrayed everyone. You are supposed to go after high-value targets quickly.
"This is Donny Vermillion, live from the *former* UNN studios on Korhal. Breaking news today, somebody destroyed this studio with a huge combat walker stolen from our Army. Kate Lockwell is unavailable for comment, so this will have to do. On another news, we will be mailing the invoice for the repairs to some guy named Simon, on the distant Human Homeworld of Earth, because he apparently was in control of all this mess. Simon, if you're reading this, I hope a Zergling eats your lunch tomorrow. For the last time in a while, this was Donny Vermillion"
he could've destroy all the factories or starports to prevent fighting against siege tanks or banshees which are good against the odin, but he chose the weakest base to attack, and barely killed any unit producing structures. And to top it off, he overextends with the Odin and just loses it along with all his tanks and thors, probably spent like 5 minutes just rebuilding that lmao #justlowkothings
To be honest, I find it entertaining that he continually makes such huge mistakes and still somehow pulls a win out of his hat. Spending all his energy doing barrages to kill marines (literally 1-shot kills with splash) and then not having any when he runs into an actually large force, literally walks into the middle of everybody, and triggers them all at once. #justlowkothings is right.
watching waste all the Odins energy at the begining was SOOOOOO PAINFUL to watch that ability kill a command center in 1 barage shouldve saved it for the buildings
Don't worry, Donny. I know what will cheer you up: a padded cell, wool socks, and sixty kilograms of peanut butter. EDIT: For those of you struggling with the Blitzkrieg achievement, whether playing on Brutal _or_ Hard, here's a little tip: during the sneak attack, you'll want to ignore the eastern security outpost completely. Focus instead on the northeast first and then the northwest. The factories and starports have to come down, and maybe the command center at each post if time permits. Also, freeze-frame circa 14:48: when production facilities are that close to each other, Barrage should be able to take both out at once. Be wary of aerial units, though. Play it right, and you should have no attacks on your base from the north and west sides. The only attacks you'll have to deal with are any that manage to meet your units as they take the towers in counter-clockwise fashion. Mass Thors (potentially with siege tank and SCV support), are an ideal setup. Maybe a marine or two can be used for the sole purpose of standing on the objectives. I made the objective with around eight seconds to spare. Hope it helps for anyone who aims for the achievement.
I quick bliz the mission with just specter when capturing, use odin to clear point/def base. During capturing, use specter on point and mind blast any Raven coming. Ez life
Also leaving the buildings to burn (and destroying all the scvs/cc's) instead of finishing them should give you ability to destroy alot more during the surprise attack.
Yeah, I have played this mission many times on different difficulties. When he attacked first base I was stunned no static defense at original base. I also took out all the command centers with Tychus at the beginning of the mission.
before i watch i will thank you for this awesome videos! ur helping me trough a rough time, i was camping youtube since 2 hours for the new wings of liberty episode
During the sneak attack portion you kill scvs and just run through hitting buildings just until they catch on fire. You can clear two towers that way before Odin goes down. It's hilarious. They burn to death on their own
It's like he wanted to play the campaign on TRUE brutal difficulty. because if you clear one and half base with Odin, the whole mission become a cakewalk. The amount he struggled during the mission makes it interesting, despite him having far better micro than I do.
Interesting how Arcturus' statue in the center of the map reflects the Odin in that Arcturus is flanked by two wolves. Odin the God famously had two pairs of animal familiars - the ravens Hugin and Munin, and the wolves Gere and Freke. Taking on the persona of Odin - the Allfather, chieftain of the Aesir, the god of War, death and arcane knowledge - seems very much in Arcturus' style.
Man that lazy campaign style haha, you really ought to use 2 hotkey groups so the Vikings aren't just flying into turrets! Also, I don't remember Tychus disappearing after this mission - it might be because you let the Odin get destroyed. Don't worry though, I"m sure he'll be back. Or maybe my memory is foggy and he's just up on the bridge.
Favorite thing about that mission; it changes EVERY UNN news cast in the ENTIRE game, except the ones you cannot possibly beat before it. If you ignore all of Ariel hansons missions for example and complete this one, Donny is less biased towards the dominion and says things like "They don't have any faith in mengsk". Of course, it's extremely hard to do that on a higher difficulty for every mission string, since it means things like not having marauders or siege tanks in the missions.
Supposedly Swann designed the Thor. However, if you finish the Tosh missions first(as Lowko did) the Dominion is using Thor's there. Also there was a Thor featured in a manga that was supposed to take place before the events of Wings of Liberty.
This mission would've been a breeze had Lowko destroyed all the CCs and SCVs at the start instead. But again, Lowko wouldn't be Lowko if he knows to do that.
Fun Fact of this mission, if you just sit there and wait without attacking anything, the timer doesnt start and your base has more time to set itself up
On the ambush you wanted to clear out one or more of the bases to make the mission so much easier. The mech or air base are the far better options than the bio base.
The moment when lowko led his army into base 2's siege tanks and let them get rekted Really should've went for that base first considering there are so many siege tanks
In this mission you are supposed to destroy as many production buildings as possible to make future attacks less frequent and weaker. From my experience they do not replace buildings. Also the odin gets back atomatically to your base at the end of the timer.
I remember back in WoL when thors has a barrage instead of high impact! The barrage was pretty shitty though and was only good a nuking down defenses like a planetary. or nuking a thor
My man lowko, a quick Reminder about solo campaigns. The AI doesnt give up if you kill an army. You actually have to destroy army Building facilities, and Please dir The Name of Love, Take some workers with your Mechanical units if you dont micro them. Have an amazing night, dont forget to Sleep and be kind.
The surprise attack triggered me lol.. Not misuisng of the Bombard ability cause that's normal :D, but the fact that you didn't kill like a single production building or target-fire a CC lol
Just think for a second how long a game Mengsk was playing. He put the transponder in Tychus's suit, he knew exactly what they were up to. But exposing Tychus would have blown his cover with the Raiders, and he was counting on him getting close enough to Kerrigan to kill her.
Nup Lowko, Donny's not going to be pissed, you're gonna feel bad for the fella. But you'll find out about that soon enough. You got me curious though. Tychus has always survived right through when I play it, its got me wondering if it changes anything now.
Sure I did. I messed it up. Would you believe that I started with "Are you going to be making a playthrough of Heroes of the Sto" and then started correcting myself? But made the same mistake again I guess xD
Okay... You stress the importance of scouting in many of your videos and when you have vision of the whole map at the beginning... you don't look around. You use the suprise attack time to go after the weakest of the bases and, even though you were told at the beginning of the mission to do so, you didn't take out any unit producing structures. Finally you let the odin get killed... No words.
man, that last push looked painful. Btw, u can take down 2 bases + 1 expo with odin at the start and still don't lose it. Oh, about mech army not mobile, u may try vessels + vikings + banshees, they're real fast and an all round aoe army
I'm 3 years late for this video but if ever you do the campaign again, the best way is to rush to destroy all command centers and scvs in those 3 minutes. you can destroy them all immediately pretty much nullifying the computer's ability to create more units
35:58 OMG guys look after the first 2 reporters talk, just before Donny speaks, slow down the video, theres an easter egg? Matt´s there, and it looks like someone splaps him, and then, hes like "flying" with Nova siting over him. Cant believe it xD
Have you tried the Golliath Vessel like Swann in mutation missions? They work well even here. Especially they attack both ground and air at the same time. The DPS is nuts!
There were some important clarifications about why Tychus was allowed to help release the recording. Basically there's something more important he's supposed to and having him betray Raynor at this point would have meant abandoning that mission later.
Never played this mission on Brutal; not sure if you have less time during the sneak attack than easier difficulties. But I would just go around and take out SCVs and Command Centers. No income for the enemy = no production. Then just built an army to obliterate buildings and standing forces. Easy-peasy.
Intro of the mission: The sky darkens, battlecruisers show up everywhere. Horner: "They'll gonna throw everything at us that they got."
Ten minutes later. Lowko: "I didn't expect battlecruisers to show up."
#justlowkothings
And then he just lets the Odin get wasted while chatting about his expansion. Fantastic micro skills.
they are gonna be here in just a little bit.
It was painful to watch his "sneak attack." He completely left the production alone, so they just ended up rebuilding everything once the actual mission got going.
Same, got me cringe hard lol
I know I didn't do it very well either the first time. That said, I always go for the base at 2 now, and then swing around to kill 3 before the time runs out
At the beginng of the mission he didnt had any control of the base

Please tell me this mission is reminiscent of the Infested Kerrigan sneak attack in Brood War when she betrayed everyone. You are supposed to go after high-value targets quickly.
Cackling like an idiot seeing Lowko waste all his energy at the front even though the Odin's auto-attack AOE works just fine xD
ikr, he used a spell that can kill 4 buildings to kill 3 marines, which can be done faster by odin's base att
And he didn’t actually deal any damage in the surprise attack lowPalm
I mean, you question Raynor and Matt smoking in a battlecruiser when Tychus is smoking in his armor (even when it's sealed)
"you can smoke inside a galactic battlecruiser?"
Its not like you can go outside to it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don't forget the secret level on the mission "media blitz" :D
"This is Donny Vermillion, live from the *former* UNN studios on Korhal. Breaking news today, somebody destroyed this studio with a huge combat walker stolen from our Army. best thing i've read in a long while XD
Why Simon.... Am I missing some lore thing?
Mgtheridon Lowko's real name is Simon.
Michal Gorecki Why would it be a Gurren Lagan reference lol
Anyone else triggered that Lowko didn't kill every structure?
i did. he has 3 minutes, he only makes a tour in a base doing almost nothing
yea but buildings dont die they get destroyed
he could've destroy all the factories or starports to prevent fighting against siege tanks or banshees which are good against the odin, but he chose the weakest base to attack, and barely killed any unit producing structures. And to top it off, he overextends with the Odin and just loses it along with all his tanks and thors, probably spent like 5 minutes just rebuilding that lmao #justlowkothings

That was the worst Odin suprise attack I've ever seen
not making viking = getting ass kicked by air
Viking upgrade definitely worth the money. Now they can snipe stuff further than siegetanks
watching waste all the Odins energy at the begining was SOOOOOO PAINFUL to watch that ability kill a command center in 1 barage shouldve saved it for the buildings
Lol the thumbnail is like Donny saying "You piece of sheet!"
Someone make sure to hack loco lowko's stream button
Don't worry, Donny. I know what will cheer you up: a padded cell, wool socks, and sixty kilograms of peanut butter.

I suffer watching lowko play some of the missions the way he does, but its still entertaining though
Yeah, I have played this mission many times on different difficulties. When he attacked first base I was stunned no static defense at original base. I also took out all the command centers with Tychus at the beginning of the mission.
This mission is a lot easier to do when you kill the building. You get enough time to kill one base and deny them a type of unit.
If you plan your moves carefully, you can wipe out two bases.
ruclips.net/video/UAAs5jixzeA/видео.html
I always kill one type of unit pro and start on a second (I kill air and go for the bio to stop ghost creation)
8:28 have you ever wondered why does a ''swamp' or ''jungle'' ambient sound effect plays on a metropolis/city enviroment?
Never realized that, now that you bring it up, it's indeed weird
maybe there are mosquitoes on the ship and we can hear them from the bridge :O
Gabriel Barsch Oh look it the guy in every video that I have seen.
Maybe it has to do with cities being refered to as Concrete Jungles sometimes.
Maybe a placeholder they forgot to replace.
before i watch i will thank you for this awesome videos! ur helping me trough a rough time, i was camping youtube since 2 hours for the new wings of liberty episode
During the sneak attack portion you kill scvs and just run through hitting buildings just until they catch on fire. You can clear two towers that way before Odin goes down. It's hilarious. They burn to death on their own
"narrow alleyways"
I doubt you could comfortably fit multiple huge tanks and even larger mechs at once through most cities...
Secret level is on bottom right corner in mission media Blitz :)
Secret mission sounds interesting on Brutal.
Kate Lockwell just became my fav character :D
Anyone noticed 36:00
Kerrigan, Horner, then Nova flying mounted on the back of, Dracula ?
Either way = you should work for the police :D
yep
wut teh fuq
it is nova riding horner
It's Mira riding Horner. Apparently, Horner accidentally uploaded some private footage, too.
I love this mission it is one of my favorites. Also my favorite army comp in this mission is thors and science vessels.
good guy lowko... should be destroying as much as possible, kills a few units and returns to the base half a minute before he has to instead
It's like he wanted to play the campaign on TRUE brutal difficulty. because if you clear one and half base with Odin, the whole mission become a cakewalk. The amount he struggled during the mission makes it interesting, despite him having far better micro than I do.
"I don't need Vikings"
Roberto Marú famous last words :^)
reaper: " i have the highground!!" Don't try it XD at 20.20
I never knew about the secret mission!!! I'm going to have to go back and play it again!
Loco lowko finally slain the real fire breathing monster!
tychus on the Odin is the single greatest conversation of the whole strafcraft saga, the words, the accent is just perfect
owko, yopu were supposed to stay in the surprise attack the Odin would have went back by him self
"I didn't know battlecruisers would show up there." - Lowko after seeing a cinematic with battlecruisers.
Yeah! Secret mission! Great seeing you enjoying the storyline, IMO is excellent and I myself really enjoyed it.... Keep up the good content Lowko!
Interesting how Arcturus' statue in the center of the map reflects the Odin in that Arcturus is flanked by two wolves. Odin the God famously had two pairs of animal familiars - the ravens Hugin and Munin, and the wolves Gere and Freke. The Saying "It Followed Me Home...Can I Keep It?" pertains to an animal like a Dog or a Cat or a Bunny Rabbit..
Awesome play-through Lowko! Very entertaining.
AWWW So short! The longest 3 days of waiting for the next episode..
You really should play this again - it's fun when you know what's coming and choose more appropriate units! 🙂
*HE FOLLOWED ME HOME*
just leaving a ping here to say that I'm just addicted to all the campaign missions by lowko, don't know, its just entertaining
I think Mengsk is the most pissed off
I'm sure a space vessel has some sort of air purification system.
That Reaper was like: I need to fulfill my mission to destroy this siege tank *siege tank gets destroyed* mission comleted, now suicide
*BUY THE SECONDARY MISSILES FOR THE MISSILE TURRETS!*
Good luck on the secret mission! It's tough on brutal lol
Or maybe my memory is foggy and he's just up on the bridge.
well, since this is Tychus mission, he will be in the Bridge
*CAN I KEEP THAT*
The way Lowko looks at Donny, is how I look at Lowko.
I actually never noticed there was a secret mission, well, time to hed back to the keyboard
Favorite thing about that mission; it changes EVERY UNN news cast in the ENTIRE game, except the ones you cannot possibly beat before it. destroying all the mining bases is better than destroying a whole base
Fun Fact of this mission, if you just sit there and wait without attacking anything, the timer doesnt start and your base has more time to set itself up
29:11 Bunkers work better if, you know, you put marines in them.
Seeing ur surprise attack made me mad destroy the unit creating buildings
17:20 You know graphics in this game aren't to scale.
It followed me home... can i keep it?
Ragnarok 'n roll.
This mission is great just for Tychus quotes.
Obviously acturus is pissed while Donny is shocked with a broken heart
I love the name of this video!👌
On the ambush you wanted to clear out one or more of the bases to make the mission so much easier. The mech or air base are the far better options than the bio base.
in multiplayer they should replace the thors with 1 odin so the terran have their version of the mothership
You can kill all command centers and scvs on the map during the surprise attack.
Makes the mission very easy ^^
26:51 Look at all those SCV's just sitting around. Maybe you should have just used advanced construction to make a CC there quickly?
Need MOAR GOLIATHS!!!
Remember you don't have to have a base at the location to have your automated refinery their you just build it out there and collect.
The moment when lowko led his army into base 2's siege tanks and let them get rekted
Really should've went for that base first considering there are so many siege tanks

I remember back in WoL when thors has a barrage instead of high impact!
The barrage was pretty shitty though and was only good a nuking down defenses like a planetary. or nuking a thor
Upgrading missile towers, getting threatened by flying unit couple of times, don't build towers. Yup, that's Lowko.
In french music is pronounced exactly the same as in dutch .
Its nice to learn something new even if its trivial.
My man lowko, a quick Reminder about solo campaigns. The AI doesnt give up if you kill an army. You actually have to destroy army Building facilities, and Please dir The Name of Love, Take some workers with your Mechanical units if you dont micro them.

Oh Donny boy....the pipes the pipes are caaaaallinnggggg.
Just think for a second how long a game Mengsk was playing. He put the transponder in Tychus's suit, he knew exactly what they were up to. But exposing Tychus would have blown his cover with the Raiders, and he was counting on him getting close enough to Kerrigan to kill her.

You got me curious though. Tychus has always survived right through when I play it, its got me wondering if it changes anything now.
Are you going to be making a playthrough of Hearth of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void?
Sure I did. I messed it up.
Would you believe that I started with
"Are you going to be making a playthrough of Heroes of the Sto" and then started correcting myself?
But made the same mistake again I guess xD
Donny Vermillion takes the news rather badly. I'll won't spoil too much, but it is pretty funny.
If Goliaths are robo-Marines, Thors are Robo-Marauders.
Pfft... News anchors, am I right or am I right?
Odin is actually closer to skyscraper size. The damn thing is massive
No words.
When a siege tank is in siege mode and claim that they’ve got no patience for sitting around. Too bad XD
man, that last push looked painful. Btw, u can take down 2 bases + 1 expo with odin at the start and still don't lose it. Oh, about mech army not mobile, u may try vessels + vikings + banshees, they're real fast and an all round aoe army
Lowko you could have done so much more damage in that initial assault.
I'm 3 years late for this video but if ever you do the campaign again, the best way is to rush to destroy all command centers and scvs in those 3 minutes. you can destroy them all immediately pretty much nullifying the computer's ability to create more units
Huh, I always thought you had to kill the science facility during the surprise attack, like it would disappear after the timer.
Jajajaja suffer donny suffer
35:58 OMG guys look after the first 2 reporters talk, just before Donny speaks, slow down the video, theres an easter egg? Matt´s there, and it looks like someone splaps him, and then, hes like "flying" with Nova siting over him. Cant believe it xD
fun fact swann "develops" the thor but it is used against you in the prision breakout mission :D
Have you tried the Golliath Vessel like Swann in mutation missions? They work well even here. Especially they attack both ground and air at the same time. The DPS is nuts!
Of course they also have extra range. :)
If seige tanks could hit air
Absolutely, Donny takes this the worst, as you'll soon learn...
There were some important clarifications about why Tychus was allowed to help release the recording. Basically there's something more important he's supposed to and having him betray Raynor at this point would have meant abandoning that mission later.
Well... i think donny will get a mental break soon enough
1. Reaper 50m50v 20:52
valued at +300m250v
Just in time for my meal time!
Now you're thinking with turrets lowko.
They can smoke in a battle cruiser, because they can hardly go outside to smoke now can they?
Never played this mission on Brutal; not sure if you have less time during the sneak attack than easier difficulties. But I would just go around and take out SCVs and Command Centers. No income for the enemy = no production. Then just built an army to obliterate buildings and standing forces. Easy-peasy.
