I loved the part where you pulled out the microscope and found the cracked solder joint, very cathartic. 👍 Thank goodness those cards had LEDs that lit up.
I have a Rockford fosgate Power 1000.1 db that has some issues, it works, I'm using a generic bass knob that's inline with the rca's, i don't have the oem type knob, I've heard of The Amp Doctors, their site says they can upgrade amps. Would you like to diagnose and repair it or should I send it to them?
No kidding Sam but when I saw you live I pulled out a JL Audio 300/4 that I have been meaning to fix. One of the driver boards was doing the exact same thing. The two LED lights weren't on. After watching your stream, the exact same resistor on my amp had a failed solder joint. Must be a common issue with them. I'm wondering if that resistor get extremely hot under normal operating conditions.
1:02:52 You can use OBS to display video from specific windows you have open, so you can open the link in a browser and then have OBS display that browser window for you to place in the video stream somewhere etc. Would let you click links and do browser things :)
You got a lot more patience than I do. I actually have the same amp that took a s*** on me and jl wouldn't fix it of course and I had to have someone else fix it I don't remember exactly who it was and what was wrong with it. Hell it might have been you LOL it's been about 3 years ago. why doesn't JL repair the slash apps anyway? They were expensive new
heh, had a home receiver(str-dh800) taken out (3 channels) by one side of a balance circuit in each (some micro npns in said circuit popped) a single npn in each channel path popped the main output transistors in each channel affected and most of the bits between there and the npn.. except it didn't pop all the way (at first), so they tested good.. right up until the last cycle of popping. a

Another good one Sam. I see this quite often on these amplifers.
