    Thanks for this excellent video. I have been waiting for it since your "BEST AIR PURIFIER 2023" video. Since you posted that video, I have purchased the BP06 and spent way too many hours learning about it.
    You pointed out that a difference that the BP06 has compared to the BP03 and BP04 is that the BP06 does not integrate with the MyDyson app. The BP06 also has a few major differences: 1) It does not come with a remote controller; 2) Its airflow angle cannot be adjusted whatsoever; 3) Its HEPA filter only lasts for 2.5 years, compared to the BP03 and BP04's 5 years; and 4) Its filter can capture pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, whereas the BP03 and BP04 can capture pollutants as small as 0.1 microns.
    By the way, there's also another variant, the BP02, which is not sold in North America. (BP01 and BP06 do not exist.)

    The CO2 tracker is an underrated feature of this unit. Many apartment buildings have high levels of CO2, and most air purifiers don't track this. It's true that the air purifier itself doesn't do much about CO2, but it's still handy information to know so that you can open a window in the evening and get in some more fresh air.

  • @Bexamous
    @Bexamous Год назад +36

    I bought one of these a few weeks ago, IMO its worth it if you have a larger room. Its very quiet for the amount of air it moves. Even on 10 (max) I wouldn't call it loud or annoying sounding, and its only on 10 if someone burns something in the kitchen. At 5 it's hard to hear unless room is near silent. Most of the time its on 1-2 and basically silent.. in practice I never hear this thing... and if I do (someone burned something) its not obnoxious. Its about as good as it gets for noise profile, IMO.
    $1000 is a lot BUT the filter prices are actually reasonable.. the both cost and expected lifespan just seem reasonable. Lot of air purifiers bug me with their epensive filters they want replaced very frequently. Sure you can often get 3rd party filters for less, but then you gotta deal with buying 3rd party filters and not knowing if you're buying crappy filters. I like idea of getting the right filter for a reasonable price.
    Also yes thing is large, but it least has some style to it.. compare it to like an IQAir, that is god awful. This could be argued to look good. I find in a big room it looks fine. In small room just due to size of thing its not going to look good, its just not for small rooms. I'll stick with Coway for small rooms, but for a big room IMO Dyson Big&Quiet is the thing to get.

    • @arevee9429
      @arevee9429 Год назад +4

      Agree - Coway Airmega 300 and 400 are good choices for a reasonable price. I wouldn't call IQAir hideous-looking, but it does have a certain "hospital equipment" look. And yes, the filters for that one cost the earth.

    At 4:25, you estimated that the filter replacements would cost an average of $100 per year. However, looking at their website, Dyson advertises their long-life filters for this air purifier to last up to 5 years. At the same cost of $100 for a replacement, that would only be $20/year. Did you estimate an annual cost of $100/year out of principle that filters should be replaced regularly? If so, what was the rationale to disregard Dyson's advertised "long-life" claims?

    • @Bexamous
      @Bexamous Год назад +5

      The HEPA filter lasts 'up to' 5 years for $169, or till when app suggests you replace it. Wouldn't assume you always get the 'up to' lifespan. Also that's just the HEPA filter, the K-Carbon filter is separate and only lasts 2 years, or again when app suggests to replace it... so again 'up to' 2 years. K-Carbon is out-of-stock and no price listed. Also it maybe difficult to compare Dyson that advertises 'up to' 5 years with eg IQAir to advertises filters last 2 years 'on average'... its the max vs the avg.

    • @hisimagenme
      @hisimagenme Год назад +1

      My guess it the average likely goes up per pet. If you have pets it likely gets used up much faster. For a home with no pets and living in a fairly dust free area (unlike here in NM) and the only time people are home is evening and bedtime... sure it might last 5 years.

    I have had this about one month, and for the most part enjoy it, however I believe it has one programming fail that SHOULD be available for a $1,000 purifier. I have mine in my bedroom. I can program the machine to turn on and off, however what I feel is missing is the ability to program the machine to go in to night mode automatically say at 10PM, and turn night mode off at 8AM (or whatever). THIS IS NOT AVAILABLE. Yes, I can manually turn night mode on and off, but this should be an available feature. I contacted Dyson, and was ignored, another negative for such an expensive purchase. Hey Dyson, are you listening?

    It would be really interesting to see the tests against something that is actually harmful. I don't really have a fog problem. But I've heard ambient air has asbestos at low levels and silicia for example. How much cleaner will the air be for particles that are actually dangerous to health

    • @xPaulRulesTheWorldx
      @xPaulRulesTheWorldx 7 месяцев назад

      So far the only differences between the BP04 and BP03 looks to be the following
      Color
      BP04 has a K carbon filter (filters the same as the BP03 but 3x faster)
      BP04 has CO2 monitor
      I've been looking into these 2 for a few months and finally got the BP03 as the CO2 and K carbon filter aren't enough to justify the increase. It also looks like you can put the k carbon filter on the BP03, so I'll be trying that later on

    How are they going to charge more than IQ air for that? Sure the sensors are nice, but if buy an air filter I want a ton of quality media. For the price, just buy a Health Pro Plus, and a separate air quality monitor for the same price. I feel like there was some information held back here, and in a lot of the reviews lately. I love this channel, but its becoming less and less objective.

    • @santiagodraco
      @santiagodraco 7 месяцев назад +4

      You want to spend a ton on filters go ahead. The IQ doesn't clean the air "better" than the Dyson to make the excessive filter cost worth it. The dyson is a much better long term value and is also an excellent performer. I think it's an easy choice.

  • @GiantPanther

    If you are testing the CFM......why not include it on the review, the Dyson doesn't have a CADR listed, so despite all these features and filtration performance.......are you paying $1k for low actual airflow compared to competing products. I'm sure the Dyson is a good product and all, but it feels pretty important if their selling point is moving the air.....to know HOW MUCH AIR IT"S MOVING. This is less a review and more a straight up advertisement. Why are you reiterating the product features in this review straight off the Dyson website, that isn't reviewing.

      Those sensors aren't cheap, especially if they are using quality ones with decent calibration. The bill of materials on this air purifier has gotta be pretty steep, and it seems like they aren't playing the make back the money selling overpriced filters game, or at least not too hard.
