I agree. The whole review process is flawed when you start to use Dirac. 99.9% of the people I know do not have Dirac and therefore we will never make these sound in our setting the way he does. Not only that, if he is using Dirac for all speakers he reviews then Dirac is trying to compensate all speakers of their shortcomings or eq'ing them to sound best in that room. My advice is to not use any room calibration software that will change how the speaker sounds, and review for what they are. Do they work against a wall? Is the treble hot? Is the midrange shouty or recessed? You can't run Dirac and then comment on how it sounds. Just my 2 cents.
Hi Terry I have recorded loads of tracks but I dont think I did the same track again. I think you will still easily hear the differences it's very obvious. hopefully have 2 more vids on tomorrow all being well
These or the R11's are my next speaker. Currently I have the LS50 wireless the Muo the M100 headphones and HAD the old R300. those are sold. now for maybe the flagship. Kef really has amazing stuff

I want to demo either the Kef 5 or Kef 7 at home. I really like the sound of them and would like to compare them to my 804s. I like the smooth sound of the R7s that I can hear on your video.
Do you have the B&W 804? I just got the same. I think KEF may come across as smoother but also tad boxy compared to the 804. The 804 are unforgiving to bad recordings and bright in my opinion where as the KEF are easier on the ears. But you do hear a subtle boxiness to the sound with KEF when you do an A/B test between the 2. That is also evident when you compare the 804 to B&W's own CM10 S2 or 702 speakers. I think that may have to do with the shape of the cabinet as both KEF R5/R7/R11 and the B&W CM10/702 have the same cabinet designs.
I’m curious how you can evaluate equipment when you are using Dirac. Won’t the Dirac change the sound biasing the review?

Does it sound good close to the wall but the rear port blocked with the supplied bungs?
I would never use port bungs with speakers I dont think it's a good way to go. I didn't test that aspect of them sorry

probably to quickly/easily rotate them to find the right toe in without needing to lift them off their feet

that's a combination of things Jim mate don't forget I am using valve amp and have a top flight dac as well

In Sweden they cost 40.000 SEK ~ 3.500 GBP. Hifi is cheap in UK.
