    1. Don't air out every time you park solves #1, air compressor noise stops😮.
    2. Ride height problem exists with coilovers and regular strut/shocks system. Set your air suspension " struts/shocks at a higher daily height so you dont have to mess with it ever . This also solves your 3rd complaint if you set your alignment at that height .
    4. Run your airline with a braided line next to your brake line and your line shouldn't be hit unless your brake line gets hit too . Also dont run your lines under the car . Run line into vehicle to tank , not underneath vehicle.
    Last thing there are auto draining water traps and install problems like leaks can be avoided by doing it right the first time without cutting corners for example use torture wrenches to tighten things to spec and using liquid thread sealant $$ instead of the cheaper Teflon tape.

      I use air ride not to slam my car but because I run more weight in my trunk then most people do . I just set it and forget it . Coilovers would possibly work for me but adding more passengers in the rear would cause problems with bottoming out .

      All of these are good points and I'm pretty much following all of them except for airing out everytime I park because the way I look at it is that I spend the money on air suspension so I need to use it.

    I've been daily driving on Airlift performance series for two summers and two winters on my 2SS Camaro. The only issue Ive had was one of my compressors kept popping a fuse because I had to clean my SMC check valve. Which took me 20 minutes. I still have the same tires before I installed Airlift suspension and there are places that offer lifetime alignment packages. I get my checked every 4 months and they only had to align my car twice in two years. Once right after install and the other just recently.
    If your lines are ran inside your vehicle and the ones connected to your bags has braided steel lines over them there shouldn't be any concern about damaging lines. Don't run them under your chassis and leave them exposed mine are softly zip tied to my stock wires under my carpet. My car is basically a 2 seater and only my girlfriend and myself sit in it. I never have to fiddle with pressure. I just use my presets with myself or her in the car with me . The compressor sounds doesn't bother me. At least not to the point that I care to bother dampening the sound. I have a dual set up so the sound doesn't last that long anyways. However there are items available to dampen the sound for those who are bothered by it.
    It seems like you're trying to make everything seem harder than it actually is. The only maintenance really is purging water from the tank from condensation. You can go with a water trap but I got tired of climbing in my back seat with a rag to purge my tank and water trap. So I bought an electric tank drain kit. it purges your tank and dumps any condensation/water through a line i ran to the outside of my car. This is done at the push of a button. Due to the frequency and ease of use with this component, my water trap is typically bone dry whenever i had a mind to check it. Other than that I sometimes air all the way up and inspect my struts, bags and braided lines when I wash my car. I've never had to adjust them since I've had them.

      Not trying to say air suspension is the worst thing that's ever been invented just happened to me a lot fl more to it than I would have thought prior to daily driving it. I have since switched to fortune auto coilovers and much prefer static lifestyle

  • @gjoniny

    What about wheel alignment? I don't see anyone talking about alignment with air sysytem?

    • @GearBocks
      @GearBocks  21 день назад

      @@gjoniny as your ride height increase and decreases your camber and toe changes. With that being said if you aren't at your "standard" ride height that you have the alignment done on, you will not fall within an optimal camber or toe range leading to premature wear on your tires

    BagRiders has a compressor isolater kit that helps a good bit. Also mounting the compressor in the spare tire area witb sound deadening makes a difference also. Just a suggestion.

    • @showstoppa01
      @showstoppa01 Год назад +1

      dont that mean you have to get rid of the spare tire altogether OR can a comoressor be in there wit the tire? or dual compressors at that?

    • @blkeclipsel2400
      @blkeclipsel2400 Год назад +2

      @showstoppa01 it's a spare tire delete he's suggesting. I wouldnt do it just because of the compressor sound. I have two of them and it's not that bad.

    whoever suggested height sensors break alot doesnt want to do the install for you heh. They are a pain to install but if there installed properly in a spot that doesn't come into contact with the suspension its very rare anything goes wrong with them. It makes a huge difference too because you can adjust height based on % travel. That means its extremely easy to make all corners the same without ever getting out and measuring the height of the car. the range of travel for the backs may differ slightly from range of travel of the front, but its still super easy to set the desired ride heights.. your complains about pressure adjustment are valid but the solution is out there.

    Sorry, but all i am hearing is whining. The only issue that i can relate to is the compressor noise... i have 3H on my current car and my previous car, furthermore my buddy has had them on his ex car and current car... Self installed an no issues as long as you think about what you do and how you install

  • @justind554
    @justind554 Год назад +2

    How often you do maintenance?

    • @GearBocks
      @GearBocks  Год назад +1

      It's no exact science but usually every month or so I will look over everything including draining the tank. With the water trap basically everytime I open the trunk I will get the condensation out. The big thing I've learned with air suspension, just like any other car related item, is keeping an eye on what your normal operation looks, sounds, and feels like and if you notice any variance, try to troubleshoot as quickly as possible.

    I had a "quality" air system professionally installed on a Harley Bagger, and it was nothing but chasing gremlins ALL THE TIME. I'm not saying that automotive systems are the same, and I know that bags have been used for decades in commercial vehicles, but I echo the concerns of the vlogger.

      @@GearBocks I'm telling you it was a constant battle, I don't know how many times I'd blow a fitting, or a solenoid would go bad while out and about. Thankfully the bike didn't bottom out when aired out, so it was like riding a ridged until it got fixed, but it was always a P.I.T.A.
